Chapter Text
Logan's eyes shot open, his limbs jerking immediately. Unlike last time, he was in a relatively comfortable position, finding himself lying on the bed rather than the floor, though something still felt off. He shifted slightly as he looked around the space, the clinking of metal catching his attention almost instantly. Panic surged through him as he looked to see his wrist chained to the bedpost with those same handcuffs from earlier.
His heart raced as memories from their previous argument flooded back, his knees jerking up to his chest. His fear soon shifted into something else as the room stilled, and his head jerked over to stare at the door.
There stood Wade, frozen in his tracks once he'd been spotted.
"Hey, babygirl," he began, his voice faltering. Logan didn't answer. After a second, Wade started walking again, his strides considerably weaker than usual. Whether it was because he'd strained himself earlier with all the walking or because he was nervous, it was unclear.
Logan scooted back on the bed, wrinkling the blanket beneath him. Wade shook his head.
"Sorry about that, I probably shouldn’t have..." He gestured toward his neck, making a stupid "skshhhh" sound effect through his teeth. Logan didn’t respond; he just watched.
Wade crawled onto the bed sleepily, curling himself around Logan.
Through the blinds of the room peeked the sun in its pre-rising glow, not noticeable unless you were actively looking. The room had grown chilly since the city cooled overnight, crisp, cool air still flooding through the rattling AC. Light leaked beneath the door Wade had entered through, illuminating a reverse silhouette around it.
Wade prodded at the blankets and sheets Logan had kicked aside, tugging on them and yanking them over his body.
"I fucked up, and I'm..." He paused and sighed awkwardly, gently wrapping an arm around Logan, who had begun to slink down into the bed and beneath the blanket as well—or at least as much as he could with the restraint. "My face has got plenty of scars; another one won’t hurt, y'know?"
The room was completely silent, minus the occasional sound of Logan's hand rattling the chain by accident. Oopsie daisies.
"Oh yeah, lemme get that..." Wade chuckled awkwardly, sitting up and reaching over to his nightstand. He yanked open the drawer and dug around blindly until his grip caught on the keys to the cuffs. "I’m sorry, I just didn’t want you to like... Fuck I’m so tired," Wade mumbled on and on, trying to relieve some of the tension as he clambered over Logan and released him from the cuffs.
As soon as he was free, Logan dropped his hand, flexing his fingers as if it were the first time he could use them.
"Alright..." Wade whispered, slinking back down and wrapping himself around Logan, who (albeit nervously) leaned into it as well.
There was silence for a while, so much so that Logan had assumed Wade had drifted off. His hypothesis was proven wrong when Wade started talking again.
"I’m sorry about your dream," Wade mumbled reluctantly. At this point, he just wanted to hear something from Logan. Anything. "You know... can't have two bad dreams in one night..." It was a half-chuckled offer to forget everything and just go to sleep. Logan shifted down further, now matching Wade's position in the bed, his heart sinking at the lack of a verbal response.
Logan turned to Wade, meeting his eyes. Wade's gaze danced around Logan's face, thinking back as far as he could. Had he done something else he hadn’t apologized for? Was he getting the silent treatment? Wade's attitude shifted to something more... no, defensive wasn’t the word—more tense? Timid? Something along those lines.
In one quick movement, however, Logan wrapped a firm arm around Wade and tugged him closer, pausing for the slightest fraction of a second before pressing their lips together impulsively. Wade stayed dead still, shocked at the gesture. They stayed like that for a moment before Logan pulled back to stare at the confused Wade.
"Jesus babycakes, what did I do to score that?" Wade asked, his voice higher than usual. Logan stayed quiet and half-expected Wade to continue his little silence charade.
"I don’t know," Logan replied in a mumble, trailing off.
With that, he removed his arm from Wade’s side and turned away. Wade blinked as he did so, brow furrowed in confusion. Whatever, he’d probably fallen asleep 30 minutes prior, and this was just some dream. He’d ignore it for now.
"Go to bed," Logan muttered, sounding more like himself than he had since the incident. Wade bit his lip.
"Yeah," Wade replied, now lying on his back.

As they lay in silence, Wade couldn’t help but replay the moment in his mind. You know the one. The kiss. He wasn’t too sure what he was feeling, but it was something he could definitely live with. Or maybe Logan would forget it by tomorrow; it seemed like a pretty one-off thing.
Yeah, that’s all it was.
(It wasn’t.)
