“Did you see Tony?” Clint asked Steve out curiously.
Steve took a breath, refusing to look at the director he might do something without thinking like knock the man out. He knew he would probably regret it later, but he could care less right now.
“Tony got super sick in the bathroom, and I told him to go home. I think it might have been something we all ate, because I feel sick too,” Steve said out with a fake gag before he grabbed his things and turned to leave the room. He slammed the door on his way out angry on his friend’s behalf heading towards the garage so he could grab his bike.

“No, I’m making you hide because your face is an open book now. Your face and mannerisms are not the Tony Stark that is used to dealing with the press. You are an innocent little bean right now. And I’m making you hide behind us because if any of the press were to say something to hurt you… let's just say I wouldn’t be able to hold myself or either James’s back,” Natasha said lightly, her eyes narrowed as she imagined that situation.
“Yeah, Pepper would be upset at all the bad press that would bring,” Tony said with a grimace.
“No, Pepper would be upset that some asshole hurt you,” Clint interjected before Natasha could elaborate on what she would do if someone hurt Tony. “Hence why you’re behind all of us,” he added.

“Howard Stark,” Bucky said quietly, as they rode the elevator down to the ground floor.
“I hope he’s suffering wherever he is,” Sam said heatedly.
“He might be, since Bucky killed him,” Steve said lightly.

“What do you mean by that?” Pepper asked carefully.
“Like, our relationship, what are we? Cause like before my accident we had just broken up but it wasn’t a real break up and now that I’m this age you haven’t…well you haven’t wanted to get back together and I just wondered if my new age is a deal breaker for you,” Tony rushed out quickly.
“Honey, I was giving you space, and this isn’t the time to have this conversation, the meeting starts in 45 minutes,” Pepper said honestly.
“Oh right, the meeting,” Tony mumbled, as he scooted back from the table, his appetite gone. It felt like Pepper was trying to get out of answering and he had a horrible feeling as to why that was. He actually felt sick all of a sudden now.
