Chapter Text
Kida gasped for air as her head broke the surface of the lake.
“Milo” she gasped.
Milo was treading water with Commander Lyle Tiberius Rourke’s gun pointed between his eyes.
“ri'sojba”(squid) Kida cursed in her native atlantean tongue.
One of the soldiers standing around the water grabbed her by her hair and arm and yanked her out of the water.
Immediately her leg kicked out to take him down. Three more of his companions followed, she pulled her crystal encrusted knife and stabbed towards the first one who was getting back on his feet. She raised her blade to strike, BANG the knife was shot out of her hand. She pulled her hand back cursing once more “ri'sojba'nɛt” (squid-face)
Several soldiers replaced the ones lying on the ground and there were simply too many of them. She gave the one who had grabbed her a parting kick to the balls before being dragged towards her father’s palace.
“Milo!” she yelled, watching him being dragged off in a different direction.
The Commander chuckled and grabbed her by the back of her neck, like the mothers do with newborn lava pups.
“yob (crystal) give me strength” she muttered.
“Let’s go meet daddy dearest again” Rourke grinned.
Kida bit in his direction lika a newborn parrot lizard “satib.yoh” (move along)
Her blind father had not the first clue the vulnerable position his only daughter was in until he heard the tears in her voice “Tab.top, lud.en neb.et kwam gesu bog.e.kem” (Father we can not help these people)
He nodded even though he knew he was risking his daughter's life.
“Your majesty,” Rourke purred. “you will give me Atlantis to do with as I please”
“No!” Kida yelled.
Rourke's gun clicked, Kida braced herself for death.
“Your majesty this is a one time offer, I suggest you take it, for your daughter.”
The majestic king shook his head.
BANG! The gunshot was fired next to Kida's head, it made her ears ring.
“NO!” She watched her fathers body fall limp to the floor, a pool of blood forming.
“Well look at that princess, you've been promoted” Rourke's voice carried not a hint of regret or remorse, it was cold as ice.
Kida broke free and ran towards her father desperately trying to do anything, she put her crystal to his wound and began chanting.
It lit up with blue light, her dad's eyes flew open
“kwam gwis.in bog.e.kem”(help our people) he wheezed before all light left his eyes.
“Tab.top!”(father!) she cried, cradling his face in her hands.
She gently laid his head in her lap before bringing her crystal to his chest to begin the ancient death ritual.
She carefully untied the crystal hanging around his neck and brought it to his forehead before gently pulling down the neckline of his clothes until his chest was exposed.
“Get a move on your highness!”
She murmured in Atlantic “Yobtop, panneb.le.nen, Gamos.yoh makit.tem Adlantis.ag, deg, bernot gawid gom Adlantis” (o crystal, you are knowing, may you hold the king of Atlantis, and yet bring joy to Atlantis)
With those words she closed her eyes, counted to three and rammed the crystal into her fathers quiet heart, the ribs were hard to get through, but she'd had enough practice on animals that it weren't an issue, enough that the sound of flesh parting and blood bubbling didn't concern her. She left the crystal there, as was tradition. According to their belifs his soul would live on in the crystal now.
“That's barbaric, get up kid” Rourke said mockingly.
She lunged at him, he grabbed her by the throat and tossed her to the ground before putting a large boot on her chest, she grabbed at the heel and pushed, blood smearing onto the commander's uniform.
He grinned and pointed his gun to her head, “I suggest you calm down before you join your father”
She closed her mouth slowly and satisfied her need to glare at him.
“Good girl” Rourke smirked, “Now get on your knees”
Kida turned her head to look at her fathers corpse, blood was slowly leaking towards her, coming closer and closer.
Kida would do this, she would save her people at any price, they were worth more than her pride. The princess of Atlantis got to her knees in front of the plunderer.
He slowly knelt down so they were eye-level, “I own you now, princess”
