Work Text:

Jackson stood just at the porch of the house, he knew he wasn’t going to make it out of there alive. Every time he’s had a gut feeling since he became a cop it’d always end up right. He had one now, the killer wanted him and most likely only him anyways so he might as well end it now, go in and get it over with. He looked over towards his co-worker, Carter Dust whose kid was somewhere in that house, Jackson told him he’d get his kid back and he’ll stand by that the best he can.

“Right, Carter I want you and the other to go look for Caden, I’ll deal with our killer”.
He stared at Carter, watching his friend look at him with confusion written all over his face. “You? go by yourself? Jackson, are you crazy!?” Jackson simply shrugged at his friend, how was he meant to answer that? maybe he was, he was going into this death trap willingly after all.
“You know how every time I’ve had a gut feeling something bad happens..I don’t want you to be there when it happens, Dust, I don’t want you to see my body.”

He watched as his “friends” face contorted into horror. He finally realized just what he meant, Carter rushed over and hugged him tightly.
“You’re a suicidal maniac sometimes you know that don’t you?” Jackson just hummed before hugging the other man back, there’s something he’d never admit but he did have a thing for Carter, there’s no need to deny it now if he’s just going to die.
He lightly pushed the other away, insisting he went in through another part of the house, just in case something did happen.

Jackson opened the door and stepped inside, he smelt it immediately; gas, if anyone shot a gun or hell anything could make this place explode with just how strong the smell was. He walked through the house cautiously until he was face to face with the..thing itself, he didn’t look human, he was too long, too skinny, he was pale..no not just pale, white like a ghost. It didn’t take long for Jackson to notice the man had a gun, he slowly raised his at the man not even daring to shoot knowing the consequences that would happen if he did.
Jackson heard a creak as he saw the man’s smile grow wider, unfortunately for Jackson it wasn’t too long after that the last thing he heard was a click and a boom.
