Work Text:
Ilya’s first day of teaching post-grad is exhausting. Nothing bad happens. But spending 7 hours surrounded by middle schoolers while trying to teach them science is draining, to say the least.
On his drive home, his head hurts and his back is tight and he feels like he’s buzzing from being overstimulated. Also, he’s starving. He’s almost done with his commute when he notices a store with a grand opening banner. ‘Bobby’s Ice Cream Shop and Diner’, the sign reads. He feels a strong urge to stop. Ice cream sounds amazing right now. He pulls into the parking lot. He looks over at his gym bag in the passenger seat. He told himself he would go after work. He couldn’t bring himself to wake up at 5 am just to have time to get in a full workout, shower, get ready, and eat breakfast before he had to commute the 30 minutes to work and be there before 8 am. But the gym can wait. He needs to see what this brand new ice cream shop is all about.
He parks his car and enters the building. It’s cute inside, retro themed and brightly colored. When he browses the menu his stomach growls and his mouth starts to water. He goes up to the counter.
“Welcome to Bobby’s! What can I get for you today?” A cheery middle aged man with a beer belly greets Ilya.
“I will have brownie sundae, please.” Ilya says.
“Will that be all?” Ilya ponders this for a second. He shouldn’t be eating any of the greasy fried food they’re serving. But he also doesn’t have much in his fridge at home and he is hungry.
“I will also have cheeseburger and fries, thank you.” He says.
“Sure thing, that will be right out for you.” The man says. Ilya takes a seat at the counter. He checks his phone while he waits. He responds to some texts from his best friend Svetlana. She is wondering about how his first day went.
The man from the register brings Ilya his food.
“Thank you, Bobby.” Ilya says, glancing at the man’s name tag. “Ah, you are Bobby? This is your restaurant?”
“The one and only!” The man smiles brightly.
“Congratulations on grand opening. Is very exciting.” Ilya says.
“Thank you! It’s always been my dream. Finally got my wife on board this year.”
“The place looks great. And the food smells amazing.” Ilya tells Bobby.
“Thanks, son.” Bobby says. “Enjoy your meal.” Bobby whisks away back to the kitchen. Ilya takes a bite of his burger. He didn’t have high expectations, but it is actually a very good burger. It’s juicy and flavorful. The fries are thin and crispy. And the brownie sundae is heavenly. Ilya doesn’t know the last time he had ice cream.
Ilya makes fast work of his food. He feels full, fuller than he’s been in a while. The brownie sundae was massive. It feels nice, being fully satiated after a long day of work.
Ilya stares at his gym bag when he gets back in the car. He can’t exactly go to the gym now, not with a completely full stomach. But it’s fine, one day off isn’t going to kill him. He drives straight home instead, and immediately collapses on the couch. He’ll get up and do something productive in a minute. All that food made him a little sleepy.
“Ilya?”
Ilya’s eyes snap open. His boyfriend Paul is standing in front of him, looking concerned.
“Jesus, I thought you were in a coma.” Paul says.
“Sorry. I guess my first day took a lot out of me.” Ilya says, sitting up and stretching. Paul sits next to him on the couch.
“Did you go to the gym? You’re sill in your teacher clothes.”
“No, I skipped. Too tired.” Ilya omits the part of the story where he was also too full.
“I already miss having you as a gym buddy.” Paul says, giving Ilya’s thigh a squeeze. Ilya smiles. “I went grocery shopping.” Paul tells him. “I got stuff for beef and broccoli tonight.” Ilya nods. He’s not exactly hungry. He can just have a small portion. “I’ll start cooking.” Paul stands up, leaving Ilya blinking sleepily on the couch.
Paul serves Ilya a normal sized portion at dinner, and Ilya doesn’t stop him. Ilya also doesn’t stop himself from eating the full portion.
After dinner, Ilya does the dishes. He feels very full. And a little turned on. He finds Paul on the couch after he does the dishes. Ilya sinks to his knees and proceeds to give his boyfriend a very enthusiastic blow job.

The next day, Ilya has every intention of going straight to the gym after work. He packed a bigger lunch so he wouldn't fall into the trap of being so hungry that he stops for ice cream instead of working out. He's going to drive past Bobby's no problem.
He drives past Bobby's. And then he circles back, driving around the block, and pulls into the parking lot.
"Welcome back!" Bobby is grinning at Ilya from the register.
"I had such a good meal yesterday, I could not resist coming back." Ilya smiles. What the hell is he doing?
"What can I get you?" Bobby asks.
"I will try your cookie dough ice cream today." Ilya says. "Three scoops in a bowl, please."
"Coming right up!"
Ilya doesn't make it to the gym that day. Or for the rest of the week. He does make it to Bobby's every day after work, though.

It becomes a habit, and then a ritual. Ice cream after work. Ilya looks forward to it every day. Not just the ice cream, but also the conversations with Bobby and his wife and the other employees. They’re always so excited to see Ilya. It feels good.
Of course, it catches up with him eventually. He knew it probably would. The daily ice cream trips plus occasional burgers, falling off completely at the gym. Three months of that behavior and his abs have disappeared completely. He’s not fat, he’s not even chubby. He’s just a little soft. And he finds he doesn’t hate it.
Paul does, though. It starts with him asking Ilya to go to the gym with him on the weekends. Innocent enough. Ilya goes, but he focuses on lifting. Paul starts encouraging him to get back into cardio. But Ilya doesn’t feel like it, so he doesn’t. Ilya never tells Paul about his trips to Bobby’s. He doesn’t find it necessary to share. Paul would make a big deal out of it. Like he’s making a big deal out of Ilya’s 10 pound weight gain. Better to keep it to himself.

One Saturday in the spring, Ilya and Paul are grocery shopping, when Ilya hears his name in the produce section. He turns around to see Bobby grinning at him.
“Ah hello, Bobby.” He smiles.
“Good to see you, Ilya!”
“It is good to see you too.” Paul walks up to them from where he was just inspecting apples. “This is Paul, my boyfriend. Paul, this is Bobby.” Ilya introduces them, starting to feel a little nervous.
“And how do you know Ilya?” Paul asks.
“I own Bobby’s Ice Cream Shop and Diner! Ilya is our best customer.” Bobby beams. Paul stiffens noticeably.
“Best customer?” He echos.
“Sure, he’s there almost every weekday. Since the grand opening!”
“It was very nice to see you Bobby, we should get going.” Ilya says, trying not to be rude but really needing Bobby to shut up.
“See you Monday!” Bobby says brightly. Ilya smiles and turns away.
“What the hell was that?” Paul asks when they’re out of earshot.
“I may have made a habit of going to an ice cream shop after work.” Ilya mumbles, feeling like he was caught doing something bad. But it’s not bad. It’s ice cream. Paul rolls his eyes.
“This explains so much. Holy shit.”
“It’s not a big deal.” Ilya says.
“It’s not?”
“No.” Ilya snaps, grabbing a bag of baby carrots and aggressively slamming them in the cart. He keeps walking. Paul doesn’t talk to him for the rest of the grocery trip, or on the car ride home.
When they get back to their apartment, Paul starts cooking dinner. Salmon and salad. Ilya wanders into the kitchen to get some water.
“Can we talk?” Paul asks, turning away from the counter to face Ilya.
“Of course. What would you like to talk about?” Ilya knows exactly what Paul wants to talk about.
“Your little ice cream habit. That needs to stop.”
“Why?” Ilya feels simultaneously irritated and ashamed. And a little turned on? No, that can’t be right.
“Because, look at you, Ilya. You’re ballooning up!” Paul says, exasperated.
“I’ve gained 25 pounds.” Ilya snaps.
“Exactly!” Paul responds. “You’re not the person I fell in love with.”
“You are so vain, did you know that? Vain and shallow.” Ilya’s eyes are burning.
“You can’t keep packing on the pounds and expect me to still be attracted to you, you know.”
“Because your love for me is conditional, the condition being that I am fit, sexy, gym rat.”
“Don’t make me out to be the bad guy here.” Paul says, rubbing his temples like Ilya is giving him a headache.
“People gain weight. Is part of life. Is not a reason to stop loving someone.”
“I still love you, Ilya, I’m just… I’m not attracted to you anymore.” Ilya feels tears on his cheeks. “I don’t know if I can keep doing this.” Paul says. “I’m sorry.”
“Fine. If that is what you want, then leave.” Ilya says. Paul reaches for him, like he’s trying to comfort him. Ilya takes a step away from Paul. He doesn’t want to be touched by him.
“I don’t want you to hate me, Ilya.” Paul says.
“Is too late for that. Please leave.” Ilya responds, starting at the floor. Paul stands there for a minute like he wants to say something else.
“Give me a few minutes to pack an overnight bag. I’ll crash on Jesse’s couch tonight.” Paul says with a sigh, and leaves the room.
While Paul packs, Ilya cleans the kitchen. He puts the ingredients back in the fridge. He doesn’t want to eat Paul’s stupid salad and salmon.
“You know, if you just stopped eating ice cream every day and went back to the gym this wouldn’t be a problem. We could still be together.” Paul says, coming out of the bedroom with his overnight bag.
“There’s no coming back from this.” Ilya responds. “I do not want to be with someone who can’t accept me and love me no matter what I look like.”
“Fine, have it your way then. Enjoy your ice cream on Monday.” Paul says bitchily, stalking out of the apartment and slamming the door on his way out. Ilya takes a deep breath. He goes to sit on the couch. He thinks about calling Sveta, but he’s embarrassed. He doesn’t want to tell her that he got dumped because he got too fat. Instead he cries. He cries for a while. He’s not sure how long, but some time must pass because when he’s finally out of tears, his stomach is growling loudly.
He gets up and looks in the fridge, but all that’s there is health food. Ilya doesn’t want health food. He wants something heavy and greasy and comforting. He grabs his phone and opens doordash. He scrolls for way too long before he sees that he can order from Bobby’s. That’s exactly what he wants right now. He puts a burger and fries and a brownie sundae in the cart. Then he scrolls the menu some more and adds chicken tenders and a grilled cheese as well. He checks out without thinking too hard about it and hopes the delivery won’t take so long that the ice cream melts.
It doesn’t take long for the food to arrive, being that Bobby’s is only about 5 minutes away from Ilya’s apartment. The ice cream is a little melty but not too bad. Ilya sticks it in the freezer.
He starts in on the burger. It’s good, as it always is. Ilya turns on the tv. Some hockey game is on. Paul often had the tv on ESPN. Ilya skips around to different channels with one hand on the remote, the other hand shoveling fries into his mouth. He settles on watching a rom com he’s heard of but never took the time to watch.
When he finishes the burger and fries, he’s really not full. He’s always had a big appetite. He grabs the grilled cheese next. He eats it quickly, enjoying it but not savoring it.
Now he’s full. His belly feels tight and maybe a little bloated. But the chicken tenders look so crispy. He figures he can have just one.
One chicken tender becomes five chicken tenders. He reaches mindlessly into the takeout container to find it completely empty. Whoops. His stomach is starting to ache a little bit. It feels kind of distended. And somewhere between the grilled cheese and the chicken tenders, his dick started to get hard. He palms it mindlessly as he readjusts his sweatpants so that they aren’t digging so uncomfortably into his belly.
He goes into the kitchen to refill his water, and he is reminded that he still has a brownie sundae in the freezer. He really shouldn’t. He can eat it tomorrow. But what if Paul comes back for his things tomorrow and he looks in the freezer and - Ilya feels a sudden swoop of arousal at the thought. He ignores it, annoyed that his body is still associating Paul with sex, and grabs the sundae out of the freezer.
Ilya takes his ice cream back to the couch and digs in. He moans out loud at how good it tastes. He eats it quickly, as quickly as he can without getting an ice cream headache. Despite his full tummy, he devours the whole sundae.
He looks down at his belly to find it distended and round. It hurts. He finds it’s a little difficult to take a breath. He presses down on the top of his belly with his palm. It’s firm. His hand drifts down. He realizes he likes the feeling of the curve and the roundness. He starts rubbing his belly gently in an attempt to soothe the ache. His other hand drifts down to his cock, which is achingly hard. He pulls it out of his sweats. He collects his precum and starts stroking himself with one hand, while his other hand rests on his belly, continuing to rub gentle circles on his aching gut.
He strokes faster and faster, and suddenly he’s spilling cum all over his fist. His orgasm is so intense that his vision whites out for a second.
He cleans himself up and considers what just happened with open curiosity. It felt good, weirdly, stuffing himself full of delicious food and then pleasuring himself to the feeling of being full to the point of discomfort. And that was easily one of the most intense orgasms of his life. Better than anything he ever experienced with Paul, that’s for sure.
