Summary
Xie Lian and Hua Cheng take their time with a lot of things. Xie Lian, for one, was beginning to understand the luxury of lying in bed and sleeping the morning away. Hua Cheng thought it was luxury to have his god draped over him like a cat seeking warmth.

Summary
The god, in his infinite silence, sealed in stone, had spoken to him without words. Understanding pierced through his feeble mind like lightning, threatening to break it into a million pieces and, at the same time, holding it together. It spoke of compassion and tenderness, but also of grief and loneliness, vast and aching, much more agonizing than any human could stand. Hua Cheng's mortal heart had lifted and broken all at once as ancient, godlike emotions, far beyond his ability to comprehend, flooded his being.

Where had that thought come from? It did not feel like his own, and yet it unfurled from the deepest, most intimate part of his soul, as though it had always been there, waiting.

“Your Highness,” one of the men said, his voice shaking slightly. “Please let this one take that off your hands. It might bite you.”
Gege laughed, loud and bright and confident. “Thank you, but he’s not going to bite me.”
Crown Prince Xie Lian saves a little mer. The two of them fall in love. When Xie Lian vanishes, Hua Cheng searches the ocean, unable to search the land. All he finds is statues at the bottom of the sea. One day, he finds a perfect statue.
