He was losing control, eyelids growing heavier by the minute the more he took it all in. For the first time in years, he felt truly relaxed. His mind was entirely blank, Hughie’s soft voice neutralising the venomous thoughts that constantly poisoned his mind. He never would have thought something so simple would give him comfort.

“We don’t gotta watch that, man.” he says plainly. His voice coming out more aloof than he feels. What he means to say is, you don’t have to watch that, or please, I don’t want to watch that.
But Bobby, much like Johnny, has never been good at just saying what he wants.
Johnny doesn’t even so much as glance back at him, his gaze locked on the tattered white tape stuck to the side of the video tape. The words All Valley Tournament, ‘84 written in black marker are stark even with the signs of fading.
The blonde bites at his bottom lip, clear indecision on his face. Bobby wishes he could chuck the tape out the window, wishes he didn’t have to look at the thing ever again.
But when does Bobby ever get what he wants?

Johnny’s got his life together, things are really looking up. He’s managed to curb his slightly unhealthy drinking habits, fulfill his dream of a lifetime in getting himself his pilot's license, and has an actual steady job.
If you asked anyone else they’d probably tell you it seemed a little too good to be true, but Johnny was the type of guy who was just gonna enjoy it while it lasted…
And then Daniel came barreling back into his life, the same, hopped up smart-mouthed punk he remembered from all those years ago… but maybe with a few changes, like the almost permanent downturn to his lips when he thought no one was looking. The melancholy way he seemed to drown himself in his martinis (which, were a total girls drink) or the way he worked himself to exhaustion at his soulless job at the dealership.
It all unsettled Johnny, had him wanting to insert himself back into Daniel's life… and maybe, just maybe... It had a little to do with the way seeing Daniel again put a sort of fire into the pit of his stomach that he didn’t quite understand, not yet.

Johnny turned his head and nearly choked on his gum. Standing in the aisle like he’d just seen a ghost was none other than Daniel freakin’ LaRusso.
“Oh, come on,” LaRusso said finally, hands flopping dramatically at his sides. “What is he doing here?”
Johnny raised his eyebrows, biting back a smirk. “What am I doing here? I could ask you that. I was here first, princess.”
LaRusso looked at Mr. Miyagi, wide-eyed and utterly betrayed. “You invited him?”
“Hai. No need for drama.”
“No need for—” LaRusso stopped and tried again. “He... he’s like... he bullied me, remember that?”
Johnny groaned. “Oh my god. That was, like, months ago. Get over it, LaRusso.”
All Johnny meant to do was thank Mr. Miyagi for saving his life. He didn’t expect it to turn into an accidental trip to Okinawa with Daniel LaRusso.
