Summary
“Yankee fan,” Derek says, laughing when Stiles makes a disgusted face. “The Bronx Bombers, Stiles, you can’t be a New Yorker and—”
“Stop talking right now,” Stiles sighs, shaking his head. “I can’t believe I still want to kiss you after that,” he says, pulling Derek in by his coat. “This is making me rethink everything."
“I’ll never watch them again,” Derek promises, and Stiles laughs against his mouth.
Or: Stiles is a starting pitcher for the NY Mets when he meets and falls in love with Derek. Derek doesn’t know.

Summary
Stiles had started stressing over his and Derek’s trip to California as soon as they got back from Wisconsin at Thanksgiving. He had, unsurprisingly, gotten sick nearly as soon as Derek’s fever broke and spent the next four days near delirious in bed. Scott and Allison had kept him company while Derek was at work—not that he remembered much of it—and Stiles would have been fine if Scott hadn’t opened his big mouth and said “don’t worry, I’m sure Christmas will be better.”

Summary
He’s laying on the couch, hood pulled over his head and face buried in the crook of his elbow; not because it’s cold or because he wants to block the light, but because it’s Stiles’ hoodie and it smells like him. The house is unusually silent, a stillness that prevails only when his partner isn’t home, and Derek hates it.

Summary
Stiles knows something is off from the moment he opens the front door. There’s no patter of tiny feet running through the house, rushing from place to place like the most overworked chef in the city, offering a variety of imaginary meals on tiny spoons that are pushed in his face with a demand to taste. He can’t hear Derek either, though there’s music coming from the speakers in the kitchen, and the sound sets Stiles on edge. He knows every song on this playlist and he dreads hearing them, because Derek only listens to Colin Hay when he’s at a low point, and Stiles has been hearing that voice too often lately.

Summary
Stiles catches the second jersey with a sigh, and lets out an exaggerated whimper when he sees Jackson holding up two more—tiny pinstriped cleaning rags if he has anything to say about it, there’s no way he’s letting his girls wear those things.
Norah’s wearing hers three minutes later. Harper, thankfully, falls asleep on his lap before Jackson can convince her to put it on.
Stiles will get him back for this.

Summary
The ice has numbed his knees, an unrelenting cold seeping through the sweats he’d worn even after Derek had warned him against it, and Stiles isn’t sure he’s going to make it through the next hour. He grips his fingers into Norah’s jersey tightly, staring into her green eyes that look so much like Derek’s, and takes a deep breath. “Baseball is fun,” he says for the third time that morning, “and we play when it’s warm outside, sweetheart, you know? And—and—Daddy could teach you that, too! Both your daddies! Wouldn’t that be fun? Daddy and I could teach you baseball together!”

Summary
“Hey,” Derek calls out; Stiles looks over to see him jogging across the outfield, glove in hand, grinning. “I was hoping you’d be here.”
Stiles raises an eyebrow and looks at him. “You were hoping I’d be in the same spot I’ve been every godforsaken Saturday morning since February? Wow. Guess you got lucky.”

Summary
Their date nights have always been Thursday.
Her Dads go out together on Friday, Saturdays are filled with various sports and competitions throughout the year, and Grandma would be disappointed if they skipped Sunday dinner. So Thursday it is, because Dad says he’ll die if anyone expects him to do anything on a Monday night other than eat takeout and sit around in his comfy clothes. Her other dad always looks at him and says, “How is that any different from the rest of the week, Stiles?” and Dad sticks his tongue out and makes a face when he’s not looking.
