Summary
This story is based on a fairytale I first read as a kid - The Scarlet Flower (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Scarlet_Flower). When I heard it again a while ago, it gave me so strong Lucifer vibes that the plot demons couldn't let it go anymore. So the fairytale turned into a Lucifer fic. Of course I had to adjust some things to fit in this universe, but I kept most key points of that fairytale.

Summary
The Devil is trying to come to terms with the fact that Chloe said yes to Pierce when he is presented with an opportunity to look into the future.
The whole idea was sparked by the trailer for season 5A when I saw Lucifer and Michael clash for the first time. My first thought was 'what could be better than Tom Ellis? 2x Tom Ellis' and the naughty part of my mind went from there. Since putting Chloe and Lucifer and Michael together was not an option for me (Lucifer and Michael had their own opportunity with a stranger in Twin Kink), the only way I could think of was to use time travel.

Summary
A thought niggles in the back of her mind as she reaches the end; something feels...off. It takes walking up the other side for her to realize what it is: the interior length and the exterior don’t match up. The exterior is longer...which means—
“There’s a hidden compartment,” she mutters to herself. “So much for never lying, Lucifer.”
Chloe decides to look further into her partner's mysterious cargo container and gets much more than she bargained for. Lucifer goes to great lengths in the hopes of saving his partner. And realizes a few things about himself along the way.

Summary
"L-lucifer p-promise me…something."
"Anything Chloe…anything-"
"D-don't…come for me-"
They'd talked about this the two of them when he'd told Chloe he was going to become God. And that he was sure that that would be the thing, that would be the one thing that would mean he wouldn't be burnt himself to a crisp at the gates of the Silver City but he would do it-
"Please…don't make me do this!"
"L-ook…after...T-Trixie."
"Please-"
"P-Promise!"
Surely he was dying too, the idea of making this promise was tearing him two, simultaneously wanting to go against her wishes and fulfil whatever she wanted, and it was a promise and he'd said before she-what a bloody fool!?- "I promise," those two words, a solemn vow shuddered out of him just as Chloe let out her last breath.
