Grian’s lips turned downward as he noticed the advertisement taped to the train wall. Against an indigo and violet background, swirling gold letters read ‘YOU CAN SEE HIM AGAIN.’ The page was otherwise inexplicably faded to the point of illegibility.
He clicked his tongue in annoyance, dropping his gaze.
“Can’t leave me alone for a moment, huh?” he muttered under his breath.

“What happened in your game that made you—” Scar hesitated, unsure of how to phrase it.
Grian laughed drily. “Made me what?” He shook his head and turned to stare at Scar head-on. “Scar, we all won death games. We all saw things, did things no one should ever do. And I don’t know about you, but I’m not too keen to talk about them, so would you please do me a favor and leave me alone?”
Scar held his ground, refusing to tear his gaze away. “What happened in your game?” he repeated, quieter but no less firm.
