Summary
Hyrule is at peace, or so the Royal Family would have its people believe. Something is afoot in the kingdom, and someone needs to do something about it. Least likely would be Marksmen Link Sayre- a mercenary and monster hunter doing his best to get by. Until a job goes wrong, and he gets roped into the secret plans of Hyrule's princess. Now Link must play the part of the Hero to dive deeper into the mystery, and maybe stumble into a legend of his own.

1500 years ago, Ganon won. Unbeknownst to most of the population of Hyrule, the Demon still rules.
Now completed! Part 16 is bonus material.Quick FYI on this story: it was written in 2006-2007, well before the release of Skyward Sword and Hyrule Historia, and therefore well before the canon timeline was released, or most of the official lore. I made up my own timeline for it, which incorporated pretty much all the games.
The whole Demise’s curse on the Spirit of the Hero and Hylia’s bloodline was also not a thing yet. Link was newly said to be reincarnating, that’s all we got. I assumed both Link and Zelda were reincarnating.
Thank you for reading this antique. I hope you enjoy it even if a lot of it doesn’t match the now available lore.

Summary
We elected a president and got an authoritarian. The president's voice crackles through the radio speakers as he makes his announcement: magic has been outlawed.
I’m a walking target so long as I have this wild magic. I am ruled by my fear. I keep my head bowed and hope that nobody notices me as each day passes, and so far my prayers have gone answered. This is the only thing left I have to be thankful for. The president’s motives are not mine to know, but what he wanted was clear, and he’s got it. I live in pure, unadulterated fear with my townsfolk, my co-workers, my neighbors. It’s all the same.
My only respite comes in the form of a mechanical man that's existed for centuries thanks to his magic, but releasing his soul is a daunting task. Especially when the mage that took his original body holds a prominent place in the government and swears Link Coutts killed Hylian Impressionism.

After receiving some distressing news, Ganondorf triggers the storm of the century. Unfortunately, some local goats don't handle it well and flee. Coerced by the tears of the children (and his own guilt), Ganondorf takes it upon himself to retrieve the lost creatures -- but the goats don't make it easy on him. It's a long afternoon full of jealous rage, goat rage, self-loathing and maybe even an emotional arc.

Summary
Peace in hyrule is not usually a permanent thing. With hyrule going through a renaissance of technology from both the sheikah and the the zonai both working under the throne of hyrule things seem to be well and good. In the desert things have remained calm and peaceful after negations of trade were established to better ensure the gerudos survival. However, things change when a male is finally born after a long gap since his predecessor.
Ganondorf dragmire is born with a curse in his blood and the love of his sisters in his heart, being kept in the desert until his 18th birthday he's been rather anxious to finally make his existence known to the continent at large. All while remembering glimpses of a life he's never known.
Seres is the daughter of a man elevated far beyond what any good researcher should, and being born into a point of elevation means expectation. Hyrule demands the continuation of the best, even if the best means you sit and let people decide you're future. Money and power can only cover up bad intentions for so long.
Sometimes chance encounters change everything. The moon and the stars come together after all.

A very intriguing contrast between two different walks of life. This story is still early into being told, but watching the backgrounds of both of these characters' through their youth has me excited for where their adulthood will take them.

“Link is just outside,” she whispered. “I know you don’t like him but he is my friend and he’s going to be pissed at me for weeks if he hears anything.”
Ganondorf looked at her with a raised eyebrow in challenge. “Then you are going to have to be quiet, sunlight, but there is no way I would ever let that boy stand in the way of claiming what is mine.”

The crying woman that wears the princess’s face smiles an empty smile and spreads her arms as if to greet him, or perhaps the beginning of an embrace. Her chains rattle like bones. The tear tracks left on her cheeks seem to shine in the moonlight, giving her angular features an unearthly glow. It is grotesque, yet mesmerizing. It is the most beautiful thing he's ever seen. He can’t look away.
“I am Princess Zelda,” she announces to her audience of one, and lowers her arms once more, letting them hang limply at her sides. “Or… Most of her, I suppose. I am Princess Zelda as she was intended to be.”
