Technoblade picked up the phone without pause, a motion he repeated more than eight or nine times an hour. He wouldn't say he disliked getting calls, it was a break from his grading, but he wasn't the fondest of talking to confused students.
Techno recited his little speech into the receiver, telling the caller that they'd reached his professor's office and that they were speaking to a TA.
Through the phone, where Techno normally expected to be told of an issue, there was shuffling. A curt clack and the ring of a bell in the distance.
After a few moments of silence, Techno went to speak, but closed his mouth as music started to play through the phone. It was strange and uneven, shaky piano notes that sounded live, and it was no melody he had ever heard before. It was nothing more than six notes and a panicked breath before the phone began to hum as the line was cut off.
Techno pulled the phone away from his ear.
"What the hell?"Or
Technoblade was found four years after going missing at age eight. His younger brother never was. Ten years later, Techno started getting phone calls.

There's something clearly wrong here. And our two heroines are gonna fix this no matter what. If only their former business partner and first patron didn't get in the way.
As well as the bigger danger that looms over all of them and threatens to take Hell for themselves.
