One can hope that's the reason.

Finney died by being kidnapped first and killing The Grabbers after he learned what would happen to the others through a dream on accident. Finney didn't regret it one bit if it meant that his friends, crush and older brother would be safe and live longer, but he didn't get to say his final goodbyes until now.
