Chapter Text
Harlequin was being a dick again.
He had been pining after Columbina for AGES, as everyone in the circus knew, and he kept trying to convince the poor woman to “give him a chance.”
It was absolutely ridiculous.
Aerial and Columbina were sitting in her tent, sharing a few oranges. The latter was venting about the green monster’s previous actions.
“I just don’t understand! I have made sure to explain that I don’t see him like that, and he chooses to ignore it every time!”
Aerial took a big bite of a slice. “Tell him he’s a pathetic rat who needs to accept rejection.”
Columbina’s eyes flashed in disappointment. “He’s not pathetic. He’s just…”
“A dumbass.”
“I was going to say ‘coping’.”
Aerial rolled her eyes. “Well his COPING is ruining everyone’s moods. He can cope elsewhere. Preferably down in Hell where he belongs.”
“AERIAL.”
“Columbina.”
“That’s just cruel.”
With a scoff, she replied, “What’s cruel is Harlequin and Pierrot’s bickering waking me up in the middle of the night. Tell your little boyfriend to properly beat up Harley next time.”
“First of all, I’m not telling him that. Second of all, he’s not my BOYFRIEND.”
Aerial checked her rose-colored nails. “Sure thing honey. Whatever lets you sleep at night. WHICH I CAN’T DO. BECAUSE OF THEIR STUPID FIGHTING—“
Columbina shushed her. “Alright, alright. I’ll tell Pierrot to at least keep it down next time. Alright?”
Grudgingly, she nodded, narrowing her teal eyes. “Fine.”
Finishing up her fruit, Columbina stood up. “Well, I have errands to run—“
“More like you need to go talk to Pierrot, and get harassed by Harlequin at the same time.”
She sighed. “Sure.”
As Columbina left the tent, Aerial hung upside down off her chair, feeling the blood rush into her head.
One of these days, she was going to beat the shit out of Harlequin.
One of these days.
She took off her jester hat, revealing the horns hiding underneath. This was an attribute of all the monsters. It was truly annoying, considering they always had to wear the stupid hats to cover them, as well as sleep on their stomachs,
Columbina was lucky. Her horns were tiny, so they weren’t much of a bother.
When she began to feel dizzy, Aerial sat back up. Her waist-length silver hair cascaded over her shoulders.
Aerial was the youngest of the group, yet the second tallest, to her delight. At 6’6, she was only one inch taller than Pierrot, but that was alright with her.
Except Harlequin enjoyed pissing off people taller than him way too much.
Dumbass.
She got along best with Columbina and Ticket Taker. She genuinely enjoyed helping the latter organize and plan the events in the circus.
She also pitied him greatly, considering that his tent was right next to the green gremlin’s.
Aerial didn’t like nor hate Pierrot, she just found him slightly annoying at times. However, he was fairly sweet towards Columbina, so she kept quiet.
Doctor preferred experimenting and taking care of his plants in his tent, rather than talking to the other circus members, so she never really talked to him much. He seemed nice though.
Jester was the mother of the group, whether he acknowledged it or not. She hadn’t pissed him off too badly yet, except for the time she threatened to shave his hair off if he lay a finger on her collection again.
His reaction wasn’t one of amusement.
“Pierrot made dinner again. Come eat.”
Speak of the devil.
Aerial looked up at Jester poking his head in her tent.
“Thanks. I’ll be there in a sec.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Nice try. You said that last time.”
“I WAS BUSY—“
“EAT.”
“FINE.”
