“Welcome to Howlers, thanks for choosing us for your intimate dining experience tonight.” Keith parrots the usual spiel in a complete and utter monotone, only emphasizing the parts he’d been trained to. He watches in irritation as the alpha looks up at him suddenly, apparently shocked he hadn’t noticed his approach. A wide smile dawns on the alpha’s face, beaming and bright, entirely too amicable for a stranger greeting a stranger. Keith sighs under his breath. “What can I get for you?”
“Well, I was thinking-”
“I’m not on the menu.” Keith interjects suddenly, perhaps with a bit more sharpness than he should have, but his patience is wearing thin tonight. The alpha seems taken aback for all of a second, before a quiet chuckle escapes his too soft, too pink lips. Keith’s eye twitches. “You’ve only used that line three times now, it’s getting a little predictable.”

Lance looks at him with wide eyes, completely confused by the question.
“I haven’t seen Keith smile like that in a while,” Shiro explains.
Oh. That makes Lance’s stomach swirl with something strange. He really shouldn’t be catching feelings for someone the first time they meet.
“I must be really funny,” Lance offers.
