Summary
When the trumpet had resounded, clear and firm as a nagging mother and holding the note for so long Renjun feared it’d never cease, he’d decided to hunt down the Horsemen. They were all here, spat out of the Heavens in a ball of fire, fallen in different parts of the globe like fiery meteors. He’d remembered the few times where he’d had his faith questioned: give me a sign, Renjun would say. And there it was. A mockery. From God.

“And why, exactly,” Renjun starts, taking his sandwich out of his bag and unwrapping it. He already regrets having asked. “Are you talking about Kun-hyung’s thighs?”
“Because, my friend,” Donghyuck says, with the air of someone about to reveal a great secret. “They’re amazing. Have you seen them?”
or: Kun's NFTs (nice fucking thighs) are the talk of the town. Renjun is intrigued.

“Do you want to go to Jeju then? Maybe we can meet my family too.”
Donghyuck held one of his hands and gave it a light squeeze. “I want to officially introduce you to them, baby."
Renjun squeezed Donghyuck’s hand back. A smile slowly etched on his lips, his cheeks turning into crimson.
“Yes, I would love that.”
Donghyuck really wants to personally introduce Renjun as his boyfriend to his family and it takes a weekend getaway to Jeju for him to make things official. -

Summary
“I,” Yangyang proudly proclaims with all the grandeur of a town crier announcing the arrival of royalty. “Am a baku.”
Renjun’s brow furrows. Huh?
"A bak-what?"
"A baku," Yangyang corrects. “Meng mo. Otherwise known as a dream eater. An ancient, mythological creature that’s been a friend to children and nightmare sufferers since the dawn of time."
Renjun takes the opportunity to scan him up and down. Yangyang's hair is an absolute mess, almost like he spent the night outdoors sleeping on Renjun's doorstep, which Renjun supposes he did. He's dressed in baggy, tie-dyed jeans today, paired with a bleached denim jacket, and is wearing a ratty university-brand hoodie underneath it. There's orange potato chip dust down his front.
"Right," Renjun deadpans.
(or: Desperate to vanquish his nightmares, Renjun turns to a self-professed sleep specialist for help. What he ends up finding is his literal dream boy, and so much more.)

Summary
Their window is cracked and left wide-open. This can only mean one thing. Mark turns to the fridge, next, and sure enough, there’s a note stuck to the front with the Eiffel Tower souvenir magnet Renjun bought on their first trip to Paris.
We’re out of milk, the note reads, in Renjun’s perfectly neat handwriting. And also, I got kidnapped again.
And underneath that, in Donghyuck’s chicken-scratch scrawl: Plz bring laundry detergent. I ran out. ☹
Mark is the greatest superhero-slash-boyfriend this side of Neo City. Or he would be, if he could just get all these villains to stop kidnapping his boyfriend. And if he could stop forgetting to pick up milk at the grocery store. That would probably be good.

Summary
In March of 2022, something odd starts happening. Out of seemingly nowhere, NCT University’s baseball team starts winning scrimmages. Like, actually consistently winning, by a large margin, which hasn’t happened since their baseball program was formed five years ago.
Their new assistant manager might have something to do with that winning streak, but it's hard to say when even Huang Renjun himself doesn't understand just how far his team will go to impress him.

Summary
The touch is already a lot for Renjun to handle, as most things with Mark and Jeno are, and yet he pushes on. This brings about a valuable lesson he’s learned throughout the course of his training—it’s drive that’s powered him through law school, that’s kept him on his toes no matter what impossible fitness program was thrown at him these past few weeks, and it’s still that very same drive that will get him fucked six ways to Sunday. There’s no turning back now. He’ll make sure of it.
(Or: Renjun is in need of some strength and conditioning. Mark and Jeno are more than happy to assist.)

Summary
His story ends halfway through the novel.
Now that he really thought about it, the death of this character was definitely oddly placed in the novel, a scene so out of the blue with no use for the plot. But does that really matter now? Probably, but not really.
He has now become Renjun Huang, the semi-villain, the background antagonist.
And if he doesn't do anything, death will be his only end.

Summary
Renjun has seen much of what the world has to offer during his long life as an undead, predictably turning to nostalgia as he paces through an exhibit at a museum. A letter he reads in a collection about love and writing brings him back to the memories, the places, and the person he once tried to leave behind.
