This collection has been created to gather Harry Potter fics that really delve into the mechanics of magic. This can be from the author(s) giving more background into canonical magic, creating their own, going into detail about Magic as a sentient force, expounding on creature culture, etc. The possibilities are literally endless because MAGIC! All pairings and ratings are welcome, though my personal finds will skew toward Hermione-centric.

Summary
Antonin kidnaps Hermione during the Department of Mysteries debacle, not knowing who she was, or why he needed her. Rabastan’s strange affection for Luna introduces them all to the mudblood in the dungeons. When she offers good company, they offer her a way out, but she has to die first. Antonin begins to learn that things have changed since he’s gotten out of Azkaban, and Hermione fights to complete Dumbledore’s work in order to win the war.

Hermione Granger thought that she could not possibly be surprised by anything anymore, but Theodore Nott arriving at the safe house with a perilous, last-ditch solution to the nearly-lost war against Voldemort isn't even the most unbelievable thing. The most unbelievable thing is that Theo is supposed to be dead.

The Order is losing the War. Most are dead and the ones remaining are sure to follow. Theodore Nott has a solution. Give up everything to win it all back. It's simply not the Slytherin way to run head-first at a problem, and Hermione is ready to try anything. His solution? A bit more cunning. It's one thing to run straight at the King and hope for the best, but perhaps the solution is to get rid of the pawns- one by one- first.

Instead, she is tested and trained on her ability to see things others can't--labeled as a psychic in Muggle terms. No one knows she's a witch, not even the Ministry of Magic. Follow her adventures at MI5 until the spell hiding her magic ends and a beloved Charms professor arrives to hand-deliver her letter personally.
This is the first book in a long, seven-book series. This one will be much shorter than the others since it happens before Hogwarts. Hermione's relationships aren't set in stone at this point, especially because she's so young in this book and hasn't yet been to Hogwarts. Just be warned that I tend to write and enjoy reading Hermione/Multi, so it'll probably end up being like that when we wrap up. Either way, the driving force is the plot, and less on the romance.
