Summary
Gideon is honestly fine with how her life is going. She's writing her silly little Cythday fanfics, going into her silly little job to be flirted at by middle aged women trying to figure out the elliptical, making silly little pieces of paper arbitrarily assigned value because she lives in a dystopian society (capitalism). It would be nice to have a little more control over her free time, sure, and she'd like if Nova Tumblr user thelostlyctor would give her a break, but it's all manageable. She's talking to a cute goth who she's pretty sure likes her back. Things are good. Things are great.
Or: Gideon and Harrow are fanfiction authors for the same lesbian speculative fiction series, and then they match on Tinder.

Summary
Gideon doesn't strictly mean to speak out loud when she hears herself say, “you look good.”
Harrow freezes, mid-drink and a pink flush spreads over her cheeks. She blinks a few times then bites on her lip.
Gideon regrets it so quickly adds, “y’know, for the devil incarnate,” sticking to the approved script.
Harrow takes another drink, pretending to be indifferent to this. “Is that your attempt at flirting?”
/ Or - two bitter exes, a set of twins, a scientist and a skeptic walk into a bar...

Summary
Gideon froze on hands and knees as the gun dug into her stomach, just above her hip.
Beneath her, the woman sucked in rasping breaths made all the more difficult by the skull affixed overtop her face. Gideon could see the sharp lines of her chin, and the curve of her lower lip, and nothing else; the skull’s teeth and cheekbones obscured all other features, and the gaping sockets revealed darkness interrupted by only the briefest glimpse of the whites of the woman’s eyes.
Gideon bared her teeth, breath coming fast and tight.
“Now just why’n the hell you gotta go and-”
“Why do I have to–wait, hold on–”
“Yeah, why do you have to go sneaking up on me, damnfool y’are–”
“Wait–Griddle?”
The whites of those skull-socketed eyes grew wider. Gideon felt her stomach tighten, a welling of dread like the tickle of scorpion claws felt on the legs.
“... Ain’t no damn way.”

Summary
"You're never gonna make it, sweetheart," Gideon taunted, lips mere inches from Harrow's ear. A bead of sweat rolled down her nose and landed on Harrow's cheek.
"I am not your sweetheart," Harrow seethed. She tried to step to the side, but Gideon was right there, and they were pressed up against each other again. Harrow pushed her shoulder against Gideon's chest. She didn't budge.
(What's a sapphic fandom without a derby fic?)

Summary
It happens by accident Kojiro thinks, Kaoru’s long legs splayed across his bed so he can’t look away, made stupid by the intense summer heat and a burning desire that’s been kindling in his chest since the first time Kaoru had looked at him over his shoulder with hooded eyes. He’d looked long enough that Kaoru had noticed, had mused “you think I’m hot” and climbed right into his lap.
Kojiro had thought he’d be fussy and difficult but he’s not and Kaoru coming apart on his lap with just one brush of his hand will live in Kojiro’s mind forever.
“You like that?” Kaoru asks, breathlessly surprised all over again.
“I think I’d like anything you do to me,” Kojiro admits.
Kaoru’s eyes glitter in the low light and Kojiro never wants to look away, never wants to miss one of these moments of wonder, of Kaoru realising there’s a whole world at his feet waiting, paved by Kojiro’s eager hands.Alternatively: Kaoru’s a desperate little thing, it turns out, Kojiro’s never been more in love.
