“I… I'm sorry, angel. It's just,” he looked back at the burger, “This was a part of you. You sacrificed a part of your body to feed us— feed me. How could I ever be deserving of something so selfless? So holy?”
“Simon,” I place a hand under his chin to turn his head towards me, “It's ok, truly. There’s no trial you need to win. I want to do this for you. Please don’t neglect yourself for my sake, ok?”
He shivered in awe, leaning into my touch, “yes angel, promise.”
“Good, I'm glad,” I smiled. Then, I reach over to the plate. The burger was so soft and tender, I pinch off a small piece and hold it up to his lips, “Now, take a bite. And if you really don't like it, you don't have to eat it.”

The Blood Eel searches the cosmos and comes across The Hail Mary, occupied by Ryland Grace, and it decides this is what Simon was asking for. So it obliges.
What follows is the story of two lost souls coming together in a cosmic event, learning together to live, to love, to be happy. All while The Blood Eel looks on, insuring it continues to learn, one way or another.
