We reached out to the Policy & Abuse committee to get an answer to your question. They indicated that they do not intend to make a post summarizing or responding to all the feedback they received in the comments. However, as noted in the newsletter, they do intend to make adjustments to the TOS FAQ in response to questions that were brought up.
We hope this addresses your questions. If you're looking for other more specific information, we recommend you contact PAC as they are the ones who can answer you.
What's the point of opening feedbacks if it's not going to be discussed/addressed? I have been watching on the sidelines but lately this site confuses me.
> The 2-week feedback period prior to the vote received several thousand comments, and Policy & Abuse (PAC) worked with Communications' News Post Moderation subcommittee to respond to more than 400 of them.
Checking the feedback thread, there are 4,751 comments. I've outlined some of them below (the first three top-level comments and the hundred-plus comments attached to them), but the tl;dr is "a surprising number of them had little or nothing to do with the TOS change." And many more were simple expressions of approval or disapproval that are hard to write a meaningful response to!
1. The very first comment was the foundation to a sixty-comment thread that had nothing to do with the TOS change: it began with somebody submitting a bug report and turned into a general discussion about how to use bookmarks, notes, work skins, etc. Again, it had absolutely nothing to do with TOS.
2. The second top-level comment was a simple expression of "Oh my." Hard to address that in any meaningful way.
3. The third top-level comment expressed approval of the change and started another thread, even longer than the first thread, that likewise spiraled into tangents that were mostly unrelated to the TOS change.
Of course I mean about the TOS. The admins have addressed several, it might be useful to post a follow up post to compile the addressed ones especially if they discussed again with the team and there was a new development.
All of the 4700+ comments made during the feedback period were reviewed by volunteers from the News Post Moderation and Policy & Abuse teams. All comments that received official replies were discussed internally by Policy & Abuse. While PAC does not intend to publish a news post summarizing or responding to the feedback, you can read their responses by scrolling through the comments on the Open Comment Period for AO3 Terms of Service Updates news post. To quickly locate official replies, you can use your device's “find” feature (Ctrl-F/Cmd-F) to search for comments from the OTW_News_Post_Moderation or AO3_Policy_and_Abuse official accounts.
As mentioned in the Releases 0.9.379 - 0.9.382: Change Log news post, PAC has already implemented one change to the TOS FAQ as a direct result of the open feedback period [AO3-6841]. In the future, PAC will also be adding new TOS FAQ questions to address other comments and questions received during the feedback period.
