Summary

Summary
‘Allow me to ask - are there still fireflies in Yunmeng?’ Lan Xichen writes. He has been meditating on the exact way to frame his question for a long time. The impact of seeing those words in black ink now presses like a physical weight on his chest.
‘Though such long time has passed, I hold fond memories of Jiangling to this day.’
Lan Xichen reads the whole letter several more times.
If he does not remember anymore - after all, almost 20 years have passed since that night - nothing is lost, he then tells himself, and before he can change his mind again, he seals the paper.

This is one of those fics that started with a single scene, (which is now the prologue,) and now I can’t stop writing more for it. :D
There are just so many good things to explore - the aftermath of the final canon events, how both sect leaders deal with their traumatic experiences in their individual ways, and how they can find something that they are personally lacking in the other...
Also, ghostly appearances, a night hunt gone wrong, the complications of old and new family ties and many small moments of tentative care. -

Summary
After the events of Tenjiku, Shuji Hanma gets arrested and put in jail to serve his time. This is where he reunites with Kazutora Hanemiya and discovers his willingness to forgive the past. After Hanma helps him out in a moment of need, Kazutora takes it upon himself to return the favor.
Chifuyu Matsuno had been ready to take Kazutora under his care the second he got out of jail. However, he finds himself with far more than he bargained for when he gets asked to extend his help to none other than Shuji Hanma. Unable to refuse Kazutora, Chifuyu accepts and is forced to adjust to a life with a former enemy in it.
