    At first I was gonna leave a comment about the story itself, but then I got sidetracked by that little “blog” note from the author and now I kinda wanna respond to that instead.

    Dude, you’re way too hard on yourself and focusing on the wrong stuff. You really don’t need to stress about what some random people overseas might be saying. You’re better than that.

    As for the story — I’m actually really glad Sunny’s thoughts don’t spiral into overly complicated philosophical stuff. Some writers get so caught up in endless inner monologues that they forget he’s literally 16, and it starts feeling weird when a kid is casually pondering the meaning of existence in everyday situations. Thankfully, that’s not the case here. And comparing Aubrey to a bird feels pretty natural, I think it fits Sunny’s dreamy, still kinda childlike way of thinking.
