Chapter Text
It was a bright, sunny day. The kind of day that was warm, but not overbeingly so. The perfect day to announce the arrival of not one, but two new STARs!
First is a rainbow flower toon called Dandicus Dancifer, or just Dandy for short. A toon that, despite his past with performance, chose to be a STAR for medicine instead. He walked up onto the stage, where the celebration was being held. The other STARs politely clapped as he greeted Mickey, shaking his hand as he looked over everyone with a polite smile on his face. As soon as that was over, he turned away from the crowd and sat down in one of the two empty chairs with the others, his new coworkers.
Next and lastly was a demon toon named Bendy the Wolf, or just simply Bendy. Who, unlike Dandy, decided to follow after his performance history to become a STAR for the theatre. He got up onto the stage, a smile already on his face as he walked up and shook Mickey's hand. After they exchanged pleasantries, he went and sat next to his partner as Mickey turned to their audience.
As Mickey drowned on about stuff and how excited he was to see the new STARs and what they shall bring to the table, yada yada, Bendy couldn’t help but focus his attention elsewhere. Specifically, on the matching ring hanging from Dandy’s necklace, a promise that they had made recently that they’ll be together no matter how much they fight.

As Mickey wrapped everything up, they all went down the stairs and towards the STARs building for the afterparty. A chance to socialize with the others, and to get closer to your new coworkers! Bendy walked in behind everyone first, wearing a suit of mostly cooler colouring as he walked towards the offered drinks and foods. He grabbed a glass of champagne as he waited for a specific someone to approach him. However, before the person he was waiting for arrived, a certain cat did. “You still wearing that old thing?” He asked, while grabbing a plate and starting to put whatever foods he desired on it.
“Oh, yeah!” Bendy said, letting his hand not holding the drink fiddle with his goggles slightly
“Heh, I’m surprised ya even kept it this long,” Was I… supposed to get rid of it? “Even more surprised by how brave ya are to wear ‘em in front of me! Gotta say, I’m impressed!” Impressed…? For some reason, that doesn’t sound like a good thing- ”Oh, and that’s my cue to leave! Talk to ya later,” Is the last thing he says as he walks after with his food and drinks towards some other cat toon. Bendy, as he watched him walk away, gripped the goggles around his neck even tighter before releasing them with a heavy sigh. Removing his gaze from Felix’s back, he was finally greeted by his partner, Dandy! Feeling his good mood return, a smile crossed his face before opening his mouth to speak.
“Dandy! It’s nice to finally be with you again,” Bendy said, looking over at the other. His smile dropped a little, noticing the others' attention elsewhere, but it’s not like it’s Dandy's fault! There are just so many people. Of course, he wants to make some connections with his new coworkers!
“Oh, Bendy! This has been great, getting to see and meet everyone!” He starts, grabbing a plate and piling some food onto it, “Personally, I’ve been having so much fun talking to the others. You should join me with the others-” As Dandy kept speaking, Bendy couldn’t help but notice how happy he seemed to be. So much happier than usual…

“Oh, I don’t know, darlin', this doesn’t seem like a good idea-”
“Nonsense! There’s no way this could go wrong. Don’t you trust me?”
“...I do. Alright, let's go!”
–
Something did go wrong. Nobody knows how it happened, but it did.
“Bendy! H-HELP ME! BENDY, PLEASE?”
“...”
“BENDY! AREN’T- Aren’t we… partners?” Bendy looks down at him, looks around at the mess the place has become, looks back at him, and… ignores the other's outstretched hand.

Bendy looked down at the ring still on his finger, the promise ring from Dandy, in silence for a few moments before his emotions won over him. He rips the ring from his finger, tears open a drawer to throw it in, slamming it shut before he walks away from it.
He ignores the tears running down his face as he does so.

It was a rainy, horrible weather day. The kind of day where you just want to lie down in your bed and sleep until the weather clears up. It was a boring meeting when they noticed the new person at the table; there was no notice, no warning, nothing. They’re just sitting there, as if they’ve always been there. Nobody mentions it, the pin on his chest tells them he’s supposed to be here—just a new co-worker for them, one that arrived with no fuss.
How… interesting. Different. Bendy can’t help but take note of the new person, the cup toon. Don’t think I’ve ever met one of them before. He tried to turn his attention back to whatever the mouse was downing on about; however, he couldn’t help but let his gaze wander back to him every time he tried to focus on what Mickey was saying.
When the meeting was finished, Bendy tried to catch up with the other but he somehow seemed to have vanished. The same as he arrived, silently, and with no warning.
–
As time dragged on, the other seemed to become louder in letting others know about his existence. Responding playfully to Sonic's light-hearted jabs at him, doing his best to actually listen to Mario's nonsense about building, listening to when the others talked, even if he likely wanted to be anywhere else. The only one he seemed wary of was Mickey, which was interesting since outside of Meetings, Bendy could never find him. It was like every time he disappeared like a ghost somehow! Despite all of Bendy’s efforts, they’ve never even shared a proper conversation! At this point, it was starting to get less interesting and more annoying the way the other seemly avoided him, and the fact that it’s likely by accident makes it even worse!
Guess they’re just fated to never cross paths with each other…
