Summary
Frenchie turns around at that, and sees Roach, head popped up behind a crate. “Roach? Why aren’t you asleep with everyone else?”
Roach sits up further, resting his elbows on the crate. “Making sure we haven’t displeased the fairies and they still accept our offerings. What about you?”
Frenchie and Roach decide to stay up to make sure the fairies still accept their offerings after all that nasty curse business.
They meet a fairy, but he's not at all what (or who) they expect.

Summary
Frenchie pulls his hands away as if burned and he jumps back, his eyes wide. “Roach…”
“What?” Roach brings his hand to his head, trying to find the spot. The itching is decreasing, at least. He gasps when he feels something furry and when he tugs on it, he winces in pain. “What is it?”
Frenchie edges back even more, grimacing as he looks away. “Bad news.” His shoulders hunch and his nervous eyes dart over to Roach. “I think you’ve got cat ears.”
Roach still isn’t sure whether to believe the story about Buttons turning himself into a seagull. What better way to test it than by transforming himself?

Summary
Frenchie shrugs and pauses his chopping as well. “I never feel rested afterwards,” he says. “So what’s the point?”
“Then you’ve been doing it all wrong,” Roach declares. He’s going to help his friend. “And I’ll teach you how to nap properly.”
Roach teaches Frenchie his napping ways, and that awakens some feelings in both of them.

Summary
The water sprite sways closer to Frenchie. “You fell in me. You’re covered in me. It’s enough.”
“Enough for what?” Frenchie leans back, his eyes darting all over the sprite and over to Roach. He keeps his head lifted, trying not to show how nervous he is.
“To turn you into a monster over the next day and night. Enough time for you to fetch your friend. Enough time to repay me.” The sprite sways over to Roach. “If the payment is fair, I will undo my curse on your friend.”
Roach takes Frenchie out for a spa day like he did with Fang, but whoops! The water sprite of the stream they visit is still annoyed at their lack of gratitude. Roach and Frenchie better bring back Fang and make amends, or Frenchie is stuck with his curse forever...
