Sanji has been staring at the clock a lot at work today.
He really does love his job. Cooking for people has always been one of his favorite things. Seeing peoples faces light up with joy after the first bite always fills him with happiness.
But lately he’s been obsessed with his new game Tomodachi Life. So much so that he’s been anxious to go home to play it.
When it was finally time for him to clock out he practically ran out of the restaurant. The whole way home he was thinking about what his Miis have been up to while he was gone.
Once he was home he changed into some more comfortable clothes and grabbed a nice fluffy blanket. He figured nobody was home so he decided to curl up on the couch with his Switch and loaded up the game.
All the Miis on his island are of his friends, along with some celebrities and fictional characters he likes. Everyday he checks the clothing shop to see if there’s any cute clothes for his Miis. He always carefully dresses his lady Miis in adorable outfits fitting each of their fashion styles.
Lately though, he’s been having a bit of a problem and it’s happening again.
SanjiMii has a pink love bubble over the top of his head. He taps on it and hopes little SanjiMii has a crush on one of the pretty ladies he’s added on his island. But as always his problem is happening again.
“I think I have feelings for Marimo, what do you think?”
This is probably the 5th time this has happened. Either with his Mii crushing on ZoroMii or vice versa. He always picks the option saying “You’re imagining things” but this time he hesitates.
Why is he hesitating, of course he doesn’t want his Mii to fall for that stupid mosshead.
Right?
He tells himself it’s all for the plot when he clicks “It must be love!” not because of his little secret crush he might have on the mossball.
But it really is just a game, it’s not like it’s real or anything. ZoroMii isn’t the actual Zoro and it isn’t going to affect his real relationship with him. It is his game after all, he can do whatever he wants with all his Miis.
The little SanjiMii beams with a blush on his face when he realizes his feelings. Sanji tries to deny that he might have a similar look on his own face.
Afterwards he decides to take care of his other Miis needs. Like giving NamiMii the new dress he bought just for her and feeding LuffyMii because even in the game he seems to have a never ending appetite. RobinMii asks for a new item so Sanji decides to go use the palette house to draw one of her favorite books.
As he’s moving around the map he notices yet another pink bubble on SanjiMiis house.
Well that was fast.
Once he clicks on it SanjiMii says “I can’t hold back my feelings for Marimo. I need to tell him how I feel.”
Well if he got this far he might as well go through with it to the end. He agrees to it and decides to have him confess at the restaurant.
The scene plays out with SanjiMii confessing his love with a cake to ZoroMii. Sanji’s silently begging he doesn’t get rejected. Even if it’s just a game, it would still be embarrassing to get rejected by Zoro.
Right before ZoroMii was going to answer, LuffyMii decides to show up and confess his love for ZoroMii. By now Sanji is gripping onto his Switch. He does not want to lose ZoroMii to LuffyMii’s confession. I mean he didn’t even have a crush on ZoroMii like SanjiMii did. Get in line LuffyMii!
Sanji’s nervously waiting for who ZoroMii decides to pick and almost leaps out of his seat in joy when he hears ZoroMii’s answer.
“I would love to go out with you Cook.”
Sanji was so excitedly focused on the confession that he didn’t notice the footsteps behind him.
“What are you doing?”
His heart drops. He knows this voice and it’s the last voice he wants to hear especially when that voice’s Mii version is confessing to him.
“Shitty mosshead don’t sneak up on me like that.”
Maybe he can change the subject.
“Is that me?”
Or not.
Once he looks at Zoro, he notices that he must’ve just got back from the gym. He’s wearing a black workout tank top and his chest is glistening with sweat.
He must’ve been staring because Zoro coughs and when Sanji looks up he’s got a small smirk on his face.
Sanji quickly looks away.
“Not every green haired video game character is you Marimo.”
He’ll just try to deflect to save some of his dignity.
“Well it sure looks like me, it’s got my earrings and my scar. Also that blonde one has your curly eyebrows.”
“Must be coincidence.”
Zoro deadpans.
“Nice try curly, but I’m pretty sure Usopp plays that same game. He showed it to me once talking about how he added everyone to his island or whatever.”
Sanji feels his cheeks start to heat up. There’s no way to get out of this one.
“Well it’s not my fault. They kept falling for each other so I just finally clicked yes.”
When Sanji looked back to the screen he saw both Miis walking around with a little text on the bottom that said “they’re on a date!”
Zoro must've moved closer because when he spoke again Sanji could feel his breath on his neck.
“No other reason?”
Sanji slightly turned his head towards Zoro.
“What’s that supposed to mean?”
“Well from what I saw, it looked like your Mii asked mine out. Maybe it was a reflection of it’s original version.”
Zoro was staring at him now and Sanji could feel his cheeks heat up again.
“Tch, if anything it would be you asking me out.”
“Really, and if I did what would you say?”
Sanji pauses. Is he just teasing or is he being serious.
“You’d have to ask me to find out.”
Zoro leans in even closer than he already was.
“Cook, will you go out with me?”
Sanji’s taken back by that. He didn’t believe he would actually go through with it. With the look on Zoro’s face, it doesn’t look like he’s teasing. Matter of fact, he even looked a little nervous.
Sanji, a little breathless, finally responds.
“Yeah I’d like that Marimo.”
That answer seemed to relieve the nervousness on Zoro’s face because he smirked and finally replied.
“Great, then Friday. Wear something nice.”
With that, Zoro got up and started walking towards the bathroom leaving Sanji on the couch in shock.
Did he really just get a date with the mosshead.
When he finally snapped out of his trance and looked back towards his Switch he saw another pink bubble on SanjiMii. He clicked on the bubble and heard SanjiMii’s voice again.
“I want to propose to Marimo. Do you think that’s a good idea?”
