Deal? Deal

Summary:

Mackenzie, together with the convicts, stumbles into a Holiday Inn, where Mathis happens to find booze.

The real question is how bad of an idea it really is, to fuck with your kinda-mortal-enemy-but-not-quite, all because both of you have had a little bit too much to drink? The answer might surprise you.

Work Text:

Mackenzie pulls off his completely soaked-through coat, staying in his, thankfully, dry sweater. He lays it by the fireplace that he managed to get going with some firelogs.

Somewhere in the background he hears Heller and Vachon, talking about the beds on the second floor. From the sound of it he might actually get to sleep in a normal bed for once. The cabin they stumbled upon seemed to be an inn, fitted for those rare tourists, who were brave enough to explore the wilderness of the Great Bear.

Will had to admit it was pretty cozy in here. The main room had a fireplace with a bigger couch and barrel chairs around it, and bigger coffee table squeezed in between them all. In a better company it could be a real pleasure to spend an evening here, cuddled up on a big sofa, warm drink in hand maybe cocoa maybe something different. But alas, fate had Will visiting this place with a group of convicts who were slowly starting to get on his nerves.

Not all of them maybe.

Vachon turned out to be pretty chill. Not that they got along, but at least with him Mackenzie could relax for a little bit. The man didn't seem to care for him too much. Heller was alright too, but it took a while to get used to all the talking. The rest was mostly behaving, because of the strict control Mathis had over all of them.

Even the thought of the man sends Mackenzie into a frown.

It's been maybe a month since he had gotten stuck with the convicts. It had been rough at first, Mathis’ quick-temper making everything harder than it had to be.

At least Mathis listened to him sometimes. Mackenzie had a chance to prove his usefulness to the group a couple times already, pulling them all out of death's sure grip. They had been almost through it all already: starvation, hypothermia, severe wildlife attacks, you name it. But at least now if he pitched ideas to Mathis, most of the time the man would listen to them. Reluctantly, grimacing at the bare sound of Will’s voice, but he did.

It especially started to show after he saved Mathis’ life once.

It wasn't even a conscious decision. No, when the wolf jumped at the man, Will’s body reacted quicker than his mind did. He almost died himself after the wolf switched its attention to him. It was Mathis who put the wolf down, with one quick gunshot, that had almost gotten Mackenzie too.

Mathis of course didn't even think about thanking him. He just called Mackenzie a “goddamn boy scout” with a hard look, before turning to leave. He just stared at the man’s back, then at the wolf’s carcass, before huffing out a breath and getting up to his feet.

Mackenzie gets pulled out of his thoughts at the cheering from the other room, most likely from the kitchen. Mathis walks out of it, carrying a crate in his arms. His face is stretched into a sly grin. Mackenzie frowns even deeper at the contents of the crate.

-Cheer up people, we got booze!- Mathis shouts, so that the convicts on the second floor can hear it too.

Convict drops the crate on the coffee table, fishing out one of the bottles. Judging from the color it was whiskey. Mackenzie feels his throat go dry. It's been so long since he had a drink. He barely holds himself from shaking his head. This was not the place or time to drink. They had wolves to worry about, fire to keep going and-

Mathis unscrews the bottle with one swift move, lips touching the bottle. The man tips his head back slightly and Will, who happens to stand just a step away from the man, finds himself staring at the way convict’s Adam Apple moves with each gulps he takes. Mathis leans away from the bottle, drying his mouth with the sleeve of his sweater. Their eyes meet and Mathis raises one brow.

-What you starring at, pilot?

-You shouldn't drink- Mackenzie answers simply, even as his own hands are itching to reach for the bottle.

-You make it sound like I asked for your opinion- Mathis huffs out. The man tilts his head slightly, voice mocking- what are you too chickenshit for some booze?

They stare each other down and Mackenzie gives up first. He just takes a step forward, grabbing the bottle right out of Mathis’ hands. The man just smirks at him, clearly pleased with himself.

Mackenzie ignores it to the best of his ability. He takes a few quick gulps that burn down his throat in a familiar way. He doesn't even wince at the taste of it.

He was going to regret that tomorrow, he just knows that.

***

Mackenzie closes his lips over the bottle again, letting the alcohol slip down his throat.

It was a couple hours since they started drinking, all sprawled on the chairs around the fire aside from Vachon and Heller who had taken the couch. Mackenzie shifts in his own chair just enough to be able to tip the bottle a little bit more. It's Heller who speaks up.

-Man I miss cheese

There are a couple of appreciative hums at that and even he finds himself nodding.

-Forget the cheese, I would do anything for another pack of cigarettes- Vachon mutters.

He looks over at the man, understanding him very well. Mackenzie had been thinking about a drink ever since he crashed this goddamn island. Then he looks over at the fire, blinking slowly.

-I miss ABBA’s songs

The words come out of his mouth before he even processes them in his mind, but he has enough booze in him that no shame follows the confession. Mathis on the chair next to his snorts at that.

-Kinda gay, pilot

Will looks the man in the eyes, catching the smug smirk. Mackenzie tilts his head slightly at the convict, voice innocent, when he asks.

-Why, you interested?

Mathis grimaces at him, before muttering something under his nose and getting busy with the bottle again. Mackenzie finds the corners of his mouth rising at the reaction as he takes another sip himself.

Some more time passes, with the group retiring to sleep slowly. Somehow Mackenzie finds himself all alone with Mathis, both of them staring at the fire, sipping the booze. He sighs as his bottle runs out of liquor. Will looks almost longingly at the crate, which was now empty. Then he looks over at Mathis, who happened to still have half a bottle.

He reaches out and grabs the bottle right out of the man’s hold.

-Rude- Mathis sighs at him, but it seems like the booze in his system had dampened some of his usual anger. Which doesn't stop the man from wincing at Mackenzie, as Will takes a sip- gross

-More for me- Mackenzie hums simply, but he finds Mathis reaching out the hand for the bottle, so he passes it over to the man. Mathis takes another sip, eyes trained on the fire, before he passes the bottle back to him.

They fall into silence for some time, sharing the bottle between the two of them, their fingers brushing occasionally. Briefly, Mackenzie thinks that they could have gotten cups from the kitchen instead of all this, but the thought of getting up shoots that idea down immediately.

Going down that lane of thought he thinks about the beds that were upstairs.

Yeah not a chance.

Sleeping in this chair was out of the question too. He was way too old for something like that and frankly he didn't want to feel even a little bit worse in the morning than he already knew he would.

Perhaps Mathis notices him staring at the couch, because as the man passes him the bottle he mutters.

-Don't even think about it, the couch its mine

-We can both fit

-Don't care- Mathis takes another sip- take the floor

-You can be a real asshole sometimes- Mackenzie stares at the man, pouting involuntarily. Mathis only snorts at him, passing the bottle.

-My, my pilot, what words am I hearing- Mathis sneers at him- haven't your mommy taught you any manners?

-You have been a terrible influence- Will finds himself muttering. He stares at the man, as Mathis throws his head back against the cushion, a deep laugh rocking through his chest. Somehow it eases up the situation enough that Mackenzie finds himself snorting at the sight.

Mathis huffs out another laugh, lips stretching into an almost genuine smile and Mackenzie finds himself starring at that version of Mathis. He doesn't even realise it until the man points it out.

-Quit staring at me like that

-Like what?

Mathis rolls his eyes putting the empty bottle down on the coffee table with a clink. Then Mathis grunts, very bravely attempting to get to his feet. The man gets up from the chair, only to trip over his own feet and fall down on the couch with a yelp. Mackenzie finds himself laughing at the curses that fall from the man's mouth. Mathis quiets down, before turning and laying on his back.

Mackenzie gets up too, feeling a little sway to his legs, but manages to walk over to the couch without any incidents, thanks to years of sour practice he had.

Mathis gives him one short look, as Mackenzie stands above him.

-Don't even think about it

But to Mathis’ luck, thinking was the last thing that Mackenzie was going to do. He simply plops down on the top of the man, head somewhere on the convict's shoulder, as Mathis hisses at him.

-Fuck, you are heavy

Mackenzie snorts at that and doesn't budge even a little as Mathis tries to push him off. There was enough booze in Mathis' system that all his movements were slower, weaker and Mackenzie had just the right amount of booze in himself that those weak attempts to push him off didn't move him even a little.

The opposite actually, he snuggles closer, throwing one leg over the other man, because that way his own back wasn't hanging off the edge. Mathis grunts at him, but stops trying to push him off, clearly tired.

-I am killing you in the morning- Mathis under him sighs, but the tone of his voice shows that the threat was empty.

-Who will catch you rabbits then?

Mathis huffs out a short breath at that, but his tone is not one of anger or even slight irritation.

-I already have one very annoying rabbit right here in my arms

He blinks at that processing the words. Maybe sober Mackenzie would have thought better and shut his mouth, but drunk Mackenzie only giggles.

-You don't sound like you are complaining though

Mathis doesn't answer him and Mackenzie shifts just a little bit, laying down more comfortably. To his surprise Mathis helps him with that as the convict's hand, that was partially trapped under Mackenzie, pulls him closer by the waist. Now he really wasn't going to fall off.

And for Mackenzie… well it's been a couple of years since he had been as close to someone else. Since Astrid left him, he had been cooped up in the hangar and it has been maybe just a little lonely. So the feel of another body pressed against his, the warmth of it, is surprisingly welcome. Mackenzie buries his head into Mathis' shoulder, not having it in himself to be ashamed of that.

Maybe Mathis was in a similar situation because the hand that he had on Mackenzie's waist, reaches under the sweater. He barely holds back a surprised breath as the warm palm makes contact with his bare skin. The touch is not suggestive or anything, Mathis just places the hand over his waist, caressing slowly, absentmindedly from the looks of it.

He lets himself relax into that.

Whatever this was, they could deal with it in the morning. Mackenzie was feeling too cozy right now to worry about how wrong all of this was or even more so- dangerous. In more ways than one.

Mathis was maybe, just a tiny bit, literally just slightly in his type. Just a little bit. Mackenzie resist the urge to roll his eyes, admitting at least to his drunk self that Mathis was embarrassingly his type.

Didn’t mater.

-Do you really not miss anything?- he finds himself whispering.

-What?

-The talk earlier- Mackenzie reminds the man- you know the cheese, the ABBA, all that

Silence follows, that almost convinces him that Mathis was not going to answer him. Mackenzie is about to say to Mathis that he was a big old grump, when the man speaks up.

-I will twist your neck if you tell anyone, but i miss romance novels

-Your secret is safe with me- Mackenzie promises sincerely. A little note of fun makes it into his voice though, as he teases the man- though that sure is great blackmail

-Shut your yap- Mathis mutters, but there is almost an audible blush to his voice. Mackenzie finds himself chuckling at that and his leg, that he had thrown over the man, shifts with the movement-

His eyes fly wide open as he feels a very defined hard-on under his thigh. Mackenzie stills, a blush spreading through his own cheeks and now it's Mathis turn to laugh.

-Really? That’s what finally gets you to shut up?- Mathis' chest shakes with his laugh and red spreads further on Mackenzie’s face- our goddamn boy scout is so afraid of a simple boner?

-Shut up- Mackenzie groans- it caught me off guard

-You say that like you own boner hadn't been pressing into my hip all this time

-What no- Mackenzie stutters, before with some horror realising that Mathis was right. Somewhere between his intoxication, the warmth of the body next to him and his whole relaxed state he managed to miss the moment where he got hard. The realisation makes him wince, as he whispers.

-Sorry

-Doesn't bother me- Mathis huffs out- I am not like a certain little boy scout that gets all red at something that's completely natural

The conversation comes to a stop here. Now that Mathis has pointed it out, his boner is demanding attention in a way that's almost painful. Mackenzie could do with just a little bit of friction, one single grind against the man's hard hip. But a part of him knows that if he starts, he won't be able to stop himself.

Still it bothers him now.

Mackenzie sighs.

-Are we really going to ignore that?

He can feel as the man turns his head, surely to look at Mackenzie. He lifts his gaze at Mathis, who stares at him with squinted eyes.

-Are you fucking suggesting something?

That's not exactly what he had on his mind, but the idea doesn't sound too bad, surprisingly. It is of course a horrible idea in general, but right now with booze in his system…. The look on his face must show his thought process clearly because Mathis raises one brow up.

-Really?

Mackenzie just shrugs his shoulders.

-We are both drunk, both willing and frankly I doubt either of us would remember it by the morning

-And if we do?

-Then we can just not talk about it- he answers simply. Mathis looks at him for a long second before sighing again.

-Fuck it, why not- Mathis nods his head at him- you get me off, I get you off and we never talk about it ever again, deal?

-Deal- Will shakes his head firmly, then he gets up from Mathis body, to sit up. He tilts his head at the man, the words colouring his cheeks just a little maybe- you prefer my mouth or hand?

-Really? I mean obviously the mouth but I wont offer the same

-Sounds good to me- Mackenzie shrugs. Even better for him, he doesn't know how much he would trust Mathis not to bite him in his current state.

They shift on the couch, with Mathis moving higher up and leaning against the armrest, while struggling to tug his pants off. Mackenzie just leans over him, helping with the offending piece of clothing. He pulls the man's pants down to the ankles and while Mathis kicks them off to the side, he reaches for the man's underwear. He gulps, feeling the pure size of the man through the material. His hands clench on the underwear minutely, but he tries not to let it show. In four hands they manage to get Mathis rid of that element of clothing too.

Mathis spreads his legs, one of them pressed tightly against the cushion of the couch and the other one planted firmly on the floor. Mackenzie fits in between them just barely, but it will have to do.

As he gets his mouth around the man, there is an audible groan above, with a barely there stutter of the man's hips. It sends a shiver down Mackenzie's body, such a raw reaction from the other man was doing things to him. He grinds his own hips into the couch below, as he starts to bob his head slowly.

A hand comes, grabbing him by the hair but it doesn't tug him up or down. It just stays there, brushing through the strands and Mackenzie finds himself enjoying that sort of contact. When he takes a curious look up, he sees Mathis, with his head thrown back, eyes squeezed together. His mouth is open slightly, quiet breaths escaping occasionally.

As if sensing the attention Mathis speaks up.

-You have done this before, haven't you?- the man asks, voice a little breathy. Mackenzie hums, something that could be vaguely considered an answer, around Mathis and it sends the man into a low groan- fuck you feel good

The praise, especially the one said in such a way, makes Mackenzie throb his pants and he groans softly against the weight in his mouth.

He grinds against the cushions, while lowering his head further, all the way till his lips kiss the base, as the man’s tip touches the back of his throat. He relaxes into the pose, throwing one more curious gaze up to where Mathis chest raises with a noticeable tremble.

Then he swallows around him.

Mathis lets out a sound, not a groan not a quiet breath like before, no- its a full on deep and guttural moan. It echoes around the room and he wonders if that made anyone wake up. Even if someone did he honestly doubts that person would risk coming down to check on why Mathis would be making sounds like that.

He inhales slowly through his nose, as deep and full as he can with Mathis all the way down his throat, before he starts coming up slowly.

Then he bobs down again, quicker this time while sucking in his cheeks to the best of his ability. It makes an obscene sound, but it is nothing in comparison to another moan that Mathis lets out. Quieter this time, as to not actually wake anyone up, but it still shows just how much Mathis enjoys the whole ordeal.

-Keep going- convict hums, hand in Mackenzie's hair pulling slightly on the strands. It hurts but just a bit, just the right amount to make him want more and make his eyes go damp. He looks up at Mathis again, through that slight veil of tears and the man coo’s at him, but somehow he manages to make it sound mocking- you like being treated like that, don't you?

Such treatment really was doing something to him, but Mackenzie doesn't want to know what that says about him exactly. So he closes his eyes and falls into a quicker tempo, not enough to bring the man to the edge yet but just enough to shift his attention to something else.

And it works, judging by the hitch in the man's breathing, by the may his hips stutter upward meeting Will's mouth. He counts that as a win and continues on.

The win doesn't last long.

-I should have known- Mathis breaths out, his hips rocking to meet Mackenzie's mouth again, a little rougher than before- should have known that there was a better use to your damn mouth than all that whining you constantly do

Shame mixes with weird pleasure in his guts, from being talked to in such a way, but he doesn't have time to process that between bobbing his head and trying to manage the tempo he settled combined with Mathis’ trust. Man grunts out above of him, clearly humoured, hands pulling on the strands.

-Like that, babe, wide and open for me- Mathis practically purrs, voice deep and rich. And Mackenzie doesn't know what to do with himself. Everything is so much somehow, making him feel light-headed, even though he is the one who is supposed to make Mathis feel good right now, not the other way around.

He speeds up the tempo, dead-set on getting Mathis to come. Purely because Mackenzie is sure, he himself is not going to last long if the other man is going to keep talking to him that way. He succeeds because Mathis actually shuts up, well at least in terms of speaking, because instead of that man groans, breath hitching when Mackenzie takes him to the hilt again.

He doesn't get a word of warning, frankly he is not sure he needs it because it's easy to tell the exact moment that Mathis steps over the edge.

Will winces as the foul taste fills up his mouth. Despite that he keeps still, letting Mathis ride it out, as the man rocks into his mouth. Eventually the movement slows down and then stops, but the hand in his hair doesn't leave, quite the opposite actually.

When Mackenzie tries to lift his head, Mathis presses his face back down. He doesn't use enough power for it to actually be forced, if Mackenzie really wanted to he could easily escape the grasp.

But for some reason he doesn't do that, instead letting himself be guided to take the man back to the hilt again. Mathis looks at him with a sly glint in his eyes, as if asking what was Mackenzie going to do?

Mackenzie looks back at the man, before to his own surprise he swallows down the come in his mouth. It’s not a pleasant taste, or a sensation but the way Mathis mouth stretches into a satisfied smirk, as the man praises him, is worth it.

-Just like that, babe

The hand in his hair releases the strands and Mackenzie moves to sit up, drying his mouth with the end of his sleeve. Just as he does so, Mathis beckons him closer.

-Come here- man speaks, clearly meaning his own lap. Mackenzie looks at Mathis, not quite at his face, frankly meeting the man's gaze would be too much for him right now, then at the convict's lap but complies. He moves his stiff muscles, straddling the man, keeping most of his weight off Mathis. Mathis who only snorts at that, before roughly pulling him down by the hips to sit down fully. Like that he sits just a bit taller than Mathis, their faces almost dangerously close, eyes meeting. And Mathis, oh the man is looking at him like no less than prey.

And it does things to Mackenzie.

He looks to the side, unwilling to meet the man's gaze, which only earns him an amused huff of breath from Mathis. But thankfully the man doesn't comment on it, instead reaching his hands down. They find themselves on the hem of Mackenzie's pants and he lifts his hips up just enough to help Mathis lower both the pants and the underwear down, just enough to finally get him out of the confinement of his pants.

Mackenzie moans out loud to his own shame as Mathis gets him in hand. It was so unlike when he had been doing it with Astrid, who would be all careful and gentle, no- Mathis’ hands are rough, his grip sure and firm and it-

-and it feels so painfully right, that Mackenzie squeezes his eyes shut, leaning down and hiding his face in Mathis' broad shoulder. To his surprise a hand comes up, sneaking into his hair again. It, thankfully, doesn't pull him away, only tugs on the hair in a way that makes him groan softly.

Mathis doesn't rush him.

The man starts off his moves slowly, lazily almost and it's exactly what Mackenzie needs with how close he had gotten a couple of times already. He finds himself shivering at the way Mathis caresses him, trying to hide into the man's shoulder even more. Mathis huffs out a breath of a laugh at that, as his lips brush against Mackenzie's ear. Mathis whispers slowly, with a hint of mockery.

-Look at you, how little it took to get you to listen to me so well- the others voice dips lower, each word another nail to Mackenzie's coffin- an obedient dog, aren't you?

He doesn't think Mathis expects the reaction he gets, hell even Mackenzie doesn't expect himself to whine at the words. Shame starts rocketing through his body and together with the pleasure, the slight pain it all mixes into an explosive combination. He shudders against Mathis, almost tipping over the edge.

But he doesn't get to come. Not with the way that Mathis roughly squeezes the base of him.

-No, no, no please- Mackenzie sobs, a few tears covering his vision from the sensation. Mathis uses the grip he has on Mackenzie's hair to crane his head back. He hisses at that, but fuck if it doesn't feel good. More tears follow that mix with the groan he lets out, as Mathis starts moving his hand again. Somehow it feels even better than before. Mathis speaks up, voice pleased.

-Now that’s a good look on you

Mackenzie looks down at the man, as much as his still tipped back head lets him. Mathis sneers at him.

-Anything to say, pilot?

He has nothing, not a single word, just another groan that makes its way out of his mouth with another flick of the man's wrist. Mackenzie closes his eyes, letting Mathis do whatever he wanted to do, because somehow the man knew exactly what he needed. Mathis’ grip tightens, hand speeding up on Mackenzie just by a fraction, just enough to bring him to the edge but not quite. More tears follow, rolling down his cheeks and he keens as Mathis coos at him.

-Just like that, I’ve got you

Mackenzie sobs, finally, finally stepping over the edge, as the words rattle around in his brain. He knows that all of this is barely for one evening, but the impact that Mathis' voice and touch have on him are overwhelming any kind of logical thinking, leaving behind only pure elation. He breathes out hard, all the power leaving his body. If not for the way that Mathis is holding him up, he would have tumbled down already.

Mathis helps him lie down and somehow they manage to settle on the sofa again. They end up tangled up, limb to limb, quiet against each other.

It takes some time for him to recover. Not enough to start thinking properly maybe, but just enough to be able to listen to his body more. Mackenzie sighs into Mathis' shoulder.

-I think I had cried all of the booze out of my system

Mathis' chest shakes with a laugh at that.
