Summary
An imagined backstory for the twin empyreans Miquella and Malenia. The story is meant to be an exploration of their emotions, their circumstances, and the things that drove them to act as they did in-game and fill in some gaps.
I follow and respect the lore in fleshing out this world. While I read item descriptions and watch lore videos all the time, I'm not an expert on the matter so please forgive the occasional slip ups. I will also be taking certain liberties where the lore isn't explicit.
The core of the story is about the intense bond that I think the twins shared and how it was strengthened, challenged, weakened, maybe eventually even got broken.

I'd love to mention that lore-confirmed information will be included and touched on, at a surface level.

Candlelight cast shifting mosaics of ruby onto the room's polished floors. Amelia closed her eyes, savouring the quiet intimacy. The rhythmic swoosh of Messmer's hands, the soft murmur of the water, the intoxicating perfume of the flowers — it was a sanctuary.
