Work Text:
1. Bed
The best part about his job as (an unofficial) shinobi in Konoha is, in Sasuke's opinion, the fact that he can decline missions.
People can talk to him, Kakashi can try to coerce him by twisting words, Sakura can plead with him – but at the end of the day it's his decision whether he wants to help or not.
(He hasn't made a decision solely for himself in a long time.
It feels really good.)
So, if there's a mission that requires the assistance of high-level shinobi but Sasuke just wants to laze around for the day, he can choose the option that benefits him the most.
Which is how he finds himself in his current situation.
Sasuke's still in Naruto's orange shirt and boxers, head resting on his pillow while he watches Naruto struggle to put on his uniform.
Naruto glares at his reflection in the mirror, hands fumbling with the clasps on the side of his (ugly) green vest.
Naruto grunts, scowling at his hands (they may not be good with vests' clasps but they're really good at other stuff), and Sasuke lets a small smile grace his face.
"Need help?"
"Shut up! You stupid bastard," Naruto shoots him down immediately, not even taking his eyes off his fumbling fingers.
Sasuke holds in a burst of laughter, knowing Naruto's acting prissy because he can't avoid his duties like Sasuke can.
(Technically, they're not Sasuke's duties. Thanks to Kakashi's and Naruto’s efforts, he’s only just helping complete missions and such, since he's not exactly employed in Konoha.)
Naruto manages to secure one buckle, and sends Sasuke a smirk, gesturing at the single done clasp out of the six the vest has.
Sasuke makes sure to sound as condescending as possible when he speaks. "Good job, sweetheart. Only five more to go."
Naruto's face goes up in flames, cheeks as red as the spirals on the sides of his green sleeves. He starts sputtering, then his voice lowers to unintelligible mumbles Sasuke's sure are supposed to be insults as he finishes getting ready.
Sasuke stays in bed during the whole process, shifting once to face Naruto, but staying otherwise still.
He closes his eyes when he sees Naruto tie his hitai ate, Konohagakure front and center in the metal, ready to go back to sleep.
Then a shadow falls over him. "What, no goodbye kiss?"
He keeps his Rinnegan closed, squinting his black eye at the grinning blonde hovering over him.
He huffs, giving Naruto a quick peck on the cheek. "There. Now go."
"No," Naruto whines. "I want a proper kiss 'ttebayo."
Sasuke feels heat rise on his cheeks when Naruto pouts at him, bright blue eyes shifting from his eyes to his mouth and back.
He tsks, surging up and planting a kiss on Naruto's lips, staying there for a few seconds before letting his head fall back on the bed.
"Happy?" Sasuke glares at Naruto, who is still hovering over him, both arms planted beside his head. Naruto hums, but his gaze feels heavy all of a sudden – blue eyes shifting from a sky to an ocean, dark and deep. Sasuke frowns. "Naruto?"
"Your lips are so soft," Naruto mumbles.
"What—?"
There's no warning, no way for Sasuke to prepare, before Naruto's mouth descends on his.
Sasuke's hand snaps forward, nails digging into Naruto's thin sleeve, eyes wide. He attempts to push Naruto's bicep to make him lose balance, protests muffled by Naruto's lips.
He tries to drive his knee up Naruto's guts, but the blonde just shifts – big, rough hands grasping his legs and spreading them while Naruto sucks on his lips, licking over them.
Sasuke moans low when Naruto presses close, hips grinding down. He takes that chance to stick his tongue inside Sasuke's mouth, licking over the roof of his mouth, passing over his teeth.
Sasuke gasps, tightening his thighs over Naruto's torso, hand pushing at Naruto's shoulder.
They really shouldn't be doing this, not now because Naruto has to leave or he'll be late but Naruto's hard against his ass and he's groaning into Sasuke's mouth and it feels so good but—
"Mmph, Naruto—stop," Sasuke gasps, Naruto going lower and attaching his mouth to his jaw, giving a gentle suck.
Shit.
"You sound so good Sasuke," Naruto mutters against his jaw, switching to his neck, licking over his pulse. He's sure Naruto can feel how fast his heart's beating. "I'll be quick, promise."
Sasuke knows, from experience, that that's a particular promise Naruto can't keep.
Without Naruto's mouth in his, he can think a little clearer. "No, you have to leave now."
Naruto huffs like a petulant child, biting his neck in protest. "Sasuke—"
In less than ten seconds, Naruto's sprawled on the ground and the bathroom's door is slamming shut, the sound of chirping receding as Naruto’s deltoid muscles spasms. It takes him five seconds to understand what just happened – Sasuke sparked his shoulder with the start of the Chidori, sending an electric shock through his arm, literally. Now he’s laying on the ground like an idiot while his aggressive boyfriend locks himself in the bathroom.
Naruto licks his lips free of Sasuke's spit, and hums. He debates how much it would be worth following after Sasuke (the answer is, as always, very) when the Uchiha's voice comes through the door.
"Have fun with Kakashi's scolding, dead last!" Followed by the sound of the shower turning on.
Naruto groans.
He's totally going to receive more paperwork once he returns.
2. Kitchen
The only sounds echoing in the room are the rhythmic thumps of the knife when it comes in contact with the chopping board, and the bubbling of the water in the pot.
Naruto is in the other room, preparing for an oncoming summit with Shikamaru acting as a reluctant tutor while Kakashi sits with his ridiculous book offering unnecessary commentary.
Sasuke, like the good boyfriend he sometimes is, decided to be an exemplary host and use the manners his mother implanted on him by cooking a meal for the idiot, the pervert and the hard working man sharing one of the rooms.
Something not too heavy, consisting mainly of soft meats and steamed vegetables. A quick and easy-to-prepare meal. It doesn't require too much effort, allowing Sasuke to lose himself in the repetitive motions of chopping, slicing, boiling, sizzling – then repeat.
It goes like that for a few minutes after the three men lock themselves in the room.
That's all his peace lasts for. A few measly minutes.
The heavy warmth of Kurama's chakra is his only warning before a hand is patting the back of his thigh. It's the type of chakra release that comes with a certain type of mood.
"Have I ever told you how good your ass looks in those?"
Sasuke rolls his eyes, accepting the kiss on his cheek without offering a response. He keeps his eyes and hand on the knife he's using.
(The answer is yes, of course. Naruto seems unable to stop himself from commenting on how good whatever part of his body looks at any given point in time – especially when covered with certain clothing.
It's awfully endearing.
It's stupid.)
"What're you making?" Naruto hooks his chin over his shoulder, peering down at the pot containing several vegetables – he scrunches his nose at the sight of them. "Why're there so many veggies?"
"I'm making steamed vegetables, and you're going to eat them—" Sasuke glares at Naruto, trying to shake him off – the blonde doesn't move. "—with meat and some rice."
Naruto sticks his tongue out, in a ridiculously familiar gesture, reminiscent of their genin days when all he wanted was to annoy him, and Sasuke offers him a piece of mostly cooked meat to hold him off.
(And placate Kurama, in case the bijuu decides to join forces with Naruto and gang up on him.
He's very physically strong, but he doesn't have the kind of strength he needs to hold them off for long.)
"Did Shikamaru let you go?"
"No, I did not. I'm grading his papers soon." Shikamaru walks out of the hallway, leveling an unimpressed stare at the blonde plastered to Sasuke's side.
Shikamaru stops by the island, where the tea set is, raising his eyebrows, and Sasuke nods to his unspoken question.
"I'll go there after I finish here. Naruto, get off," he snaps when Naruto keeps his arms around his waist, chest pressed to his only arm.
"I don't want you to," Naruto whines, moving so his arm is free. "You're only going to offer unnecessary commentary."
"So will I, and you haven't complained thus far." Kakashi's eyes crinkle as he speaks, giving away the smile hidden by his stupid, useless and absolutely ridiculous mask.
(He's not bitter they still don't know what the fuck is under it.
He's not.)
"I wouldn't be able to make you leave," Naruto mutters.
"Ma, you know you love having me there," Kakahi says, Shikamaru passing by him with two cups of tea in hand. Kakashi turns and grabs a cup, following Naruto's future advisor.
"I don't want to hear any weird noises, please."
Sasuke takes approximately five seconds to get it, then his face goes up in flames.
Naruto's silence is concerning.
His hands haven't left Sasuke's waist. Now that they're alone, he can feel the warmth seeping through the light material of his shirt.
He's glad there's no skin available (yet) for Naruto's fingers to touch, he wouldn't be able to hold back his shiver otherwise.
Naruto waits until the knife is out of the way, the pot with the simmering vegetables inside covered with the lid, meat sizzling in a low fire – before he gives in.
Sasuke's a little surprised he even waited that long.
Naruto turns them around, forcing Sasuke into the island, stomach pressing uncomfortably against the edge.
Naruto tightens his arms around his waist, chest aligning with the curve of his back, breath ruffling the hairs on the nape of his neck.
They're not alone, Kakashi and Shikamaru are just a few feet away, and with the house as silent as it is they will definitely be able to hear everything that happens here – yet, Sasuke can't bring himself to push him away.
They're both almost the same height, but Naruto has always seemed larger, bigger. Not just in body, either.
It never ceases to amaze him just how oppressive Naruto's presence is. How it commands the room, without a single word, how it engulfs Sasuke’s own body like armor, the sense of security it brings him by proximity alone.
It sucks the fights out of him.
"You smell really good," Naruto mumbles, face pressed to his nape.
“Mm, yeah? It's probably the meat,” he jokes.
Naruto has said that getting along with Kurama has heightened some of his senses, like smell and hearing. It's not as keen as Kakashi's, but it's better than a normal human's nose. It has an . . . interesting effect on him when he sticks his face in his neck or anywhere in his legs.
An effect that cannot happen today, at this moment.
First of all, the food is still on the stove, fire alight under the pots with the meat and vegetables very much still cooking. Growing closer to being done then being burnt with each passing second.
Second – they have company.
“You know it's not that,” Naruto rasps, pressing even closer.
The edges of the island dig into his hips, Naruto's body making contact with his own from their thighs to their chest and back. It's impossible to get even closer, yet Naruto seems determined to make it happen by sheer force of will.
. . . Sasuke isn't too keen on stopping him.
Five minutes later finds Sasuke with his chest fully resting on the island countertop, cheeks pink as Naruto noses and kisses and bites at his neck.
His next exhale comes out broken and shaky, the feeling of a hand – rough and coarse with bandages – creeping underneath his pants making goosebumps rise in his skin. The hand slides around his thigh once, twice, petting the area before settling on the side and squeezing.
Sasuke closes his eyes against the rising warmth pooling in his gut.
“I fuckin’ love your legs,” Naruto murmurs, voice rough. He feels a kiss being pressed behind his ear, then something wet and hot, followed by a stinging sensation that makes him tense up. He exhales a low moan, squirming in place.
“Really? I would've never guessed,” he sighs, with the hint of a smirk.
He has to take advantage that his brain hasn't completely left him yet.
(Somewhat.
He's pretty sure he can smell smoke in the air, but he's currently preoccupied with better things to give it much thought.)
Naruto groans when Sasuke pushes his hips back, rubbing against him.
“You know I do, Teme,” the blonde whines, gripping his thigh tighter. Sasuke shudders.
“Mm, maybe I don't. Perhaps you should show me?” He says, cheeky. He can feel Naruto huff a laugh behind him.
“Fine, then. I will—”
“Naruto!”
The yell comes from right in front of them, and they snap their heads up to see a very exasperated-looking Shikamaru. His eyes scream disapproval, his crossed arms and the papers he holds full of red markings show disappointment.
Sasuke can feel how Naruto physically deflates. All of him.
(It makes him feel a little disappointed too.)
“Back inside the room, now. Keep it in your pants.” Shikamaru admonishes Naruto, getting out a cigarette and immediately taking a big inhale, as if this is the biggest inconvenience he's had to deal with so far.
Sasuke scrunches his nose at the smell.
Then he realizes that the food is, in fact, burning.
He turns around and pushes Naruto away with more force than necessary, reaching for the knobs in the stove and lowering the flames until they're gone. He stares critically at the scorched meat and blackened vegetables.
“Dammit.”
Kakashi makes a humming noise from somewhere behind him. “So, no home-cooked meal today?”
Sasuke glares at the man with red and purple eyes.
3. Storage closet
Being crammed inside a storage closet full of boxes and stray papers is not a fun activity to be doing in the middle of the day; much less when said closet is inside the Hokage Tower, the Hokage is less than twenty feet away and there's kissing involved.
But no one can truly defy the force that is Uzumaki Naruto when he's determined.
(Not that he actually wants to.)
Sasuke grunts when Naruto keeps going forward, shelves digging uncomfortably against his back.
"Naruto," Sasuke mumbles, barely pulling away from the blonde.
Naruto hums, keeping Sasuke pressed against the uncomfortable metal shelves. The blonde kisses his lips once, twice, before moving down to his jaw. Sasuke squirms against the dull edges digging into his back, accidentally kicking a box on the floor. Papers and books shuffle inside.
Sasuke hides a grimace.
(He thought he’d be able to handle this, but nothing about this place is comfortable enough to even give a blowjob.)
He is not having sex inside a storage closet this small and uncomfortable. He is an Uchiha and as such, he still has his pride and a little bit of decorum left in him. Enough to try and resist Naruto’s advances.
Try, because Naruto has no intentions of cooperating with him.
Horny bastard.
“Naruto—Naruto,” Sasuke groans when Naruto sneaks a hand down to grab his ass. In any other situation, he wouldn’t be bothered by it (he’s well aware about Naruto’s favorite parts of his body after all), but here it’s just annoying. He can feel that Naruto’s hand is wedged between the shelves and pressing against some books. He doesn’t know how the idiot isn’t complaining. “Stop it.”
“No,” Naruto says, sucking hard enough to make him shudder involuntarily. “I missed you.”
“Me too, but this is not the place—mmfph.”
Sasuke’s going to run him through with his sword.
He allows Naruto to get his fill for a whole minute, opening his mouth when a hot tongue passes over his lips, surrendering his body to the warm and strong arms holding him tight.
Then he shoves at Naruto hard enough that he smacks his head on the wall behind him.
“Ow, hey! That hurt!”
“Good.” Sasuke cocks his hip, resting his hand on top. “We are not fucking inside this tiny closet.”
“But it's been so long,” Naruto whines. “And I missed you!”
“I did too. I'm still not letting you.”
“Pretty please? Just kissing, Sasuke, come on.”
Naruto's hand wraps around his elbow, pulling him forward. Sasuke lets himself fall against Naruto's chest, but avoids all of Naruto's attempts at putting his mouth on him. “We never stop at just kissing, Naruto.”
“We will this time! Promise!”
He'd laugh at Naruto's earnest attitude if it didn't mean giving in. The mere act of his mouth twitching in an attempt to avoid a smile will be fatal – Naruto will believe he has a chance, that he can break Sasuke down to get what he wants.
But he can't. Sasuke is staying firm in this.
(Naruto will get his way, one way or another.)
“No, we won't. Drop it.”
“Okay, you're right, we won't.” Naruto nods in agreement, and Sasuke has a suspicion he will not like what Naruto will say next. He's right. “We'll be quick. You can even touch yourself!”
Sasuke chokes on his own breath, eyes going wide as heat rises on his face. “What?”
Naruto hugs him tighter, blue eyes shining in excitement. “Our first ever quickie!”
“You are not going to fuck me in an—”
Bright light interrupts Sasuke, eyes squinting against the sudden illumination. When his eyes adjust, all the color leaves his face when he sees Kakashi standing there, eye creased up in a smile.
"Ka—Kakashi-sensei!" Naruto yelps, face flushing an impressive shade of red.
The man nods, still keeping up the facade of a smile. “The one and only. Now, if you two are done, I'd like Sasuke's mission report now.”
Sasuke nods, mind running a hundred miles a minute.
Okay, it's not too bad. Maybe he didn't listen to the conversation. There's a chance the door and walls are thick enough to muffle the sounds inside. It's entirely plausible.
Until Kakashi opens his mouth again.
“If you're going to have sex inside a closet, may I recommend a bigger one? This one has a higher chance of resulting in injuries, though if that's what you're into I won't judge.” Kakashi walks away, and Sasuke drives his elbow directly to Naruto’s gut.
He grunts in pain, doubling over. "That hurt, teme!" Good.
Asshole.
4. Sparring
Fighting Naruto is a different kind of rush.
He barely feels the pain of the punches, only the points of contact register. The trees around them stop existing, the ground falls away, the crackling of the Chidori and swishing of the Rasengan falls on deaf ears. Only the blue of Naruto's eyes exist – the manic glint that he sees in them when bloody reds overpower gentle blues.
He concentrates on the electricity that sparkles between them when Naruto's skin makes contact with his, on the warmth he feels when he catches Naruto's loving stares in the midst of fighting. The way his heart races when Naruto gets too close, the tingling that flares in his navel when Naruto grabs him and swings him around like he weighs fucking nothing.
Naruto's so distracting at the worst times. Fuck him.
So.
It shouldn't surprise him (and it doesn't, not really) when it only takes Naruto five more minutes. A punch he barely dodges. A choke hold that made his brain go blank for just enough time. Then a swipe of his legs.
Next time Sasuke blinks, his view is filled with endless blue mixed with moving spots of soft white. Familiar round blues pop into his vision, a different type of sun shining above him. His heart skips a beat.
“I won!” Naruto crows, smile tilting – wild and unrestrained, like this was the most fun he's ever had. Sasuke feels his face get hot. It is the middle of the day after all.
“Hmph. I let you.” Sasuke lets his usual arrogance shape his voice, even if it isn't what he truly feels. He can't let Naruto win so easily.
(He can't let Naruto find out just how much it turned him on to be in his a chokehold, can't let him know he wants it again – wants those stupidly strong arms wrapped around him, holding firm, wants those bulging muscles cutting off his oxygen, thick fingers encircling his waist, grabbing his thighs and leaving dark fingerprints on them, locking—
But no.
He won't tell him yet.
. . . Maybe in a few minutes.)
“No, you didn't! I totally got you with that chokehold, y'know!” Naruto sticks his tongue out at him.
Yeah, because you're so hot you make me lose my damn mind.
Outwardly, Sasuke scoffs, ignoring the rising heat in his cheeks.
“In your dreams. I just wanted to see what you would do.” It sounds weak even to his ears, but he has to get out of here before he does something embarrassing like rut up against his idiot boyfriend in the middle of a public training area.
Because he can feel it, the urge growing the longer Naruto keeps himself above him. It settles in his stomach, static traveling across all his limbs for a second. It leaves him feeling tingly all over.
“You're such a liar, Teme.” Despite his words, Naruto's staring at him like he's in a daze.
He knows, instinctively, that his sharingan is on, red overriding black at some point during his poorly concocted lie – not just because everything's suddenly clearer, colors brighter, but simply Naruto's reaction.
Eyes wide, mouth parted, focused so intently on him when he mutters, “Beautiful.”
It really doesn't help with how much Sasuke's feeling right now, and he has to hold in a moan when Naruto's eyes flash red.
(He really should get a hold of himself.)
“I'm gonna kiss you now,” is the only warning he gets.
Sasuke can't help the twitch of his hips when Naruto presses their lips together immediately after.
He tastes like warmth, sunlight and ramen – it's all so distinctly Naruto, that Sasuke smiles against Naruto's mouth, throwing his arm around the blonde’s neck.
The kiss remains sweet for a while, it serves to make the heat that had been pooling inside him to lower, leaving him feeling pleasantly warm all over. The kind that made his cheeks flush when Naruto's eyes turned all soft and stupid every time he stared at him.
It remained like that, romantic and the kind of kisses that princesses dreamt of getting from their prince, until Naruto's hips twitched, pressing down on him, and suddenly Sasuke remembered why he'd ended up on his ass in the first place.
Then the kiss wasn't slow and unhurried anymore.
Between one moment and the next, they were trying to come closer together – his arm tightening, one of Naruto's hand sliding under to pull him up, the other making home on his waist – every part of their bodies touching, kissing like their life depended on it, like they'd never get another chance to be like this ever again.
The air was charged around them, their combined chakras altering the very oxygen they breathe, the ground cracking underneath them, where they were most connected.
Sasuke couldn't bring himself to care.
“Shut up,” Naruto grunts.
Sasuke guessed the words were directed towards Kurama, because the next thing out of Naruto's mouth was a moaned version of his name that made his body temperature rise several concerning degrees and a, “You're so good to me,” as Naruto kept grinding on him.
He was making these aborted thrusts, accompanied by punched out groans, like keeping this minimal shred of modesty was physically painful for him. Sasuke lets his legs fall open, making space for Naruto to get even closer.
Naruto takes it, giving a roll of his hips so good and right there followed by a sound so animalistic he fears Kurama is out, eyes flashing red – and Sasuke's immediately gone.
If Naruto were to start getting rid of their clothes Sasuke wouldn't protest. He may even beg for Naruto to go faster, and he's so deep inside his head that he wouldn't feel embarrassed about it.
He drags his feet against the dirt when he feels sharp teeth nipping his skin, closing his eyes with a soft sigh.
He wants Naruto to keep kissing him, he wants Naruto to put his mouth on him, he wants Naruto to bruise him, he wants—
“Sasuke-kun! Naruto-kun!”
Naruto lifts his head from where he'd been mouthing at Sasuke's throat, staring off in the direction the yell came from, blue eyes blown wide and impossibly dark. He looks so hot, his stupid handsome features enhanced even more by the burning sun and reddened skin.
Whoever interrupted them better have a good damn excuse, or Sasuke will have to commit murder once again.
When Naruto sends him a baleful look, getting out from between his legs (damnit), and Sasuke sees the flash of obnoxious pink hair heading their way, the fire burning in his gut suffers a sad and abrupt death.
(Later, Sasuke knows he doesn't blame her, a public training area isn't a place for debauchery, but with the way things were going . . . well, Sasuke's currently mourning a devastating loss.)
5. Festival
This is humiliating, Sasuke thinks as he stares around him at all the bright lights, joyous laughter following everywhere he goes.
How did he end up here anyways? Oh, that’s right. It’s Naruto’s fault, just like most things that make him feel. He’d vehemently protested against coming to this stupid festival, which held no purpose other than to celebrate the coming of Spring (something stupid to celebrate or make so much fuss about, but whatever), but Naruto wouldn’t take no for an answer.
The bastard spent two fucking days clinging to him, begging, using his stupid blue wide-eyed gaze, using words Sasuke wasn’t aware the idiot knew the meaning of – and because Naruto was an expert manipulator (maybe even better than Itachi), Sasuke ended up agreeing halfway through the third day of non-stop incessant nagging, to Naruto’s suspiciously subdued delight.
Sakura, minutes after Naruto told her that he’d be going “willingly”, came to have a talk with him. She knew he didn’t actually want to go, but she also knew Naruto was going to drag him along through any possible methods. So, she’d told him to “make the most of it, and have fun with his appearance.”
Which he did.
He spent an hour in front of a mirror in his and Naruto’s shared room, looking at his hair and newly bought silks and accessories. He’d gotten cool colors for himself – blues and purples – and warm, bright colors for Naruto – yellows, reds and oranges.
He’d waited until Naruto was finished dressing up to get in the shower, a deliberate choice that would ensure Naruto was bored and ready to leave the room by the time Sasuke started organizing his layers of clothing. As predicted, Naruto started whining about how slow Sasuke was being halfway through Sasuke pulling apart his outfit, so he waved the blonde away with a “I’ll catch up to you later.”
Naruto had looked skeptical (with reason, Sasuke could just decide to stay inside after he left), but a smile and a kiss had been enough to reassure Naruto, and he went away.
He’d dressed with a thin red robe as his first piece, forgoing the hakama pants (he sensed it’d grow hotter. And a few hours later, he’d realize he made the right choice), throwing a deep purple kimono that was just too big for him – it was adorned with swirling ferns and glittery wisteria petals. He slipped on his black haori, with a fading white uchiwa on the back, tied together with a light gray obi.
He’d put on ankle-length white socks, and black sandals.
Then, before he could think twice about it, he’d used red eyeshadow on top of a barely noticeable curve of eyeliner. He’d stared at the mirror, barely recognizing the person staring back. He’d used gloss, because it was right there, and he knew his mind had been made when that fact registered.
He’s not one to care too much about his appearances, as long as the clothes are his style, fit for the occasion, and the right colors, he can put on almost whatever. But he’s not above admitting that this one time he wanted to look better, more elegant – prettier.
(Maybe, he wants Naruto to be the speechless one, for once.)
But that was a while ago.
Currently, the overly bright lights are making his eyes hurt, he cringes every time kids pass him laughing too loudly, he recoils just in time to not be touched by all the civilians (he needs to remind himself they’re civilians whenever he gets . . . violent urges), and the heat got too much, so he took off the upper part of the black haori, the lower part staying in place thanks to the obi.
He’s hungry and annoyed and thirsty and late, all made worse by the fact he has yet to see Naruto.
If he doesn’t find him within the next twenty minutes Sasuke is going back inside their shared room, change into something far more comfortable, and go to sleep early. Then, first thing in the morning, describe in perfect detail his outfit, makeup included. It will make Naruto feel distraught, which Sasuke feels will be a fitting punishment for all the pains the idiot is currently making him go through.
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨️
It may not be ramen, but the food here tastes awesome, in Naruto’s very objective opinion.
He has tried and failed to locate a stall where ramen is being served, so he’s been jumping from stand to booth to stall to restaurants offering bite-sized snacks since he arrived. Most of the food is either fried or sweet, but Naruto’s sure Sasuke would definitely like a few of the things. He’s memorized the stands in which he knows Sasuke would like the food of (well, more like he made Kurama keep tabs of them but semantics), so they could visit them later.
He knows Sakura, Shikamaru and some of their friends are somewhere around here, they all came together, but he eventually left them to wander around as he waited for Sasuke to finally arrive. Which he hasn’t yet.
Huh. Weird.
Sasuke, despite how much he may complain, is always on time no matter what it is they will do. He doesn’t arrive late to spite him either. It’s one of the things Naruto discovered early on when Sasuke started staying longer periods of time in Konoha.
He should already be here.
Naruto finishes his kaarage, throwing away the paper cup in his hand and walking in the direction of the entryway – the only space not fully obscured by stalls or large trees, surrounded by colorful flowers and lit up with warm lighting.
He extends his chakra, sensing for Sasuke.
There's hundreds of people here – children, adults, babies, grandparents, official workers for the Hokage, even animals; yet, Naruto still finds Sasuke with an ease that comes as second nature to him.
He's standing still somewhere near the games, no doubt thinking Naruto would be attracted to that area first – and he's right. Naruto's attention was immediately caught by the huge prizes and plenty of games, but Naruto had wanted to explore it with Sasuke (and maybe win something for him) so he'd skipped that area altogether.
Sasuke's chakra flickers with something he's learned to categorize as impatience, not at him, simply at his situation, so he hurries his walk. He knows, by experience, that if he makes Sasuke wait for much longer, the Uchiha will leave.
He doesn't want that.
It takes him maybe three minutes to reach the games’ area.
It takes him a single sweep with his eyes to catch sight of Sasuke.
He swears his heart stops.
Sasuke looks . . . gorgeous.
No. Even that word falls short to the way Sasuke looks tonight. He's always been beautiful, and Naruto makes sure to tell him every day. He's sure Sasuke is well aware of his appearance, but he's also sure Sasuke loves it when Naruto compliments him, so he does (not that he'd ever stop).
Sasuke always carries this . . . elegance with him.
Like the rest of the world is beneath him – like the rest of the world is lucky simply because he exists (and they are, in Naruto's totally unbiased opinion). Every movement he makes is graceful, no matter if it's in a fight or doing such a simple thing like walking.
He's always possessed that natural beauty, from the moment they first saw each other at the Academy, through their time as genin and then later on throughout the war (no one should look that hot while bleeding) up until now, and it will last even after their deaths.
But today, now . . .
Gods. He's a sight.
Sasuke has a deep purple kimono on, with several layers underneath in whites and reds – it has a flowery design colored in bright gray that seems to shine underneath the lights spread around the festival. The obi, the shade of purple the kimono has, the black haori with the uchiwa on the back half on. It all adds to his beauty in such a way that he's left awestruck.
Yet, that doesn't compare to the sensation that runs through his entire body when he sees Sasuke's face (set in his usual scowl, of course).
Makeup.
Sasuke's wearing makeup.
Sasuke's wearing makeup
Sasuke's wearing makeup.
It loops inside his brain for a full minute, over and over and over until the words lose all meaning separately but causes something to shut down inside of him when put together.
Even from here, he can see every detail. The deep, bright red eyeshadow adding color to Sasuke's face, the pinkish hue of his cheeks due to the heat, and his lips.
Fuck, his mouth.
It looks bright and shiny, the lamps overhead reflecting on Sasuke's beautiful lips, giving them a faint sheen of color. They look just like when Naruto licks and bites at them, when he spends seconds and minutes and hours savoring them.
Right now, under the moonlight, Sasuke looks blessed by the moon goddess. Dripping with her beauty like it costs him nothing, shining like he was personally touched by her hand, every crevice of his body sculpted until it fit the image of the angels of Lady Mikoto shared in children's stories.
He looks more than perfect, more than divine – he looks ethereal and Naruto needs to have him now.
In ten long strides he's standing right beside Sasuke, momentarily floored by how impossibly better Sasuke looks up close. It should be illegal.
Sasuke glowers at him, unaware of the internal turmoil he's causing Naruto right now. “Idiot, about damn time. I was going to leave if you had made me wait here another minute.”
Naruto has no doubt he would have. “That's why I came here the moment I sensed you. I know you too well, y'know.”
He's talking but he isn't paying attention to what's coming out of his mouth, too busy staring at Sasuke's face – it resembles a delicate porcelain doll with its pale complexion and the bright red accentuating his features in the best possible way.
Hell, for all he knows he could be talking in gibberish. He wouldn't care, anyways. They won't be talking for long.
There's a familiar restless energy hot wiring his nerves, lighting them up and making him feel a certain buzz in the tips of his fingers, it's urging him to touchtouchtouch.
And he's always been someone driven by instinct first and foremost.
Sasuke's brows furrow. “What's with that look on—Hey!”
He snatches Sasuke's arm before he's done speaking, leading towards the nearest tree that's far enough people will have to actually look to spot them. The trunk is big and wide and just the right size to press Sasuke against, so he does.
Sasuke lets out a muffled grunt when Naruto pushes, as if he were trying to meld him against the tree.
“You're such a brute, you know that?”
Naruto nods with a sound of acknowledgement, not really listening. His ears feel stuffed with cotton, there's static humming under his skin, his blood tingling as he smooths his hands down the silky robe and marvels at its softness, knowing there's even more softness hidden by those layers of clothing.
They need to go.
Naruto needs.
“Are you even listening?”
Sasuke's voice cuts through his fantasies of the many uses he could give each article of clothing, starting with the obi and eyes too pretty to be real.
“You're divine, y'know?” He says in lieu of an answer.
Sasuke's beautiful, perfect features morph into confusion – black and purple shiny eyes highlighted by bright red and cheeks a pretty pink and lips soft and delicate and shiny and pinkish and Naruto can't hold back anymore.
He surges forward, one hand staying on the soft material of the purple kimono, the other going straight to his cheek, soft and pale and smooth.
He swipes his tongue across Sasuke's glossy lips, giving another lick when he tastes strawberry. He wishes it was an actual color, so he could see it smushed around his mouth, so it could leave marks in his own mouth.
(His mind gives him an image – Sasuke on his knees, eyes misty and tearing up, lips parted decorated bright in color, mouth hot and slick, leaving a dark red thin ring around his—
Shit.)
(He will need to buy lipstick for Sasuke. Urgently.)
He settles for tasting the strawberry in those pink, soft lips.
He slides his right hand upwards, bandages scratching Sasuke just the right way, making him shudder, up up up up until he reaches his silky black locks of the softest hair ever. He tangles his hand in those back strands, smoother than the robes they're wearing, and gives a light pull.
Sasuke's head cranes back the tiniest bit. His pretty, beautiful, gorgeous boyfriend gives a surprised moan, high and airy and soft – it goes straight to his cock, already straining against his underwear.
He winds his hand around Sasuke's waist, pulling him forward. He whimpers when he feels Naruto’s erection through the thin layers covering them both.
Naruto keeps touching him, licking and biting and sucking at his lips and slipping his tongue inside Sasuke's warm, slick mouth when he can, giving small aborted thrusts to where he's pressed against Sasuke, for what feels like hours. He doesn't want to stop, he wants to strip Sasuke right here and fuck him under the light of the moon.
Fuck him until he's crying. Fuck him until his eyeshadow is ruined. Fuck him until their robes are all spread across the floor, until the paleness of his skin glows under the silver glow of the night, until his body gives out and his voice breaks and he's screaming and he's forgotten his name.
Sasuke looks too pretty and Naruto wants to ruin him.
He can already feel Sasuke giving in, his body giving the telltale signs of his submission – the way his body goes limp in his arms, the way his hand clenches on the back of his neck, the way his moans grow in volume and his voice grows higher, the way he merely whimpers when Naruto sticks his tongue inside his mouth once more.
“Shit, Sasuke,” he groans into the raven's mouth when short nails scratch at his scalp.
“Naruto—mmng,” Sasuke whimpers when Naruto sucks his upper lip.
“Gonna fuck you,” he murmurs, mouth barely separating from Sasuke's to speak before he's on him again. Sasuke's ensuing moan is agreement enough for him.
He starts fumbling with the obi, already picturing Sasuke on his back as the moonlight showers him with its glittery glow, when someone decides they want to die.
“Oi, Naruto! There you are! We were looking for you man.”
Naruto, with a willpower he didn't know he possessed, puts a few centimeters of distance between his face and Sasuke's.
The sight – Sasuke's eyes shiny and wide, dark splotches of red going from one cheek to the other, his mouth pink and swollen, lips shiny and sticky with spit – makes his dick twitch.
“Damnit.”
He curses Kiba to hell and back and then some, praying for an accident to befall him before the man reaches them so Naruto can thoroughly devour the pretty boy in front of him – but no such luck.
“The fireworks are about to start, Sakura sent me to get you. And Sasuke.”
Kiba adds Sasuke's name as an afterthought, as if mentioning him was barely worth the effort. It makes him bristle, and he imagines, for one blissful second, that he decks Kiba in the face for the blatant disrespect.
But he acts civilized, like a “proper Hokage ought to do”.
He nods and shoots Kiba a smile. “Sure. We'll be right there.”
Naruto waits until Kiba is a few spaces away before he steals another kiss from Sasuke, then leaning in to whisper in his ear, “We'll continue this at the inn, sweetheart.”
He feels Sasuke's full-body shiver, hears the barely suppressed moan.
Naruto smiles triumphantly, already picturing how he's gonna have his pretty boyfriend against the door of their room.
+ Engawa
He feels warm everywhere – where the wooden flooring makes contact with his back, where the sunlight reaches his face from above, where his heart lies, molten sweet with all the words Naruto dedicated to him a few days ago.
The way he'd looked when Sasuke said yes, accepted his invitation to remain by his side forevermore, a promise he doesn’t intend to break, not even in death.
Sasuke stopped wondering how long Naruto had that little surprise planned for when he saw the house.
After Naruto’s waterworks and Sasuke’s close call with said waterworks himself, they’d left the festival immediately after, spending the night on the bed of the inn, blue eyes overflowing with joy and black and purple eyes shining obsidian with the joy from a promised future he’d never allowed himself to dream for.
They traveled back to Konoha with the first rays of the sun. He’d been confused when they bypassed Naruto’s apartment, but his blonde fiance (oh by the gods holy shit) only sent him a reassuring smile so Sasuke let himself be led.
Then he saw it.
A beautiful traditional house a little on the outskirts of the village, surrounded by trees and a running river, a small koi pond on the back. He did a mini tour, and when he saw Naruto's nervous smile as he stood in the entryway, Sasuke allowed the tears to fall down.
Apparently, he’s been building the house since he decided to propose, to have this little piece of themselves, a perfect mix of Sasuke’s calm and free nature and Naruto’s wild and bright personality, in this secluded space where Sasuke doesn’t feel the pressure of a village he still doesn’t quite accept but has hopes for.
It’s been a week, and he still feels a little high on all the things he’s been feeling lately, so he’s well aware he’s being very agreeable – doesn’t protest as much and he’s been insulting Naruto less. Pesters Naruto less about his bad habits and always, always falls asleep with a smile on his face.
(It’s not going to last, but he decided to go through the honeymoon phase now instead of in the actual honeymoon after the wedding. They have this place for them and only them, Sasuke has a suspicion that won’t be the case after they’re married.
Gods, they're getting married.)
He's pliant and feeling so calm and he's near high with the excitement of getting to be a proper family with Naruto, at last, that he hadn't protested at all when Naruto kissed him until his brain shut down.
He hadn't said anything when Naruto carried him out the open shoji doors leading outside. He'd merely sighed in contentment when Naruto laid him down on the engawa, sunlight seeping through the cracks created by the leaves gently flowing with the wind.
Every part has been soft and unhurried, everywhere Naruto touches him lighting up with the warmth from Naruto's love, his skin tingling with the aftermath of the delicacy Naruto showers him with.
“Hah, mmn.”
His head thumps on the wood under him when Naruto gives a particularly sharp thrust, disrupting the slow rhythm he'd set at first. Sasuke wraps his legs tighter around the blonde’s hips, pulling him closer.
Naruto grunts, his brows furrowed as sweat builds on his forehead, yet his eyes are bright and overflowing with love when they meet his own – Sasuke's breath gets stuck in his chest.
Even now, the force of Naruto’s love feels too big, too overwhelming. He feels undeserving, still, despite the fact he's over the moon with Naruto’s proposal following the firework show last week.
He closes his eyes and raises his hips, trying to get Naruto in deeper.
Naruto, always in tune with Sasuke's feelings and emotions, takes the hint. His hips pull back almost painfully slow, shifting his position a little, then snaps his hips forward. Sasuke chokes on a gasp when Naruto's cock immediately hits his prostate. His thighs tighten unconsciously around Naruto's waist.
Naruto repeats the motion once.
Twice.
Thrice.
Until he's built up a new rhythm of dragging his cock out of Sasuke, making him feel every inch, every vein, and then burying inside with a single movement.
It's rough and fast and hot and so different from the lovemaking from just a minute ago and this, this Sasuke can deal with.
He doesn't bother to quiet his sounds, knowing how much Naruto loves to hear him and that this far from the center of the village no one will listen to the way his voice goes all high and breathy and Naruto punches his prostate with his cock repeatedly.
He makes sure to tighten up inside every time Naruto snaps his hips forward, making the slide feel more pleasurable. This way he can feel Naruto even more, it makes his legs tremble and voice crack on a gasp.
“Shit, S'uke, you're so tight.” Naruto moves his hands from their position besides his head to his waist, big, tanned hands fitting perfectly against his pale, smooth skin. “You feel so fucking good,” the blonde groans, eyes flickering red, as he watches his flat stomach bulge the slightest bit with the outline of his cock.
He pulls back, then slams in to the hilt at the same time he pulls Sasuke towards him. Sasuke wheezes, mouth falling open.
“Nngh—! Naruto!”
He doesn't get a chance to catch his breath as Naruto uses him as his own personal toy, bouncing him back on his cock in time with his thrusts. The only thing he can do is squeeze Naruto whenever he drives in, so he does.
It all feels so fucking good – Naruto’s cock hitting his prostate in every thrust, Naruto’s big hands on his waist, fingers digging in, the roughness of his voice. A few more thrusts and he can feel that familiar feeling growing in his gut, a different type of heat. He's so close—
“You're so good to me S'uke,” Naruto grunts, and the praise washes over him like a wave, dragging him deeper under. Then—“You'll be the best wife, baby.”
That's all it takes.
He feels himself tighten, whole body going rigid as he reaches his peak, mouth open in a long drawn-out moan of Naruto’s name.
“Holy shit. You tightened upsomuch—Fuck.”
The cock inside him twitches once, twice, before Naruto's abs flex as he groans, filling Sasuke up. He whimpers when he feels warmth completely cover him inside as Naruto slides out.
He can feel how open he is, rim stretched to accommodate Naruto's cock. He feels exposed with his legs open and cum dripping down his ass, but even more so at the look on Naruto's face.
He's not looking at the mess he made in his hole, he's not touching nor gripping nor fondling any part of him, as usual. Instead, he's looking at him.
Not just his face, not just making eye contact, he's staring through to him and even after all this time it feels like too much to handle. He just wants to run away and hide, but Naruto doesn't let him.
He cleans Sasuke with practice movements using his discarded shirt, and pulls him up to sit him in his lap, arms winding tight around him. Making a small space for Sasuke to feel safe in his arms.
It works.
He deflates, tension slipping down his shoulder and away.
“You're amazing, you know that?” Naruto breaks the silence a few minutes later.
Sasuke blushes, averting his eyes as he scoffs. “Naruto—”
“No! Listen to me,” Naruto demands in that voice, the one that can command a whole room full of battle-hardened shinobi, the one that tells everyone they better listen.
So, listen Sasuke does. He keeps his eyes trained on Naruto’s blonde, spiky hair.
“Somehow, even since were little, I know we'd end up together one way or another. Yes, it sounds cliché, but it's true. I felt this . . . connection with you. Every time I looked at you I saw what everyone missed.”
One of Naruto's hands slides up, rubbing slow circles into his back, and he lets himself recline on the support Naruto's offering him. He thinks he's never felt any safer than when he's with Naruto.
“I saw a lonely boy. A boy who'd lost everything. A child who was all alone and suffering with no one to help, and I understood. Way back then, I understood you and, subconsciously, I'd decided I'd never let you go.”
Naruto smiles at him when he sees Sasuke bite his lip to stop the tremble in his mouth.
“And, no matter what, Sasuke, I would've followed you. In death, in life, to hell and back, through a portal leading to another dimension. There's never been anyone else, Sasuke. Not for me. It's always been you, and it will always be you.”
Sasuke sniffles, chest tight and heart feeling too big for the cage that holds it captive. He averts his eyes to the forest beyond their home, letting tears trail down his cheeks. Naruto smiles at him so, so gentle and loving, wiping his tears away.
“And I'm so happy we're here now. I'm so happy we got here, despite the many obstacles we had.” Naruto's voice cracks. His next words come out choked and whispered, as if his heart was cracking open. “And I'm so glad we'll get married, Sasuke. We're getting married, ha!” Naruto laughs, now openly crying with a wide smile. “I'm so happy. I love you so fucking much, S'uke. I love you so much it hurts, sometimes I feel like it will destroy me and I'll let it because it's all for you. You're the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
Sasuke sobs, finally giving in to his feelings, letting all his emotions overflow as he surges forward and buries his face in Naruto’s neck, dirtying him even more with his tears and snot as he hiccups and cries and gasps.
All the while, Naruto keeps holding him, kissing his hair, his face, his shoulder, any part he can reach, and repeating the same words over and over.
“I love you so much.”
“You're the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
“Dad couldn't have given me a better gift.”
“Thank you for being here.”
Sasuke cries for what feels like hours.
When he's got no more tears left to cry, he feels wrung out. He feels dry and spent and so, so tired. Yet, he raises his hand and tilts Naruto's face, so they're staring straight at each other.
And he says the words that have been stuck in his throat since he was thirteen and too young to know what to do with them.
“I love you, Naruto. Please stay with me forever.”
The smile Naruto gives him when Sasuke whispers those words while caressing his whiskered cheek – wide and bright and happy –, makes all his suffering worth it.
