Person A: So, what's wrong with her?

Person B: Are you really that eager to know?

Person B: Miranda, she's been with you for years.

Person A: She will never leave my side.

Person B: You sound like you're having a really bad break up, trying to think of ways to save a toxic relationship.

Person A: It's not the pay, nor the promotion or the benefits. I'm totally fine.
Person A: It's hard to explain, because it is really just that. That is my reason for resigning.
Person A: Nothing else.
Person B: Explain it, then. Make me understand.

Person B: I want it specific.

Person A: Honestly, I have no concrete plan yet.

Person B: Wow. She surely has an entire list of things to do!
Person A: I tried negotiating with her. I said I could give her leaves, but she didn't want it.
Person A: I even offered to give her a raise. I tried discussing with her I could provide her more work benefits.
Person A: She didn't want it.
Person A: Not a single person in my entire existence has ever rejected me like this. Ever.
Person B: The solution is easy.
Person B: Let her go.
Person B: You could find another person take her job in a minute.
Person B: We have a rendering period after all. The new hire would catch up and learn from Six.
Person A: Nigel, you don't understand.
Person A: I don't want anyone else.

Person A: Apparently, you two are still in discussion of your resignation.

Person A: That's what she told me. That woman never lies.
Person A: She even mentioned you have a list of things to do after resignation. Long plan, huh?
Person B: Yes it's true and I have a list and yes I do plan to have a family but NO I AM NOT DATING ANYONE

Person A: Oh. Maybe she misinterpreted.
Person B: Yeah. I told her my plans because I am really having a hard time explaining it to her.
Person B: She's too...I don't know. She's asking too many questions.

Person B: Me? Her assistant? Having a chance? That's so impossible. You know that.
Person B: She's her. She's Miranda Priestly. She's almost like in another world, universe even. I'm just me.

Person B: Reconsider your plans.
Person B: Let's talk about it. I can schedule us a meeting.
Person A: Miranda, I'm sorry.
Person A: But it's not up for discussion.
Person A: I have decided.
Person A: I understand that my role is a big shoes to fill. But I'll do my best to find a good replacement.
Person A: It will all be handled by me, you have nothing to worry about.
Person B: Is that so?
Person A: Yes.

The next day, Andy noticed something different. She was used to Miranda delegating them tasks. Today, the tasks are either being thrown at Emily, or Miranda doing it alone.
Miranda seems to give Andy a cold shoulder.
"Miranda. Is there anything I can—"
"It's all settled." Miranda responded before Andy could even finish her sentence. She is looking through the rack of clothes sent to her by Calvin Klein.
"Do you need your coat—"
Miranda didn't bother looking at her direction and wore her own coat.
"You have a meeting in five min—"
Miranda stood up from her seat and went to their meeting room, bypassing Andy.
While Miranda sits on her office table while scaning through her e-mails, unbothered, Andy was affected in how her boss is treating her.
And of course, Miranda is doing it on purpose. She didn't want to do it, but she wants Andy to feel how it's like to be left out.
"Have you found your replacement?" Miranda asked.
"I'm still looking through." Andy replied.
"Do I have to do it myself?"
"What?"
"You seem to be on a rush to leave this place. I could help to find a replacement. After all, they will be working for me." Miranda closed the book.
"I'd suggest for you to be quicker in finding your replacement." She continued as she stand up from her chair and walk out of her office.
[Miranda's POV]

Person B: How mature of you.
Person A: Will you just help me?
Person A: How can I make it up to her?
Person B: Apologize.
Person B: Six was hurt, just so you know.
Person A: I could tell.
Person A: I could feel how disappointed she was.
Person A: You're her friend. Tell me what to do.
Person B: I couldn't think of anything else to say except, you're a loser.
Person A: Fine, I will apologize to her.
Person A: Could you even blame me for ignoring her?
Person A: I am hurting that she's leaving me, she doesn't even seem to notice.
Person B: Hurting her intentionally is not the right approach. You could've talked to her.
Person B: If there's anyone you should be opening these things up, it's her, not me.
Person A: I tried, okay? I tried setting up a meeting with her. She refused.
Person B: That's the thing with you, Miranda.
Person B: You're taking this situation as if you're signing a contract with Dior.
Person B: If you like her, tell her.
Person B: Most of all, admit to yourself that you like her.
Person B: Make up your mind.
Person A: Are you on my side or hers?
Person B: I am on no one's side.
Person B: I'm a balding gay man, Miranda.
Person B: So please, for the love of God, be true with what you're feeling towards her.
Person B: Or you're gonna regret it and she's totally dating someone else after this resignation noise.
Person B: Both of you are making it hard for everyone, including me.
Person B: I didn't know being cupid is in my job description.
Person B: If only I know, I would've applied to Auto Universe.
[Andy's POV]

Person B: Let me give you a hint: Maybe she doesn't want you to go.

Person A: She didn't let me do any work today! She passed it all to Emily!
Person B: Instead of talking to me, why don't you reach out to her so you both could finally kiss and make up?
Person A: Speaking of the devil...She texted. Wait.

Person B: Open your door.
Person B: I'm outside.
Person A: What?! It's late!
Person B: I'm serious.
Person B: Is this how you treat your guests, Andrea?
Person A: Sorry. I wasn't expecting anyone. You didn't tell me ahead of time you're visiting.

Both of them said as soon as the door was opened.
"You go first." Andy said.
Miranda replied, "I apologize if I made you feel uncomfortable today."
"Let's bring that discussion inside." Andy stepped aside, giving way to Miranda as the woman entered her apartment.
They are sitting at the dining area with the coffee Andy prepared, placed at the table.
Both of them could feel the the awkward tension, so Miranda decided to break the silence between them.
"Andrea." She looked at Andy, her hand on the mug holder.
She continued. "I apologize if I was rude earlier." Miranda looked away, then returned her gaze to Andy. "Truth is, I just...I didn't..."
Andrea cut her off. "Is this about my resignation?"
Miranda nodded.
"I don't want to hide anything from you, so here it goes." She took a deep breath.
Miranda looked into Andy's eyes.
"It's hard for me to accept that you'll no longer be around. I'm used to everything being in place, because you're there. You're very reliable, and it would..." It would break me if you'll be out of my life.
Miranda didn't say the last part, instead she took a short pause, then continued.
"I honestly don't know what I'm feeling. I can't...I can't put into words why I don't want you to go.
There's many reasons—"
"You didn't have to set me aside and act as if I didn't exist. I was hurt of what you did." Andy cut her off. She felt Miranda's uneasiness, so she decided to explain herself first.
"I'm not sure how to convince you of why I need to quit. I don't have issues on you, or anything about the company. But you have to understand that I want to have a life outside Runway. I'm not just an assistant. I don't want that to be my identity. For 20 years, I've been with you. I've worked for you. I do my best to meet your demands, because that's part of my job. My life revolved around you and your day-to-day. But I'm also human. I want to do something beyond of my work. This life is short, and I want to live it the way I want it."
Miranda nodded. "I understand."
"I want to build my life, maybe have a family of my own someday. I am not sure yet, but it no longer includes being a Runway employee. Being your assistant."
Andy gave Miranda a small smile, but Miranda seems to be bothered of Andy's last statement.
Does it end here?
Do I want it to end here?
Why does my chest feel heavy?
Is this still about work?
"Admit it to yourself that you like her." Nigel's words echoed in her mind.
I don't want to let her go.
Miranda broke her silence. "I like you."
Andy's eyes widened. "S-Sorry?"
Miranda repeated herself. She didn't like repeating herself but she did, only because it's Andy.
"I said, I like you."
Andy was shocked of what she's heard, so she covered her mouth with her hand.
"A-are you joking?" Andy responded, her heart is beating fast.
Even Miranda admitted her feelings, she doubt the woman meant it. At this point, she knows Miranda would do everything to keep her stay in the company.
A lot of thoughts ran in Andy's mind. She doesn't know what to feel. Half of her wants to believe what the woman just told her. She could feel a hint of sincerity with her statement. But given the situation they are in, she's convinced that maybe, Miranda only said it because she wants her assistant.
What if it's true?
What if it's not?
Maybe it's not.
Impossible.
Andy, do not expect your feelings will be reciprocated.
You're efficient, that's why Miranda wants to keep you.
Remember that.
At that moment, Andy's thoughts are so loud that she didn't notice her mouth begins to speak.
"Don't do this." Andy said. She closed her eyes, covering her face.
"Do what?"
"Don't say things you don't mean." There, she said it.
"Andrea, what—"
"Enough."
Andy felt mad. It's ridiculous how Miranda would play with her feelings. Did anyone give her a hint that she likes her, so she would make her stay?
"Get out."
"Andrea—"
And that's how their talk ended.
Even Andy was eager to cut off their conversation, Miranda was persistent to make Andy understand of her feelings.
[Andy's POV]

Person B: I'm still outside, just so you know.
Person A: Miranda.
Person A: I am not a fan of people lying in front of my face.
Person A: If this is some sort of manipulation tactic, some mind games to make me stay, it's not effective.
Person A: Let me be clear. I am more eager now to get my approved resignation letter.
Person A: Please, just sign it. That's all I ask of you.
Person B: No.
Person B: I will prove you wrong.
Person B: I never lie about my feelings, Andrea Sachs.
Person B: I want to be a part of your life.
Person A: Miranda, please go home.
Person B: I am being real about what I'm feeling for you, yet you're refusing to believe me.
Person B: I can't imagine my life without you.
Person B: That's the reason why I'm desperate to keep you beside me.
Person B: I don't want you to leave.
Person B: Tell me, is it impossible for you to feel the same way for me?
Person A: You're a very beautiful woman, yes.
Person A: You're smart, and you always know what to say. Most of all, you know what you want.
Person A: But you could be bossy.
Person A: You're demanding.
Person A: You make people run around to meet your needs.
Person B: I know myself well.
Person B: But that doesn't answer my question.
Person B: Do I have a chance?
Person B: Will you give me a chance?
Person B: Can we have a chance?

Person A: I ACCIDENTALLY SENT THE HEARTS TO MIRANDA
Person B: 🤣 Prayers for you, darling.
Person B: Wait, were you exchanging texts when I messaged?
Person B: Sorry for interrupting your honeymoon.
Person A: You won't believe it.
Person A: She went here, and I'm sure you're aware
Person A: She told me she likes me.
Person B: Wait...Miranda went to your apartment?
Person A: Wait...You didn't know?
Person A: Did you tell her about what I feel about her?
Person B: Sweetheart, I don't care about your 🌈 relationship with your boss that much.
Person A: Oh my god.
Person A: You didn't tell her anything.
Person B: No. Why would I? It's none of my business.
Person A: She was serious?!
Person A: Nigel, I fucked it up really bad.
Person A: Did I just reject Miranda?
Person B: You and your miscommunications...
Despite the conversation they exchanged at Andy's apartment, Miranda and Andy remained professional at work. No one noticed anything changing in the air between them, except the both of them.
Miranda was eager to have another conversation with Andy to continue the talk they've left behind, but she can see Andy being uncomfortable to talk about it. After several tries, Miranda gave up on talking about that night.
However, Miranda did not want Andy to be distant from her. She does not want Andy to be uncomfortable, but she still wants to show her sincerity.
Swallowing her pride, she took action and decided to make it up to Andy by leaving random things on her desk everyday.
Lunch, flowers, snacks, and other things. Miranda did it consistently just to prove her point that she's serious about what she feels for Andy. It may not be grand, but surely it did make Andy smile, as she sees her receive the little gifts every single day.
Andy was being thrown jokes by her workmates, teasing her about her 'secret admirer'.
Little do they know, it's their Editor-in-Chief who's behind all the effort, Andy thought.
Andy would be a hypocrite to say she doesn't feel anything with Miranda's actions. After all, she has feelings for her. Of course, her heart jumps with joy whenever she looks at the little 'peace offerings' (or maybe more than that) that Miranda is leaving with her. If she's being honest, she's even looking forward to it. She never imagined Miranda to be doing for her. Maybe Nigel was right, she underestimated herself a lot, thinking she never had a chance with Miranda. In reality, she has.
This small interaction between Miranda and Andy has warmed up their relationship. This sparked the both of them to exchange text messages late at night. It becomes their start of conversation, until they ask each other about their day, then exchange their good nights to each other.
