Chapter Text
"Jake, you're actually such a fucking loser!" Albert growled, getting incredibly more annoyed as this had been the 4th time Jake had purposely gotten them killed in some shitty horror game they were playing
He slammed his mouse hard on his desk and impatiently tapped his foot as he waited for both of them to respawn.
Jake always did this shit to piss him off every time they would play. "Stop fucking trolling around dude." he begged, his voice cracking with desperation. They had just respawned at their last checkpoint.
"Stop fucking trolling around dude!!" Jake said in his typical mocking tone; he then erupted in laughter, his obnoxious laugh began to taunt Albert as it echoed through their call, "Please fucking stop Jake," he pouted. He quickly ran to the closet to hide from the stereotypical killer, he was ready to quit the game but they were already so far.
“You’re so easy to piss off bro, it’s hilarious.” Jake teased, he always knew the exact words that would irritate Albert to his core. Albert gritted his teeth, he knew Jake was right but was too stubborn to admit it.
He rolled his eyes, “Can you shut the fuck up so this dude doesn’t catch us and so we could actually finish this game?” His patience was rapidly declining.
“Hmm, let me think… “ Jake paused, “Will you be a good boy and apologize to me?” He purred, purposely putting his mouth closer to the mic so his voice would be more sultry.
He nervously laughed, trying to mask how caught off guard he was. The way Jake said that clawed at his skin, heat rising in his chest, “I uh- heh. Yeah I will…” his lips curved into a smirk, “I’m soooooo sorry jakeyyyy!!” He whined like a dog.
“Good boy Albert.”
Albert tried to ignore it the second time, but it circled his mind. Jakes’ voice saying that in such a seductive way. If Albert had a tail, it would be wagging as fast as a whip. he's gotta be doing this on purpose, he thought.
Jake did eventually stop being an ass and they did eventually finish the game.
They then sat in the discord call, Jake rambling on about some movie he saw in theaters, Albert listened silently.
Albert checked the time on his watch, 12:37 am. He thought. fuck it’s late
“Jake, it’s getting pretty late, I'm gonna go.” He didn't really want to, he just had things he needed to do.
Jake paused his sentence, his smile falling from his face, “Aww shit you’re right dude.” he groaned, “We completely lost track of time.”
Albert chuckled, “Goodnight dude, talk to ya tomorrow.”
Jake sighed, “Goodnight, love you dude, see ya.” he said, casually.
Albert heard Jake leave the call. He stared at him and Jakes’ messages, registering what Jake just said to him.
“Love you dude” he silently mumbled back to himself, he said it so causally..
He leaned back in his chair and dragged his hands down his face.
Albert could not stop thinking about what he just said.
He wishes he could see him, I mean, they do live in two completely different states. It deeply devastated Albert, he felt this longing sensation for Jake, his best friend, like he was yearning for him. It’s been a couple months since he’s last seen him, a couple of agonizing months.
A couple months of Albert going through Jakes’ instagram, scrolling through his post. Posts of him out to eat, with family, with friends, at the gym, and even flexing, those were his favorite. That's normal, right?
It’s normal to find your friends attractive, in a friendly way, of course!!
It’s normal to think about your friends everyday, missing their face, their touch, their voice, their everything, right?
It’s normal to stalk their every move, where they're at, who they're with, what they're doing, right?
It’s normal that this applies to one of his friends, right?
It’s normal to stare and memorize photos of his friend, right?
It’s normal to jerk off to your best friend's face and velvety voice….right?
This is all normal friend stuff.
Jake’s just a friend.
His best friend.
His closest friend.
Albert quickly sat up from his chair, his mind raising and hands trembling.
He stood there, eyes staring blankly at the floor as his mind raced for answers on why he was feeling this way.
"Fuck.." he muttered, hands through his hair.
he had come to the awful realization.
he was madly in love with his best friend.
