Chapter Text
TMNT 2012 Power AU
Where the Turtles Develop Powers - The turtles suddenly awaken supernatural abilities tied directly to who they are as individuals. These powers are not random gifts, but reflections of their personalities, emotional roles, and the way they naturally support each other as a family.

💙Leonardo
Copying and amplifying
Focus: Spirit
Leonardo’s power reflects his role as a leader and stabilizing force within the team. He is defined by his ability to understand others, adapt under pressure, and bring out the best in his brothers.
Why this power fits him:
Leo carries the pressure of being the leader, constantly pushing himself to be perfect, composed, and capable of supporting his team no matter the situation. He has always worked to master every form of combat, every weapon, and every possible approach so he can adapt when his brothers need him most. His ability to use and enhance their powers reflects this mindset—copying his brothers’ powers mirrors his mastery of their weapons, his discipline, and his adaptability, allowing him to combine different strengths into one controlled flow when the team depends on him. His power represents his role as a leader who must stay steady under pressure, always prepared, always responsible, and always expected to hold everything together.
Even though Leo’s copied abilities are weaker than the originals, his years of discipline, training, and combat strategy allow him to consistently outfight his brothers in real combat. He doesn’t win through raw power, but through precision, timing, adaptability, and reading the battlefield better than anyone else
Powers:
• Power Mimicry (copies Donnie, Raph, and Mikey’s abilities in weaker form)
• Power Amplification (enhances his brothers’ powers)
• Can use Donnie’s future visions when he wants through meditation and focus.
Weaknesses:
• Can only use one power at a time.
• His copied abilities are weaker.
• Constantly compares himself to his brothers.
“Raph has his forcefields. Donnie has visions. Mikey has empathy. What do I have?”
Leo struggles with the feeling that he does not have something uniquely his own. While others have clear, defined abilities, his power is fragmented—borrowed pieces of his family’s strengths. Even though he is often the one who brings those strengths together in battle, he quietly questions whether he would still matter without them.

❤️Raphael
Forcefield Generation and Strength
Focus:Force
Raphael’s power reflects his intensity, protectiveness, and emotional immediacy. He is the first to act, the first to react, and the one who throws himself into danger without hesitation when his family is threatened.
Raphael’s power is fundamentally designed for protection. It is meant to create barriers that defend himself and others, block attacks, and keep people safe. However, Raph rarely uses it that way as he use it mostly to attack.
Why this power fits him:
Raph is driven by intense emotion, especially anger, fear, and the instinct to protect his family at any cost. He often reacts before he thinks, throwing himself into danger the moment someone he cares about is threatened. His forcefields reflect this emotional intensity, turning raw feeling into physical constructs that form instantly under pressure. What is meant to be protection becomes something shaped by instinct and emotion, allowing him to defend, control, and overwhelm threats in the moment he feels them
Powers:
• Creates and shapes forcefields of various sizes.
• Shapes forcefields into constructs such as shields, spheres, spikes, platforms, barriers, and armor.
• Uses forcefields offensively to push, trap, launch, or crush opponents.
• Multiplies his physical strength.
Weaknesses:
• His emotional state directly affects his creations.
• Anger, panic, or frustration make his constructs unstable.
• Loss of control causes forcefields to weaken or shatter.
Raph believes strength means control, but his power challenges that belief. The more emotional he becomes, the less reliable his abilities are, forcing him to confront the very emotions he tries to suppress.

💜Donatello
Vision & Telekinesis
Focus: Brain/ Mind
Donatello’s power reflects his analytical mind and constant need to understand, predict, and solve problems. His abilities are rooted in thought, possibility, and mental processing.
Why this power fits him:
Donnie is always ahead of the situation, constantly calculating what could go wrong and how to fix it before it happens. He feels pressure to solve everything, to be the one who provides answers, and to never fall behind. His telekinesis reflects his need to turn thought directly into action, working faster and more efficiently as if his mind refuses to wait for his body. His visions represent the cost of this constant overthinking—his mind continuing to predict possible outcomes even when he is supposed to rest. In essence, Donatello’s power reflects a mind under constant pressure, always running through possibilities, consequences, and solutions at once, driven by an unending need to think ahead.
Powers:
• Receives visions of possible future events during sleep.
• Can move objects using telekinesis.
• Can manipulate multiple objects at once.
• Uses visions to identify patterns and solutions.
Weaknesses:
• Overthinking weakens telekinesis.
• Future visions are fragmented or unclear.
• Interference with the future may alter outcomes unpredictably.
• Mental exhaustion from constant processing and lack of rest (during or after a bad vision it causes him to react badly like crying and shouting).
Donnie carries knowledge he cannot safely share. Even certainty becomes dangerous, because changing the future is always a risk he cannot fully calculate. This creates isolation—he often knows things others do not, but cannot act on them without fear of consequences. At times, Leo experiences similar visions, and they try to support each other through them, but even together they struggle to meaningfully change what they see, leaving them both carrying the weight of outcomes they cannot fully control.

🧡Michelangelo
Empathy and Mind Reading
Focus: Heart/ Emotions
Michelangelo’s power reflects his emotional sensitivity and deep connection to others. He naturally understands people on an emotional level, and his abilities amplify that awareness into something tangible.
Why this power fits him:
Mikey has always been the heart of the group, the one who lifts his brothers’ spirits and helps improve situations even in the worst moments. He naturally supports them emotionally, encouraging them in ways they don’t always realize they need. He is quick to notice when something is wrong, often sensing emotional shifts before anything is said aloud. Mikey is also highly social and adaptable, easily making friends and adjusting to different situations with ease. He sees parts of people that others overlook and views the world in a different.
Powers:
• Senses emotions.
• Influences emotional states.
• Reads thoughts with concentration.
• Gains emotional memories through touch.
• Detects hidden truths through emotional impressions.
Weaknesses:
• Requires focus for mind-reading.
• Must physically touch to access emotional memories.
• Older memories are harder to access.
• Absorbs emotions from others.
• Struggles to separate his emotions from theirs.
Mikey does not only feel his own emotions—he feels everyone else’s as well. When his family suffers, he carries that weight too. Over time, he begins to struggle with identifying where his own feelings end and others begin.
Imagine:
•Leo is stressed.
•Raph is angry.
•Donnie is anxious.
Mikey walks into the room and suddenly feels all three emotions at once

Early Signs of Their Powers Long before the powers fully manifested, small traces of them already existed in their everyday lives—moments that seemed like instincts, intuition, or coincidence at the time.
For example:
• Donatello frequently experienced moments of sudden clarity after sleep, solving problems that seemed impossible before resting, as if his mind was already processing outcomes beyond awareness.
• Michelangelo consistently sensed emotional shifts in others, often reacting to moods before they were expressed, offering comfort or humor at exactly the right moments without understanding how he knew.
At the time, these moments were dismissed as instinct, coincidence, or intuition. Only later did it become clear; the powers were always there—quietly shaping them long before they ever awakened.
