Summary
For Bucky, life didn’t click into place again until he saw Steve on that bridge and realized that somehow, he knew that face better than he knew himself. Steve gave him back to himself. From then on, as the memories came back to him with unexpected force, it was a slow realization to the knowledge that he couldn’t live without Steve, but that there was no way to be near Steve. Not until Bucharest.
But now, a life with Steve might be possible. Maybe not exactly the life he wants - untangling his feelings for Steve had been a messy business of its own - but a life nonetheless.
