Chapter Text

Now that we were in the End dimension, Daniel and I had nothing better to do than explore the terrain, loot up, and come up with a plan for the border expansion. We had brought Minute with us since he was available, but after the high of getting in and closing the portal behind us died down, he flew off solo to stock up on End materials and overall probably wanted to be alone.

Daniel went off to map out the entire dimension and search for potential missed elytra, and I was left alone at our temporary base. Sure, it was quiet and spacious, but I had just spent weeks preparing and planning out this cold, demential voyage, and I had done it all with one person. Being around my teammate was the only real thing that kept me sane all that time, especially during that book fiasco.

I wanted to call an emergency meeting, but for the better of the team and for Minute’s crippling anxiety, I decided to just stay back and decorate the base, touch up some farms, and even block up the portal so none of us accidentally walked out. As I was working on making the base look like a home, PrinceZam, one of my enemies, added me to a group call. I hesitantly answered the phone and was shockingly met with Daniel’s voice. I kept quiet for the most part, not wanting to dart in on their conversation, and, to be honest, I was really just listening to Daniel speak. I missed his voice, how he’d tell me to get back to work, and how quickly his brain got to working on ideas.

I had spent so much time with him that it felt like being far from him was tearing me apart.

Zam noticed my little conversation and began blabbing on about sand duplication and how she would need an End portal to do it, so she was obviously trying to get me to do it for her, which I won’t. Besides, Team Bing has done nothing but cause me pain, loss, and overall stress. I sat down in the cactus farm, as it was our only Enderman-proof area, and sulked quietly. I missed Daniel desperately..his face, his voice, the way his brain worked effortlessly, heck, even his British accent. I still needed him to be around me.

I curled up into a ball and just lay there- not crying, not whining, just lying there. All I could think about was my teammate; all I wanted was him. I guess, after spending so much time working together, I had developed an attachment to him, something I’m not too sure he would be okay with.

I lay on the ground for hours, listening to Daniel and Zam talk about nonsense, before I heard the sound of a rocket and an elytra cutting through the air, followed by a pretty heavy fall and a whine.

I immediately knew that Daniel was finally back. Zam decided that she would go to bed early to prepare for a Pangi event, so Daniel came down to hang out with me. He was surely shocked or surprised when he saw the terrible state I was in.

“You just can’t live without me, can you?”

he said sarcastically before taking a seat beside me. I nodded, still holding onto my legs, before he picked me up and plopped me down on a pile of pillows and blankets, since beds are dangerous explosives in the End dimension. He pulled me into a tight hug, and we simply lay there quietly. My mind was finally at peace, and it seemed that Daniel wasn’t at all upset with our closeness. Soon, the calm silence was broken by Daniel, who was leaving audible kisses up my arm and neck, whispering sweet messages that brought me joy.

I soon shifted to his lap and laid my head on his shoulder to give him better access to my neck. Soon, I started to fall asleep, and Daniel took notice of my sleepiness and started to rub my back.

When I woke up from my unexpected nap, Daniel was still fast asleep, holding onto me tightly. Surprisingly, Minutetech was also down there sleeping, but he made it very clear that he had no intentions of cuddling with anyone. It felt super nice to be this close to my teammates. We don’t really come together for stuff too often, and when we do, we’re usually very quiet and self-kept.

However, there’s a reason Minute is pretty quiet: our teammate, ClownPeirce, wasn’t able to make it to the portal in time, and I’m sure Minute was distraught by it. We don’t know if it’s possible to get him without alerting our enemies or completely locking us out of the End entirely. I cuddled up closer to Daniel, enjoying the calm flow of the water that kept Endermen out of the farms, and closed my eyes…
