    I know I came across a similar fic on FFN recently. Where Tsunade woke up when Naruto was like 8, and she did become Hokage. I dropped it though because while the starting premise was her returning and adopting Naruto to give him a better life, as soon as she became Hokage to defend him, the story just kind of forgot about Naruto for the next 5-10 chapters beyond her internal monologue mentioning her doing this all for him, even though she already had custody. It was frequently updating, and may have changed and gotten better, so it should be findable by looking for recent fics longer than 20k-50k words.
