Summary
They both know the gravity of the ask. Grooming was deeply personal for angels. It’s only ever done in solitude. In Heaven, it isn’t right to display your wings in front of other angels if they aren’t groomed and cleaned up properly. A lot of the archangels made sure to mention it was ‘disrespectful’ to show anything but your best self to the Almighty’s holiest. For Aziraphale to suggest … well, for a human-equivalent analogy, it’s like asking for help showering.
After a stressful visit from Heaven, Aziraphale's feathers are ruffled, and Crowley helps smooth them out.

Summary
Aziraphale takes a deep breath and does so. He hopes his confidence in himself isn’t misplaced. There are a number of things he can imagine Crowley wanting as a prize (most of them probably unrealistic), and an even greater number of things Aziraphale wants to give Crowley, but not here. Not for this silly game. And if his confidence is misplaced … hopefully Crowley understands the stakes, as well. Not here. Not for this silly game.
Crowley invites Aziraphale to make fun of Gabriel's statue, but first, a date—er, picnic.
