Chapter Text
Vanessa sat in a chair as she waited with Gregory. While everyone was raring to go, they determined it was best to be in their top conditions before facing off against the possessed zombie animatronic puppeteer.
With that in mind, each of the animatronics had found themselves a recharge station to fill up their batteries to max. This wouldn't take long since it was not even halfway through the night.
As they powered up, Gregory was eating his last muffin from this morning and Vanessa was drinking coffee.
There was a clear tension in the air between the two humans. Gregory may understand that she was like the others, but he wasn't entirely comfortable being alone with certain members either.
It was a bit harder to feel comfortable with her, after everything that happened.
For Vanessa, she could see how tense he was. His entire body was at the ready, sitting at the edge of his seat, prepared to run at the slightest sign of danger from her.
She wanted to thank him, but was worried so much as coughing would send him running at top speed.
So they both didn't speak as they focused on their drink and muffin, waiting for the others.
"Sunshine~!" Sun skipped over, scooping the boy up carefully and gave him a hug. "Me and Moony are back~!" He sang, still not a good singer but funny all the same.
She could see him relax once the Daycare Attendant had returned, so she took the chance while the others were away.
"Hey, Gregory right?" She said, getting his attention. "I just wanted to say, thank you. You saved me, and I don't know how I can ever repay you…I..I know you live on the streets, and I don't know if you would trust me but-"
Sun's rays shrunk as he knew what she was offering. He wanted to tell her off and tell her he and Moon had already taken care of that problem themselves, but hesitated as he wasn't sure if it was what Gregory would want.
He didn't have to wait long. "Live with you? No way! My dads are Sun and Moon anyway! If I even tried to stay at your place, I would probably never sleep from how tense I would be being around you!"
Sun's rays lit up a bit and began to slowly spin at his words, his gears and circuits tingling with joy at being picked.
Gregory frowned for a second before looking at the ground. "I'm sorry. I know you couldn't control yourself, but I still can't trust you."
Vanessa gave a sad smile as she nodded before a thought came to mind. "Then maybe I could help with that?"
"What do you mean?" Sun asked.
She held her hand out as she explained. "Well you both can't get money or buy things outside the Pizzaplex." Technically they couldn't buy anything but knew no one would notice a handful of things vanish. "I could buy things he needs if you ask.
Not to mention someone may question who his parents are, and wouldn't accept you two as his parents. So, and this would only be on paper, I could be listed as his mom while you both raise him. He doesn't need to come to my house to stay, as long as you raise him well, and I could take him places outside the Plex if he wanted or needed." She suggested.
Sun looked down at Gregory as he thought about that. The main thought he had was the idea of a hospital. Yes, he could tend to the injuries he had gotten so far, but if he ever got a worse injury like a broken bone, he wouldn't be able to help beyond first aid.
"That would be appreciated." Moon said through the Fazz watch.
As their conversation came to an end, the others began to make their way back to join up with them in Roxy Raceway. The only one who couldn't come was DJ since he was stuck on the top floor.
"Everyone ready?" Vanessa asked, downing the last of her coffee.
Everyone nodded, Gregory wiping the crumbs of his muffin as he did with Sun taking the wrapper to hold in his stomach compartment till they found a trash can.
"Let us end this." Freddy said, as they all faced the gates heading down.
