If someone had asked 13 year old Haruno Sakura what she wanted to do with her life, she would have said something along the lines of “marry Sasuke-kun and have his babies!” and certainly not “befriend an infamous psychopath and make Sasuke-kun hate my guts!”
Alas, no one ever asked her.
Busy trying to be a decent sensei, Kakashi unwittingly gets involved in a plot that spans from the deceased fourth Hokage to Danzo himself… and completely misses the slow yet pervasive changes happening to his female student. Not until it’s too late, anyway. (He always is.)

Summary
Due to some inconsequential circumstances, Konoha learns they have a new wood release user in their hands, a young academy student named Sakura Haruno. She is placed into an apprenticeship with the only other user in the village and the world moves on.
Her life changes, whether it's for the better or the worse (she isn't quite sure yet), as she begins a tenuous relationship with jealous peers, gains more responsibilities and burdens to go in hand with more power, deals with her overbearing parents, makes a friend or a few, and goes through the normal challenges of becoming a ninja.
She can only go one step at a time. Growing is a delicate process that starts at the bottom.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. SAME LEAGUE AS 'MASKS' BY MADSTORYTELLER999 (My favorite fanfic)
I don't know why I held off reading this masterpiece for so long. The characters' dialogue is subtle and written well, the grammar has no issues, the scenes flow nicely, the plot is shocking with unexpected twists and turns, the characterization is flawless and done wonderfully, and the overall piece is so amazing. I'm so glad I read it, and I highly recommend to all Naruto fans, specifically Haruno Sakura fans.
Anyway, I hope you read and enjoy! Leave a comment if you do, I'm sure the author would love to see more support to their wonderful story!

This is my absolute favorite fanfiction. I'm blown away by the twists and turns. The mysteries, tension, and action are done impeccably. The scenes are written beautifully, and the characterization is on-point. The dialogue has skillfull subtext, and the plot is very well thought-out. I loved it. If you enjoy Sakura-centrics (especially BAMF!Sakura), you'll be blown away by the sheer awesomeness of this amazing fic.
Also, it's not completed, but it leaves me speechless and it's a masterpiece, dammit, so it deserves to be in the 'Completed Masterpieces That Leave Me Speechless" collection!ch 33

As if Tsunade couldn’t stop smirking, her face may have permanently been kept into a feline grin as soon as she heard Sakura’s report. Her apprentice, her stubborn, little apprentice defeated an S-class criminal and brought back the ring as a souvenir. The look on Jiraiya and every shinobi within range of the room – men mostly – looked at her with horrified admiration, and Gods above—retribution was so sweet. Her apprentice, who was the leader of her first – she says first because it was her first time leading – S-class mission, not only killed Sasori of the Red Sands but saved the Kazekage’s brother and receive intel on Orochimaru, all the while still retaining diplomatic ties to Suna—!
Tsunade was fucking proud.
