Summary
A brief history of the lemon pig:
Mentioned in books, magazines and newspapers as early as the mid-1800s, lemon pigs were little more than a cheap craft project for children and adults. Though this amusing dinner table decoration was quite popular in homes across the U.S. during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, by the 1960s the lemon pig had sadly faded into obscurity. Fortunately, in 2017 a cookbook author stumbled upon an image from a retro party planning book sponsored by a major aluminum company, and with the addition of the coin to its mouth, the lemon pig was reborn as a New Year’s good luck tradition.
This whimsical AU scene is set in and inspired by the Divisible By Three series created by Voodoosgirl in which post-CA:CW Steve, Bucky, Sam and Natasha all live together in an old farmhouse in upstate NY and the relationship between Sam and Bucky is akin to an intense sibling rivalry.
