The Wolf who stole the Rainbow for herself

Summary:

She hated it. She hated having to step aside so her soulmate could be with that pathetic wolf. She despised it, but it didn't matter as long as her soulmate could keep her vibrant colours - she would bite her tongue and keep quite about it.
She hated it even more when her soulmate started loosing her colours because of that pathetic wolf. She had had enough. If that stupid wolf wouldn't love her lively colours then she would steal the little rainbow for herself.

Notes:

Chapter Text

Burning. She felt like every part of her was burning.

Her lungs were protesting while her legs were ready to hand over a resignation letter. She wanted to give up. She just wanted to fall to her knees and accept her fate. Maybe the mindless beast her professor had turned into would be merciful and grant her a painless death.

She wondered how she got into that situation. How she ended up being chased by a werewolf during a fullmoon. Why in the grace of her lady the Moon was she in the Forbiden forest. Right now she should have been softly snoring in her bed or even reading whatever had caught her latest interest.

As she glanced to her side she remembered why. Harry. No, not the boy-who-lived, never him, rather Harry, the Harry who was her brother in everything but blood. İt was for the boy who noticed she wasn't at the Halloween feast and came to save her from a troll.

İt was for the boy she loved with her everything, not in a romantic way, but in a way that one loved a younger sibling.  İn a way that you want to strangle them daily yet no one but you were allowed to bully them.

She hated the way Harry was treated by the Dursleys. No child should go through that. She hated the way no one did anything about it. She hated how the all powerful headmaster still sent him back to that place every summer.

Yes, that's why. That's why she was breaking so many laws of time travel and doing this. She was doing it to save to get her brother out of that hell hole. Ofcourse there also the fact that she was saving two innocent lived contibuted but it wasn't that important. The important fact was that one of those innocent lives was Sirius Black - the dogfather of Harry. His ticket to getting rid of the Dursleys.

"Ha-" she started before hissing in pain as she felt razor sharp teeth grazing her leg. Thick and warm blood trickled down her leg. İt burned much more than the scratch should but she didn't have the time to analyze.

The pain caused her knee to buckle for a moment and it was enough for her to trip over a tree root. Then Harry, oh selfless Harry did what he always did and threw himself on Hermione to try to shield her with his body.

'That's it.'  Hermione thought to herself. 'This is the end. İ will not  have to worry about the megalomaniac coming back to life. İnstead İ will pay him a visit at the other side of the veil'

She closed her eyes and braced herself for the pain as she muttered one last prayer in the name of the Moon. One second, two seconds, three seconds, then five seconds yet the pain didn't come.

She pried her eyes open just in time to see Buckbeak clawing at professor Lupin in his werewolf form. Seeing this they scrambled up to their feet and ran towards the frozen lake.

Being traumatized by another brush with the death could wait. They still had things to do.
