Summary
In the year 2081, amendments to the Constitution state that all Americans must be entirely equal and are prohibited from being smarter, better-looking, or more physically capable than anyone else. The Handicapper General's agents enforce these equality laws by requiring citizens to wear "handicaps": masks for those deemed too beautiful, radios placed in the ears of intelligent people, and heavy weights for the strong or athletic.
When Harrison Bergeron attempts to overthrow the government, he is gunned down. This act sparks a rebellion among those capable of breaking free from control, leading to an all-out war. One rebellion group, led by Harrison's younger brother, Sam, aims to dismantle the government. In a twist of fate, they encounter a sleeper citizen: a teenager named Castiel.
