Chapter Text
It opens to a Female, in a grey shirt, black skirt, heels and long black hair tied into a ponytail as she smirks at the camera. Standing on a dock to an island, looking ready for whatever the camera was shooting.
"Hey! We're coming at you live from camp Wawanakwa, Somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario. I'm your host, Kristal Mclean! Dropping season One of the hottest new reality shows on television right now! For your viewing pleasure!"
As she walked down the dock, the camera followed her.
"Here's the deal, 22 campers of varying ages have signed up to spend eight weeks right here at this crummy old summer camp. They'll compete in challenges against each other. Then have to face the judgment of their fellow campers. Every three days, one team will either win a reward, or watch one of their team member's walk down The dock of shame. Take a ride on the loser boat and leave total drama island, For good........ Maybe."
It cut to the campfire area, Kristal smirking as she sat on one of the logs.
"Their fate will be decided here, at the dramatic campfire ceremonies where each night after every challenge, the losing team will vote someone off and get marshmallows, the one left without one is out of here!"
It cut to another part of the woods as Kristal smiled.
"In the end, only one will be left standing. And will be rewarded with cheesy tabloid fame And a small fortune, which let's face it, they'll probably blow in a week." She chuckled before continuing.
"To survive, and have this prize they'll have to battle."
(It shows Black flies buzzing around)
"Black flies."
(Camera pans out to reveal a grizzly bear)
"grizzly bears."
(Cut's to a giant worm with a face in a bowl)
"disgusting camp food!"
"Hey now." The worm laughed.
"Made by General Chef Hatchet! And each other!"
"Challenges are the normal camp activities. Swimming. Dares. Dodgeball. Paintball. Looking after animals and lots more fun!
(It started showing cameras all over. the place, in trees, in toilets! Even taped to buildings)
"Every moment will be caught on one of the hundreds of cameras situated all over the camp. For our viewing pleasure..... with some exceptions...... We legally green light these right?" Kristal asked.
"Yep! All clear miss Kristal!" A voice was heard as she smirked again.
"Great! Who will crumble under the pressure? Who has the best chance at the prize? Will we have relationship drama, oh most likely! What friendships will be made. What rivalries will blossom here at camp! And who has the drive to win that Prize money? And who will put their name down as the new tv superstar by winning this game show of family fun...... NOT! Find out here right now on..."
"Disventurous"
"Drama"
"Island!"
_____
The theme song plays over an intro sequence.
The first shot depicts Wawanakwa in full, leading up to a giant cliff and zooming past McLean as she yells at an intern before diving into the water below the cliff.
Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doing fine.
You guys are on my mind.
We see Sammy and Grett fighting over some kind of object they found in the water in a tug of war. Before a fish swam right above them, and before either could react, an eagle dive bombed and stole it, making both swim away in terror at the claws being that close to getting them instead of the fish.
You asked me what I wanted to be and now I think the answer is plain to see
I wanna be famous.
The eagle drops the fish onto Nick's head as he was walking back Gabby and Dawn who were meditating together. As Nick yelled at the bird and threw the fish, Gabby's eyes shot open as she lunged onto Nick, making Dawn open her eyes as Nick ran off with Gabby still on his back, Dawn quickly ran after them! Before Gabby could hurt the brit more than she already currently was.
The camera panned over to show Fiore laughing hysterically at the scene, but Rosa walks up, looking at her suspiciously, making her stop laughing and make an adorable face to her, making Rosa put her hands to her heart, melting at this.
I wanna live close to the sun
So pack your bags cause I already won.
Heather is in a canoe with Gwen and Noah, going down the river. Noah is holding his ears at Heather and Gwen arguing about something the viewers don't know about. His eyes go wide at seeing the waterfall, but the girls don't listen as the three go down the waterfall! They pass by Lightning who's lifting a log with one hand while flexing and kissing his bicep. As the trio land on his log, he looks up in confusion at this happening before the bigger log he's standing on suddenly breaks and makes the four continue to fall down farther into the river at the bottom of the waterfall. It cuts to Julia, leaning against the side of the outhouse, laughing at this, her phone at her hip. As MK reaches for it, Julia glares at her as MK whistles innocently.
Everything to prove
Nothing in my way
I’ll get there one day
Cause I wanna be famous.
Inside the mess hall kitchen, we see Chef preparing some disgusting green soup with his bare hand dipped into the pot. He looks behind him at a tied up Aiden and Hunter, both looking petrified of whatever Chef is concocting for them. In the mess hall itself, Bowie sits by Raj, who bashfully grins and blushes at seeing him sit near him.
Outside on the beach, Richard is showing Topher some tricks with a basketball, despite the pretty boy seemingly occupied with his phone, it's clear he's listening to what Richard's telling him.
Na-na-na-na-na-na
Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na
It cuts to the dock, Yul watching Richard and Topher playing basketball with a look of contempt on his face at this happening, before the ball hits him in the face, growling, he picks it up and throws it right at Topher's face, but RIchard is able to protect his face by catching the ball.
I wanna be, I wanna be
I wanna be famous!
Back on the dock, Yul is still yelling at the two when Bowie walks into him, knocking Yul down as Bowie smirks at him. As he walks by, filing his nails, Yul stands up, yelling at him as Julia is walking back into him trying to get a selfie herself, making them both fall to the ground as Bowie smirks watching this happen.
I wanna be, I wanna be
I wanna be famous!
Trent is playing his guitar for Ivy, who is singing for him as he plays his guitar. He leans towards her, a warm smile on his face. As she does the same to him, Grett gets between them, clearly annoyed about something . The two looked at each other awkwardly now as it panned out. The rest of the cast whistles the chorus of the theme song as the camera zooms out to capture them all sitting around the bonfire. The logo appears above them.
Disventurous Drama Island.

_____
Kristal stood on the dock of shame as she seemed to have this visible gleam in her eye as she focused on the camera.
“And now we welcome our soon to be campers! Our reliable, licensed boat driver Marcus will be escorting them one by one for first contact with yours truly. Though we might have forgotten to mention that Camp Wawanakwa isn’t exactly the luxury resort that our campers might be under some inclination that it was supposed to be. Hey, it's not my fault stock resort photos were easier for the ads~.” Kristal said with a shrug of her shoulders.
Before long, what seemed to be this little luxury boat drove by the dock of shame, as the first competitor was dropped off. This individual was a twenty-two year old woman with lightly fair skin and with a clearly Gothic aesthetic to her; purple streaks in her black hair with matching colored lipstick. She wore a black corset with dark blue and black sleeves along with a miniskirt with purple patches on display. Some dark leggings and a pair of tall black boots complete her look as this woman settles to the doc with bags in hand and already seemed confused just touching down.
“And we welcome the first camper to Disventurous Drama Island, Grace Martin~!” Kristal introduced as the young woman had a scowl as she walked to the host with her bags in toe.
“I take it you forgot that I explicitly asked to be referred to as “Gwen” in our pre-season interview?” Gwen asked, clearly a sensitive subject for her.
“Oh whoops! Sorry new host jitters. But welcome Gwen to Camp Wawanakwa~!” Kristal said with a spirited tone as Gwen took a one look at the camp grounds the dock led too and seemed to be shocked.
“Wait, this is Camp Wawanakwa!? Okay no, this is not what I signed up for.” Gwen said as clearly she was less than impressed and not shy sharing this.
“This contract you signed seems to suggest otherwise.” Kristal said showing Gwen’s signed contract for the show, a pile of papers Gwen took and with a smug satisfaction tore to several pieces to dump in the water. Kristal simply smirked and snapped her fingers holding her hand out. A shorter man in an afro walked over and passed a new batch of papers in her hand that the host showed to Gwen.
“You know the first piece of advice I got from our lawyers? Always have copies ready.” Kristal said, as Gwen grabbed this stack and tore that to pieces too. Only for another stack of papers to be passed to Kristal not missing a beat.
“We can do this all day sweetie~” Kristal said as Gwen, between the seemingly endless stack of contracts and her boat having long sailed away, realized the futility of this as she took her bags and seemed to glare at the host.
“Thanks, I already hate it here.” Gwen muttered but she seemed resigned to her fate, walking to the end of the dock much to her annoyance.
As the luxury Boat came back around.... or was another one (let's not get into that!) Arrived, out walked a dark skinned male. Around twenty two. He had blond hair, with an ear piercing. He was wearing a light blue t-shirt with a dark purple vest, a lighter purple long sleeve shirt under that, with a necklace for flair. He also had on pale blue bracelets too. Both shirts ended at his waist, leaving the bottom half of his waist showing. Lastly was Blue skinny jeans and purple and white sneakers as he looked around, smirking slightly at the camp.
"Let's meet Player Number Two! Bowie Williams!" Kristal said as Bowie walked up, a hand on his hip.
"Hmmm. I could have sworn the website said this was an all-star resort........ Bummer. There's still money right?" Bowie asked.
"Oh totally! But it won't be easy!" Kristal held a giggle as Bowie shrugged.
"I'm not one for an easy victory. If I want something like a crown. I earned it." Bowie said.
"Which is why we casted you! We loved your pre-season interview by the way." Kristal laughed.
"I always try to deliver." Bowie smirked.
“Oh I already love how you're scheming. I knew you had that in you.” Krsital grinned.
"I can live with that." He said as he walked over to where Gwen stood.
“Uh…. Miss Kristal. You didn’t do the interviews.” Oliver whispered.
“Don’t let them know that!” Kristal hissed as Oliver nodded nervously.
"I take it they lied to you too?" Bowie smirked, pulling out a nail file as he started using it.
"Yeah." Gwen scowled, arms crossed, ignoring his eyes as Bowie raised a brow.
"Touchy already are we?" He chuckled.
"Stuck here at a crappy summer camp solely to win a hundred thousand dollars. Yeah. super stoked to be here." Gwen said as Bowie held his tongue.
This one was a feisty one. And he loved that. An easy drama maker if the description of the show meant anything.
The familiar luxury boat once more came and went with the newest arrival to the Island. This individual was a twenty-five year old man who was well built, over six feet tall in fact and a pale fella with black hair styled a bit with a bag in hand and a silver piercing on display on his ear. He is wearing a gray shirt with a light gray skull necklace, black pants with dark and light gray boots.
“And we welcome our third competitor, Hunter Page!” Kristal called out as Hunter smiled and walked over to the host carrying his bag.
“Hey there Kristal, glad to be on the show!” Hunter said, though as he paused he glanced around him noticing the camp layout.
“Though, I think there is a mistake here. This didn’t look like that resort in the pictures.” Hunter said as Kristal remained all smiles.
“Oh no mistake here, this is exactly where we are meant to be.” Kristal clarified to the young man.
“Oh, well, okay, this place is kinda cool too I guess. Appreciate being here.” Hunter said as Kristal seemed to direct him to the other end of the dock.
“Yeah much as small chatter is all riveting, we have a schedule to keep. Go join your fellow campers~.” Kristal explained.
“Oh uh okay.” Hunter said with a sheepish rub of the back of the neck, walking over to where Gwen and Bowie were standing.
“So, fancy meeting you guys here.” Hunter said, attempting to be casual as Gwen raised an eyebrow.
“You mean in the show we all signed up for?” Gwen asked.
“Well uh yes but what I meant was…” Hunter said, stumbling a bit with his words unsure what to say next.
“Oh sweetie, I’d say just quit while…well I was gonna say while you were ahead but that’d be a lie.” Bowie said as Hunter sighed in defeat.
The familiar luxury boat once more came and went with the next female to the island. A Nineteen Year old girl with shoulder length Blonder hair got off the boat. She had on a yellow and white cheerleading outfit. a yellow and white skirt. A yellow top with white sleeves. And she had on white heeled boots as she nervously smiled, waving as she got off the boat, as it drove off.
"Let's welcome camper number Four! Amy White!" Kristal said as the girl looked confused.
"Uh..... It's Sammy White...." The girl nervously said as Kristal blinked, turning to Oliver right beside her.
"The paper said Amy!" Kristal hissed.
"Production wanted her more. They felt her sister was uh.... a bit much." Oliver sheepishly smiled.
"Oh my god. I told them to let me see the script." Sighing, Kristal smiled at Sammy.
"My bad, Sammy White, the twin sister of Amy!...... unless i'm wrong on that too!" Kirstal snapped.
"Uh.... I was born 12 minutes later, but technically twins." Sammy sheepishly smiled.
"Close enough! Welcome!" Kristal said as Sammy walked over to the others.
"Uh..... hi." She sheepishly grinned as Bowie chuckled.
"Seems you have competition for socially awkward." He said to Hunter.
"Hey!" Hunter said as Sammy stood beside him.
"It's true...... most prefer my sister to me." Sammy sighed.
"Girl, you're fine. Everyone's a certain taste." Bowie said.
"Expect more social outcasts and rejects. Clearly that's who they casted here." Gwen scowled.
"Touchy." Sammy mumbled, looking away as Gwen gave her an unamused glare.
"So uh........ What's your favorite hobby?" Hunter smiled as Sammy turned to him, eyes going wide.
"Is that a question card?!" She asked as Hunter quickly pocketed it, laughing nervously
"No." He said as Gwen rolled her eyes and Bowie chuckled at the two's conversation.
Once more that same luxury boat had arrived back to the dock only to drop off the next contestant and sail back to the sea. This next competitor was another well built twenty three year old man with dark skin who had very short dark hair and a white earring on. He was wearing this gold and blue varsity jacket with a prominent “L” on the chest along with a pair of shorts and a pair of blue and white sneakers.
“And making our fifth arrival to the cast, Rudolph Jackson!” Kristal announced.
With a bag over his shoulder, the man seemed to all but slide his way over to Kristal as his bag fell beside him and he seemed to strike a pose before he rolled her eyes at that welcoming.
“Sorry to burst the bubble but this ain’t no Rudolph. No, everyone here is about to get a taste of Lightning! Sha-boom!” Lightning said with bravado.
“Right, right you did insist on calling yourself that. Just go stand over by the dock for now.” Kristal said, a moment after pinching the bridge of her nose which Lightning seemed to disregard.
“Sure thing, small fry here can hold Lightning’s bag for now. Sha-zoom!” Lighting said, chucking his bag without warning as it slammed into the intern and Oliver landed with a groan.
Lightning made his way over to the four who all seemed perplexed as much as anything.
“I’m gonna guess off the jacket you are an athlete?” Sammy asked, being the cheer girl felt a natural-ish topic opener.
“Never did much sports myself, unless puzzles count…do they?” Hunter asked as Lightning scoffed.
“Not in your life, pasty. But don’t worry, Lightning here is more than enough of a Sha-athlete to make up for all of us.” Lightning boasted.
“He’s…he’s gonna do that “Sha” thing on the regular, isn’t he?” Gwen asked Bowie with annoyance in her tone.
“Million dollar body, ten cent mind.” Bowie mused with a roll of his eyes.
Once more that same luxury boat had arrived back to the dock only to drop off the next contestant and sail back to the sea. A twenty six year old woman. Blue eyes. Short brown hair. A black waist length jacket. a darkish tan green color dress with some blue mixed into the dress. Black pants, and matching sneakers to her dress as she smiled happily.
"Our next camper is a big, big star! Ivy Berki Everyone!" Kristal announced.
"Hello everyone!~" Ivy sang out happily, waving as she walked forward, even blowing kisses to the air.
"Hmmmm. this one on the vanity scale is the same as the jock, she just seems to have a brain." Bowie mumbled.
"We're being filmed right now right?" Ivy asked Krsital who smiled.
"Live and sent to our film tent. Yep!" Kristal said.
"Oh how exciting! I can't wait for my performance to shine!~" Ivy sang again as Kristal nodded.
'Yes. Yes. All nice. Schedule to keep, over to the other campers."
"Sure thing!"
"Ivy Berki! OMG! I've seen her movies!" Sammy clapped excitedly.
"What movies was she in?" Hunter whispered.
"Fasion P.I"
"That was alright." Gwen grumbled.
"There was also "The Spy In The Eyehole."
"That's a thing?" Bowie blinked.
"Yeah! Uh...... "The Liar Next Door is a movie my dad laughed." Sammy laughed.
"Hey. My mom loves that one." Hunter said.
"You also forgot I was on Broadway!~" Ivy said as she stood by Sammy who blushed, laughing nervously.
"You were on Broadway? Impressive...... wait. I know your parents. Ralph Berki is a huge film maker." Bowie snapped his fingers as Ivy nodded.
"He is. But I made a name for myself!" Ivy grinned.
"Oh now I remember the Spy in the eyehole." Hunter laughed before a horn went off. Surprising the few campers there.
Soon enough that familiar luxury boat came back to the dock and just as quickly dropped off the next competitor before sailing away. A twenty eight year old man was dropped off, one with fair skin, short blonde hair and a similarly blonde goatee. He was wearing this stylish pink shirt underneath a light blue cashmere jacket and a matching pair of pants as he seemed dressed with this high class style as it were.
With his suitcase in hand, he walked along the dock as Kristal smiled to greet the newest arrival.
“And welcoming our latest camper, Mr. High Class himself Nicholas Milton!” Kristal announced as Nick had a casual smile as he met the host.
“Cheers miss. Also, you can just call me Nick. I have to say also that, I feel like this is a big rib given this place ain’t nothing like you advertised.” Nick said as he glanced around and seemed less than pleased.
“Hey, part of the charm of this show. Expect the unexpected, feel free to meet your fellow cast mates at the end of the dock.” Kristal explained, as a “bloody hell” muttered under his breath but made his way to the cast.
“For what it is worth, I sort of agree with you. This place could use a major style makeover if you ask me.” Ivy mused a bit which Nick seemed to appreciate before Lightning cut in.
“Yeah, what this place needs is a stadium, that would be Sha-mazing!” Lightning said as Nick tried to pay that comment no mind focusing on Ivy.
“Least someone here has good taste. Does anyone here mind holding my suitcase? I’ll pay you whatever.” Nick asked with a lazy shrug.
“Isn’t that bribery?” Sammy asked with an eyebrow raised.
“Hush child. Lightning is speaking. How much are we talking here Sha-winie?” Lightning asked as Nick seemed annoyed at that title while Sammy gave a confused deadpan to the camera.
"Piss off you creepy doll and leave me alone!"
Everyone's heads shot up suddenly upon hearing this as the fancy boat pulled up again, as a tall, 22 year old Korean man jumped off the boat onto the dock, glaring back at the boat. He had on a tank top and shorts, both had flames on said clothing, with yellow and orange sneakers. His tank top ended at his midriff, showing his arcs as he glared at everyone.
"Uh...... everyone meet Yul Kim! A famous K-pop dancer...... what was that about?" Kristal asked as Yul glared more at her.
"Your creepy boat driver's stupid puppet is the issue!" Yul snapped as he looked around.
"What the fuck is this? My manager said this was a resort, not a shithole." Yul glared as Kristal dryly looked at him.
"Are you gonna be behaving like this the whole time?" Kirstal asked.
"My manager's gonna hear it when I'm done with her bitch ass." Yul snarled.
"This is TV-PG. Keep swearing and you won't like what happens." Kristal glared as Yul rolled his eyes.
"Whatever." He stomped over as he looked at everyone else.
"Ugh. Seven nobodies." Yul crossed his arms.
"The Lightning isn't a nobody!" Lighting snapped.
"The Milton's are famous people you bloody wanker." Nick scowled.
"Wow. He's really trying for the role of resident asshole." Ivy mumbled to Sammy who stifled a giggle at this.
"I legit never heard of the Mil-whatever you said, and you're one of those jocks? I'd be surprised if you last long with that attitude." Yul said as Nick crossed his arms while Lighting glared daggers at Yul.
"Was this my dad too Oliver?!" Kristal hissed quietly as he sheepishly nodded.
"He said a famous dancer would add ratings."
"Of course he said that." Kristal sighed.
The luxury ride had landed by the dock once more, as again it dropped off the latest contestant before it sped along the waters. This time it produced a 25 year old man; one with black hair on top of a visible tall forehead and wearing a green long-sleeve shirt that had this distinct black hand print symbol on the chest. He seemed to have a backpack and carried a guitar case with him as he seemed to have a casual smile on his face as he walked up to the host.
“And welcome our 9th lucky camper, Trent Winters!” Kristal announced with a smile. This caused Trent to flinch a moment hearing that but he tried to wrestle it down face to face with the host.
“Hey it’s good to meet you.” Trent said with a smile, but as he scanned around him he seemed a touch confused about things.
“So, this is it?” Trent asked not sure if he saw things correctly.
“Correct, welcome to Camp Wawanakwa~!” Kristal said with some pride which Trent seemed a bit worried by, not helped by the looks of his peers at the end of the dock whose emotions ranged from sympathy to indifference.
“Alrighty then…” Trent said, resigned to his fate as he walked by the edge of the dock by the others, as Ivy seemed to take the chance to speak to him.
“If it means anything, I think we all got blindsided with this bait and switch reality show trap. Guess that is why people say you can’t trust what you see on TV.” Ivy mused a bit as Trent seemed to smile at the woman’s charming quip.
“Well, can’t be too bad I suppose. At least the company is pretty sweet.” Trent admitted, as Ivy seemed to chuckle a bit as she had this weird sensation in her chest that she tried not to dwell on from that.
“As if, have you seen this sorry lot on this dock? Probably isn’t a shock I was reached to be part of this to give some star quality to all this.” Yul complained, as Trent seemed to frown a bit before he leaned closer to Ivy.
“Well, most of the company is pretty sweet.” Trent whispered as Ivy hid a snicker and whistled innocently when Yul cast a suspicious glare at the pair.
As the fancy boat stopped again, out came a dark skinned, twenty two year old Polish girl. She had long brown hair, tied into a ponytail with a big red bow where it was tied. Blue knee length pants, with black and white sneakers on. The big detail was the overgrown red sweater she had on, but she looked giddy, literally bouncing with excitement as she held her eco-friendly bag close, strap on her shoulder.
"Everyone, meet Gabby Nowak, player number ten!" Kristal grinned as Gabby looked right at the camera.
"Hi Dad! I'm on tv!" Gabby happily waved like a mad woman as she looked around.
"I..... thought we'd get to be with nature here." Gabby said after a few seconds.
"Oh you will, plenty of animals in the forest for you to get your hands on...... and some you don't want to." Kristal noted as Gabby clapped.
"Hooray!" She said, skipping over to the others.
"Wait a minute.... I've seen you on social media before. You fought some people who wanted to destroy the environment to build a crappy super store." Gwen said as Gabby nodded.
"They wanted to harm the homes of the animals! It was worth the fine I got, I won in the end by them not being able to do it!" Gabby smirked as Gwen showed a small smile.
"Respect. Fight the system." She nodded.
Upon hearing a scoff, everyone looked at Yul, who looked at her like she was gum on the sidewalk.
"What?" Gabby asked, confused at his behavior towards her.
"It's great. We have a tree hugger." Yul scowled as Gabby got right in his face.
"I'd suggest you shut your mouth, if you show no respect for what happens to nature, some might not have respect for what I might do to you!" Gabby yelled as everyone looked at her in surprise at her blurting this out.
"She's sha-crazy." Lightning gently mumbled.
That stylish boot soon returned to drop off the latest contestant, this time it was a twenty three year old woman who seemed visibly Japanese mixed with long black hair with a pair of stylish shades covering otherwise dark eyes. She is wearing a burgundy red halter top with a pair of darker red arm sleeves and a pair of brown short shorts and a pair of red & black heels. This woman removed her shades and seemed to have an annoyed look as she scanned her surroundings.
“Now then, please welcome Heather Rhodes!” Kristal announced as Heather with bag in toe seemed to walk over to the host with a glare directed her way.
“This better be some sick joke, you cannot expect me to stay at this dump.” Heather said, a bit irritated to be kind.
“Unfortunately this “dump” is your home for the next 8 weeks so, I’d learn to love it if I were you.” Kristal said, and before Heather could object Oliver passed Kristal Heather’s contract as she seemed to flaunt this detail over as Heather sighed and made her way to the end of the dock.
“This is so stupid.” Heather muttered, moved by Gwen among the fellow campers.
“Hey there, if it means anything I…” Sammy had begun to say; attempting to try to ease her mood only for a harsh glare from Heather to shut her up.
“Not in the mood blondie.” Heather said as Sammy frowned a bit.
“Quite the charming personality the rest of us are stuck with it seems.” Gwen said with some sass as Heather cast a glare at the goth’s direction.
“Okay Wednesday don’t pretend like you are anymore excited with this bait and switch.” Heather snapped back.
“Maybe not, but I say you are better off learning to live with it, and not be such a bitch over it.” Gwen mused as Bowie had a snicker and Heather looked stunned at the audacity.
As the fancy boat came around again, a voice being heard made everyone pause.
"Uh.... you sure that puppet isn't real. I swear it was side-eyeing me."
"Yes. It's just my doll son. Come on, we're on a schedule." A gruff voice said.
Everyone looked over at the boat in confusion as someone came out of it onto the dock.
A twenty two year old male stumbled out of the boat. He had on a red t-shirt with multiple colors of red on it and a bird on the front, and a long sleeve black and white shirt under that. Black pants, and black and white sneakers. His biggest feature was his hair was half blonde, half black colored as he nervously held his bag in his hand.
"Everyone! Meet Aiden Brooks!" Krisatl said as his green eyes went wide.
"I thought I was gonna be on a reality show..... it said uh..... the daughter of Chris Ma-" Aiden started as Kristal walked up to him, holding a smile behind anger.
"YES! That's me. Kristal Maclane. The host of Disventerous Drama Island, the show you signed up for!" She said, as Aiden shrunk back slightly.
"Right..... sorry." He said as Kirstal sighed.
"Sorry..... Not a big fan of people comparing me to...... HIM. Welcome to the show!" Kristal grinned as Aiden looked around.
"We're playing here? It's a disgusting run down summer camp." Aiden raised a brow.
"Exactly." Kristla grinned as Aiden rolled his eyes.
"Figures." Aiden said as he walked over to the others.
"Is your hair actually that color?" Bowie chuckled.
"O.... of course." Aiden stammered, laughing slightly.
"Mm-hm." Bowie smirked.
"So you saw that figure skating show her dad was on?" Sammy smiled.
"Yeah...... still can't believe those two in the pink almost got gold.... until the guy dropped his partner on her face." Aiden said.
"Oh! I saw that. It looked like it hurt." Trent chuckled.
"My mom watched that..... she didn't really like them." Hunter said.
"They were a bit much. That girl.... gave me uneasy vibes." Aiden shivered.
Soon enough by this point the expected return of the fancy boat dropped off the next competitor. This time it was a twenty one year old woman with fair skin and long blonde hair who stepped onto the dock. She had a white short-sleeve top cut above her belly button with a stylish necklace and a pair of jean shorts over two long white leggings as she seemed to stop a moment to pray before wheeling her bag over by Kristal as the host seemed to flash a grin at the latest arrival.
“And we are pleased to welcome our next camper, Julia Runnels! Welcome to Dis…!?” Kristal had begun to introduce only for Julia to suddenly appear by her side with an arm around her shoulder and striking a selfie pose.
“I am flattered and all but just need you to….there we go~” Julia said, as, snap, a selfie was taken of herself and Kristal as she seemed to move from the host and post something on her phone.
#Growing. #Myjourneybegins.
Julia seemed pretty proud of her post, only for Kristal’s hand to reach to snatch her phone much to Julia’s horror.
“Wha…hey!” Julia cried out in protest.
“I’m gonna assume you don’t have a short memory, but just to refresh it all the same it was stated in these handy contracts that there will be a zero phone policy on this island.” Kristal explained as Julia seemed alarmed.
“Wait, there actually was like important stuff in that pile of papers? But, I came here to grow as an individual. How can I grow if I can’t show my followers my progress?" Julia asked as Kristal rolled her eyes.
“Sounds like a you problem. Now, just be kind and deposit all your phones into this box provided by our intern.” Kristal explained, as Oliver held a box where the first phone was placed as Julia reluctantly seemed to put two more phones there as she held her hands up.
“That’s all of them.” Julia assured, but Kristal seemed to glare at her as Julia blinked before sighing as she dropped off another 3 phones inside.
“Stay safe babies, I'll be back soon!” Julia said, blowing them a kiss as she walked by the dock to her fellow campers.
“No offense girl, but sounds like you needed a break from social media anyway.” Bowie said inspecting his nails as Julia simply smiled a bit in response.
“I am not one to let the negative emotions of others drag me down, even if Mother Earth pities your envy~.” Julia mused as Bowie rolled his eyes.
At the fancy boat's horn being sounded it pulled up as everyone turned their heads to look as the ramp came down for Camper number Fourteen.
Off from the boat walked a slightly short, twenty one year old Indian man. He had neatly styled hair. A white long sleeve T-shirt, with an orange and yellow shirt vest over it. Brown colored shorts and sneakers that were orange, yellow and blue color as he looked around unimpressed.
"Everyone! Meet Noah Dhesi" Kristal grinned as Noah boredly looked at her.
"We're staying here for eight weeks?" Noah dryly asked a resting bitch face on his face!
"Yep! Camp Wawanakwa!" Kristal grinned.
"You got my memo about my life-threatening allergies?" Noah asked.
"Oliver?" Kristal asked as Oliver ran over with a scroll of paper. "Yep!"
"Great...." He paused as he looked over everyone, rolling his eyes quickly. "And these are who I'm playing with?" Noah asked.
"Did anyone read the contracts?!" Kristal asked.
"Didn't say anything about how this was gonna go." Noah said, walking back Kristal, his backpack draped over his shoulder.
"Great. We have a Noait-all." Gwen scoffed, crossing her arms.
"Hmm.... The vibes with this one aren't the most positive..... must be the Gothic mood." Julia said as Gwen glared at her.
"Great..... and how does this work?"
"Sha-please! No need to know how this works, you'll be left behind by the Sha-Lightning before the end of today!" Lighting boasted as he did a pose as Noah walked by him.
"Riviting." He said as he glanced at Heather who glared at him.
"What are you looking at?"
"Woah there Dragon. Watch the fire." Noah rolled his eyes as Heather gasped at this, hearing some snickers from some people, but stopped as she spun around, glaring at them.
"You’ll.... pay for that." Heather mumbled as Noah boredly rolled his eyes.
"I'll be waiting for that."
The luxury ride soon came back to the dock to drop off the latest camper before once more sailing for the high seas. This time it was a twenty-one year old woman with brown skin and visibly purple hair wearing a green, sleeveless top along with a pair of long blue pants. She had this shimmering Libra necklace as well as golden bracelets and some colorful shoes as she had a bag in hand and smiled walking to the host.
“Ladies, gentlemen and everyone lovely in-between also watching, welcome our fifteenth contender, Rosa Maria Rivera~!” Krisal said on Rosa’s introduction.
“Hola! The pleasure is mine Kristal and this…this is not what I saw on the application.” Rosa had begun to say as she quickly realized this was not the resort that was promised.
“All the same this is Camp Wawanakwa so just take this as one of many surprises you must prepare for." Kristal said proud of herself while Rosa had an annoyed frown in response.
“Una jugada bastante sucia. But, provided the million is still on the line I can make this work.” Rosa admitted with resolve as she walked over to the dock as Julia took note of that necklace with interest.
“OMG are you a Libra? That is quite the lovely display~” Julia said with a smile as Rosa seemed touched about the topic.
“Libra, with a Leo rising, thank you very much. What about you?” Rosa asked.
“I carry the bold spirit of an Aries.” Julia said with pride though a groan was heard to interrupt the convo.
“Oh god, don’t tell me I am stuck with two hippies who believe in this crap.” Yul said, in disgust much to Rosa’s shock and Julia’s annoyance.
“You must be so fun at parties.” Noah said with a casual deadpan as Yul gave him a side eye.
“Listen, what I believe in and who I share it with is my business, if you don’t have anything nice to say I suggest you just keep it shut!” Rosa snapped, catching Yul off guard.
The fancy boat's horn sounded as everyone turned to look at who came off next. A twenty three year old British woman walked off. Her brown hair was tied into a ponytail, wearing a yellow dress with yellowish brown pumps. She also had pink leggings as she walked with swagger, pulling off her glasses as she looked at everyone. Raising a brow as she looked over everyone.
"Ladies and Gentleman. Meet Gretchen Clark!" Kristal announced.
"Where's the resort?"
"Everyone asks this." Kristal sighed.
"If we're legally playing here, that means the contract mentioned that. Doesn't matter. I'll still win." Grett smirked as Kristal laughed gently.
"Oh? Someone else determined to win. How fun. We'll get started shortly. Wait with the rest." Kristal said as Grett nodded, walking over to the others, examining her composition as she walked over.
"O. M. G. Your THE Gretchen Clark? I heard you won beauty pageants!" Ivy bounced excitedly as Grett looked at her nails.
"Glad someone's heard all about me." Grett smirked.
"Didn't you win one where all the others got poisoned?" Aiden asked.
"Sadly.... It was tragic." Grett smirked as she walked over. Aiden and Ivy looked at her in surprise at how she didn't sound sorry!
She saw Trent look at her in surprise, and Yul scoffed quietly, but at Rosa's glare kept his mouth shut.
Sammy and Hunter..... were babbling quietly about something while Heather and Gwen looked at Julia in annoyance.
This was her competition?
"You watch them?" Ivy asked.
"My mom was a fan when I was a kid." Aiden laughed as Bowie raised a brow at Grett.
"I think we're gonna get along great." Bowie smirked as Grett looked at him.
"We both love to win." Bowie shrugged as Grett chuckled.
"I like the energy." Grett said as Bowie nodded.
Kristal seemed to smile, eyeing the luxury boat returning to the dock to drop off the next contestant, but some voices seemed to give the host pause on her introduction.
“Now fellas I should remind you that he is not part of the cast.” An older voice spoke.
“Oh I know, just give me a minute to say goodbye to my buddy.” Another voice spoke up.
Stepping onto the dock were two figures, each of them wearing identical red and black hockey jerseys with shorts though one seemed to be a man with visibly darker skin and short dark brown hair while the other fair skinned with blonde hair.
“And we welcome contestant number 17, Raj Tremblay…and as I stressed to you both at the casting greet, just Raj. Wayne, you are not in this cast.” Kristal said with an annoyed tone.
“S-sorry I’ll be gone quick, I just had to wish Raj all the luck and wanted to see him off.” Wayne explained, as Kristal rolled her eyes as Wayne passed Raj his bag as the latter seemed to get emotional.
“G-gonna be tough to do this without you Wayne. First time we haven’t had each other's backs in ages.” Raj admitted, as Wayne put a hand to his shoulder, his eyes also threatening to tear up.
“I know, this will be tough but you got this buddy! It’s your time to shine, and nobody is more deserving or who I would trust more to get the win. This is your time to shine, so go out there and win it for yourself and the Snow Owls!” Wayne said as the two seemed to share a hug as Raj pounded his chest.
“Owls 4 life!” Raj called out as they shared a chest bump before both men seemed to feel their spirit rise.
“Hoot! Hoot!” Both men cried out to the bewilderment of most, Kristal included, as Wayne left on the boat as it drove away and he made his way to the dock with Kristal a bit too bewildered to even do a brief chat with him.
“Tears on day 1? Gonna be a long game for you if you ain’t careful.” Bowie said with a slight smirk.
“Aw these tears are just a way to get in the zone. Trust me, I have the drive to win, and judging by my first impression you seem to have it too.” Raj admitted, as Bowi seemed surprised but had a smile at this.
Upon hearing the fancy boat again, the attention was drawn to this one, since it took a moment for someone to get off.
A twenty year old pale icelander girl with long blonde hair boarded the dock, also carrying an eco friendly bag with her. She had on green leggings and a purple skirt. A blue sweater with the wrists being a lighter blue. Her green eyes scanned around calmly as she took even everything around her as she walked up to Kristal, everyone squinting at her hands being together like she was praying gently to them.
"Everyone. Meet Dawn Lovegreen!" Kristal announced as Dawn looked towards the forest, before looking at Kristal.
"There are animals here right?" She asked.
"Uh.... yeah. It's a natural forest, tons of animals you'd find in nature." Kristal chuckled.
"That's wonderful. Getting to bond with mother nature's creations in their natural habitat is the perfect way to grow spiritually." Dawn smiled as Kristal blinked, motioning for Oliver as he handed her a slip of paper as she looked over it.
"Okay.... I see it down.... that makes sense. Just be careful not to ruin habitats.... we could get sued." Krsital said as Dawn smiled.
"I would never." Dawn said, walking over towards everyone pausing as she looked at everyone.
"I see a lot of Auras here..... it's amazing how many colors there are." Dawn said as Gabby clapped.
"Ooh! I love your bag! It's from the same company I got mine from!"
"They're mother nature's helpers." Dawn brightly smiled.
"Ugh. Great, the tree hugger has a best friend that's just as insane as her." Yul said, making Dawn gasp.
"I..... never met anyone with a black aura....... that's pure evil!" Dawn said as everyone stared blankly at her, mouths open as Dawn was quick to get as far away from Yul as possible.
"W....whatever." He rolled his eyes.
Before long that familiar fancy boat returned to the dock, and once again a new soon to be camper made their arrival. A twenty-one year old woman who seemed to at least be visibly Vietnamese descent wearing a blue beanie and with long black hair. She had a green jacket over a red & yellow top along with a pair of blue pants and a pair of black, fingerless gloves.
“And introducing our nineteenth contender, Mary Kate Nguyen!” Kristal introduced as with a bag over her shoulder the girl walked over with a casual look to her.
“You can just keep it short with MK, quite excited to be part of this. Gotta admit the resort scam already has me impressed with your style~.” MK said with a sly grin.
“Oh, scam is such a nasty word for it, I prefer the term a welcoming surprise. But glad you seem to appreciate that, seem to not be bothered by this?” Kristal asked as MK seemed to shrug a bit.
“Eh, as long as the money is real that is all I care about. I’ll find a way to make it work.” MK admitted as the host seemed to nod.
“Like the spirit, make your way to the end of the dock where your peers are waiting.” Kristal explained, as MK nodded her bag brushing past Kristal as she walked over to the other competitors.
“Aw man this is so sha-lame! Got another nerd among this group.” Lightning complained as MK rolled her eyes.
“Not like I enjoy sharing the stage with Mr. Beef for Brains so consider the feeling mutual.” MK said as Lightning seemed to gasp at this audacity.
“I like this one.” Noah admitted with a smile.
“I personally believe we should try to raise positive spirits and not try to tear each other down here.” Julia said as MK glanced over to the self-help influencer with an eyebrow raised.
“What gonna call the fun police day 1? Might be in for a rude awakening with a show like this with that attitude. Although I wonder if…nah, forget I said anything.” MK mused, as Julia now raised an eyebrow at whatever her point would’ve been.
As the fancy boat came back around again., the twentieth player arrived.
"Everyone meet Topher Ryan!" Kristal said as Topher jumped off the boat.
As she said this, Topher, a twenty one year old Canadian man with styled light brown hair and blue eyes looked around excited. He had on a bluish green shirt with a white collar and a tanish white mixed in. He had on tan pants, and greenish and tan colored shoes...... he was dressing similar to Kristal's father.........
"Hey Ch....... who are you?" Topher asked, looking upset as Kristal looked confused.
"Kristal Mclane. The host. Of the show?" Kristal asked, confused as Topher looked more upset.
"I thought it was gonna be Chris Mclane." He pouted, missing how Kristal's eye twitched.
"I'm his daughter...... and the studio wanted me. Not him to host. Got it!" She said, anger laced with venom in her voice but hidden well.
"The whole reason I signed up for this show was to meet him."
"You want to meet him? Oh I can tell you where you can meet my dad! You can-" Kriistal walked towards Topher in anger before Oliver got between them.
"Okay! Topher! You can go over to where everyone else is! We're getting started shortly!" Oliver said as Topher quickly nodded before walking over as Kristal glared daggers at him.
As he walked over to the others he saw some confused expressions as Noah smirked.
"Well Pretty boy, you're already the most hated here to the host." Noah snarked as Topher frowned.
"You don't know how big Chris really is, I thought this was his next big thing!" Topher crossed his arms.
"Right. Because you totally read the contract fifty times and it said Chris was hosting." MK rolled her eyes.
"How many more are there?" Sammy asked suddenly.
"Twenty Two." Topher grinned proudly.
"Brown noser." Gwett gently scoffed.
The luxury boat once more arrived at the dock and dropped off the latest contestant as it drove back out to the sea. This time it seemed to be a visibly older man who wore a colorful, Pride themed coach’s outfit complete with a jacket, sweats and a cap as he had a bag in hand and seemed to try to shake some sea sickness off as he settled and Kristal smiled at the new arrival.
“And our twenty-first competitor, Richard Miller!” Kristal announced, as the oldest of the pack seemed to tip his hat to her.
“Pleasure to be here, miss! Though I will admit the ride was a little more turbulent than I expected. I…oh, this doesn’t seem to match the images on the ads.” Richard said, realizing like many the bait and switch as Kristal rolled her eyes.
“Yeah yeah yeah" “this isn’t a resort”, “is this some prank” I heard it all a million times today. Not in the mood for more whining about this. Welcome to Camp Wawanakwa.” Kristal declared, as Richard seemed to raise an eyebrow.
“I mean, I am fine with a camping trip. Honestly, my husband and I have been dying to take our daughter out camping. Figured it’d be a good experience to get her used to the outdoors and…” Richard began to explain before some fake snoring was heard as Kristal yawned at the older man.
“Oh sorry, that story was making me sleepy. We’re not here for your life stories, we have a show to run so kindly make your way to the end of the dock with the other campers.” Kristal explained as Richard frowned a little annoyed but shrugged it off walking over to the others.
“Oh wow! Richard Miller is here! You are like a Canadian Basketball legend!” Raj said, a bit of a sports fanboy it seems as Ricahrd seemed to brush him off a bit.
“Oh son no need to fluff me up here, just happy to play and coach to help our teams however I could. I ain’t nothing too special.” Richard dismissed.
“Hum, maybe, but I did hear you had some moves back in your day. Of course, those highlights were quite a bit ago.” Bowie said with a playful grin as Richard seemed to actually grin back.
“Hey, I might not be as much of a spring chicken, but I can handle myself just fine son. Maybe you’ll get to see it.” Richard said as Bowie seemed bemused by this.
Upon hearing the fancy boat come around one last time, Kristal grinned at the camera, not even looking as she was glad this was finally over!
"And last but not least! Ladies and gentlemen, contestants twenty two! Fiorella Ricci!" Kristal said, looking at the others to see....... shocked expressions?
"Uh..... Could you call me Fiore?" A sickly sweet, high pitched voice was heard as Kristal's head shot towards the boat.
An Eight year old was walking towards her, long brown hair with a heart headband. A yellow shirt with a white collar, overalls that went down to her socks, and yellow sneakers, her eyes were shining brightly as she gave an adorable smile.
"I'm so excited to be here....... I thought my dad said it was a resort..... but this is fun too! I never got to go to summer camp." Fiore smiled.
"I..... You........" Kristal stuttered as Fore tilted her head.
"Uh.... FIore, go over to the others, we'll be with everyone momentarily." Oliver laughed nervously as Fiore shrugged.
As she took her backpack off her back, Yul gave a disgusted sound at seeing it.
It was a plain yellow and white backpack with a white star on top..... but he was directed at her stickers. A Jax sticker. One for skibidi toilet, and a banban sticker.
"Oh hush!" Rosa snapped as everyone else was still trying to process Fiore being Eight!..... except Lighting, who kisses his bicep again.
"So.... you never went to camp?" Rosa asked.
"Yeah!" Hope I don't ruin it for everyone." Fiore looked down.
"You'll be fine....... we all get nervous." Ivy laughed gently.
Fiore seemed to light up more at this, before everyone turned over to where Kirstal and Oliver were waiting.
"Before we go on..... We need a group photo for the promos." Kristal grinned.
"You got to be kidding me?" Gwen scowled.
"Nope! Everyone on the end of the dock!" Kristal grinned as everyone started walking over getting into poses together.
In the top row of the photo was Ivy with one hand behind her head and her free hand raised making a stylish pose with even a wink to the camera. Next to her was Richard who seemed to hoist Fiore up on his shoulders and flashed a peace sign to the camera, while the younger girl seemed to have an excited smile and a precious look about her. Next to them was Lightning, who seemed to flex a bit for the camera as he was all smiles.
In the middle row towards one end of the dock was Heather, leaning against a pole with one hand to the hip as she had a pleased smirk facing the camera. Gwen next to her paid it little mind, just giving a deadpan look as she was so thrilled to be here. Next to her was Noah, who seemed to have a casual smile and arms folded over his chest. Next to him was Raj, who seemed pumped and with his fist raised as Rosa bemused next to him also raised her all fired up while Bowie had hands in his pockets; amused, but smirking to the camera. Trent seemed to have a casual smile, as Grett next to him smirked and eyed the camera while “inspecting” her nails as Gabby next to them seemed to have both arms raised and with a wide smile. Nick seemed to give a double thumbs up as he flashed his mug.
In the last row, lowest to the dock, was Yul who seemed to lay with his back to a poll on the other end of this stretch of dock with a manic smirk on his face. Next to him, Sammy and Topher each sat on their knees facing the camera; Topher with a cool grin, and Sammy a more polite one. Next to them was Dawn, in full meditation mode with legs crossed before the camera, while Aiden seemed to opt for sitting on one knee as Hunter tried to sort of mirror him with an awkward smile. At the other end was Julia sort of laying on her side with a smile as MK was on her knees next to her with hands in her jacket pockets.
"Okay, one, two, three..." As she pressed the button, she laughed. "Oops! Sorry. My thumb was blocking it."
She missed some of the campers scowling at her.
"Okay. Now hold that pose...... One, two--oh, no, wait. Card's full..... I told you this would happen." Kristal looked at Oliver.
"Sorry."
"Okay.... Hang on." Krsital smirked, she was fucking with them!
"Come on lady! Us gorgeous people can't stay frozen forever!" Yul snapped.
"If you're that, then I should already win a million." MK rolled her eyes.
"You know what you-" Yul started.
"NO FIGHTING! Okay. I got it. Everyone say, "wawanakwa!" Kristal said.
"Wawanakwa!" They all said as the dock creaked below them before everyone fell into the water as Krsital took the picture.
She laughed at seeing the annoyance a lot of them gave in the photo as she got some shots as they swam up.
"Great...... this outfit isn't meant to get wet. Fabulous." Grett grumbled.
"ooh! THis water is perfect for the skin...... dang it I don't have my phone!" Julia pouted.
"And the world.... Doesn’t care!" Yul smirked before Heather pushed him underwater as she swam by.
"Move it loser!" She snapped as Yul glared at her.
"You okay?" Sammy asked a coughing Fiore, who just nodded.
She couldn't swim..... not that she was saying anything now!
"Okay, guys, dry off and meet at the campfire pit. Oliver brought towels for everyone. So I'll give you ten." Kristal grinned before glancing at Oliver.
"Right!.... I swear to god I'm gonna kill my dad next time I see him...."
"Yeah.... Chris can be in a lot of trouble."
"Did someone say Chris?!"
"SHUT IT TOPHER!..... Alright! We don't have much time, so let's move!"
_____
Ten minutes came and went as the cast seemed to largely dry off and were now sitting by the campfire pit. Several logs had been placed to act as seats, though there seemed to only be 11 of them set up, so campers had to sort of decide who would sit vs. who would stand.
Those seated on logs included: Aiden. Fiore. Gabby. Grett. Gwen. Julia. Lightning. Nick. Raj. Topher, Trent.
Those standing close by included: Bowie. Dawn. Heather. Hunter. Ivy. MK. Noah. Richard. Rosa. Sammy, Yul.
“Why does it not shock me that this cheap show couldn’t even get enough seats for the whole cast.” Yul said with a bit of bitterness.
“Can you keep those negative comments internalized, the black energy just throws off the vibes.” Julia said as Yul rolled his eyes.
“Oh so you sense his dark aura as well?” Dawn asked with a head tilt, sitting in a meditation position on the ground.
“Just gotta make whatever they throw at us work, but hey, if anyone does need to rest their legs I am all for a swap.” Trent said, his comment directed at everyone but his focus happened to be on Ivy as the woman seemed flattered.
“Glad to know we have some gentlemen in this cast, but speaking for myself I think I can handle standing around a bit. But sure we appreciate the kind offer~” Ivy said with a smile to Trent who returned it in kind.
Soon enough, Kristal arrived and greeted the campers as she seemed to have a more lively spirit despite the dock collapse.
“Welcome campers to your home for the foreseeable future. Camp Wawanakw. In fact, from today and for the next eight weeks, those seated or standing around you will be your cabin mates. Your competition, rivals, foils, friends and who knows, maybe for some of you something more if the stars align.” Kristal explained, with many glancing around them a bit as if trying to get a read on each other. Well, most of them were, Lightning seemed more invested in checking his bicep at the moment than anything else.
“You will be asked to endure the outdoors here, survive challenges that will test mind and body alike, and compete to outlast everyone here until only one of you is left standing. And to the winner not only gets bragging rights, but also the one-hundred thousand dollar grand prize.” Kristal explained, and that figure was enough to get the attention of most.
“One-hundred thousand, not even sure what I’d do with that much cash.” Sammy admitted sheepishly.
“Eh, not that much money. But the experience can’t hurt.” Nick said with a shrug.
“Sorry if not all of us are made of cash, this is a bigger deal for some of us.” Rosa muttered as Nick seemed to avoid contact with the Latina off her tone.
“At this moment I will take any questions you might have.” Kristal explained, as Topher raised his hand.
“I will not be answering any questions about my father.” Kristal corrected with a slight bitterness as Topher lowered his hand and seemed annoyed, but opted not to push that button.
“Suppose far as the juicy stuff goes, how are sleeping arrangements to be handled? Cause no offense but, I typically find guys do not make the greatest roommates.” Bowie said with a shrug.
“Not that I disagree with the prom princess here, but please tell me these are not co-ed cabins.” Heather said dreading the thought as Bowie rolled his eyes.
“Don’t have to worry about that, for each cabin there is a girl’s side and a boy’s side, you are free to visit either but just try to abide by our sleeping guidelines at the least.” Kristal clarified as the cast got that down.
“Oh oh! Can we get cabins within view of the lake? I think that would be so pretty to wake up to each morning!” Gabby said with some visible enthusiasm.
“I am afraid that the cabins are already set up, so each team will have to work in that area.” Kristal added on.
“You say teams, how are those to be decided?” Noah asked curiously.
“Oh! Maybe we get to draft our teams~!” Raj said excitedly.
“Oh dear, I hope I am not picked last.” Fiore said with a nervous chuckle.
“Maybe they’ll decide by random draw?” Hunter asked with a shrug.
“Lightning better not get any Sha-wimps on his team.” Lightning grumbled.
“Alright enough chatter! We already decided the teams before you arrived, so when I call your names. We have two mats behind me, when I call your names you will be directed to one of said mats that will make up your team.” Kristal explained, showing off a green and a red mat respectively.
“Now then those of you step onto the green mat when I call your name. Heather. Nick. Noah. Gwen. Gabby. Aiden. Grett. Julia. Trent. Hunter And MK. From this moment forward, you will be known as the Screaming Gophers!” Kristal called out, as Oliver who had arrived with a pair of flags as he passed a green one with a gopher logo on the center which Aiden seemed to catch as his eyes seemed to widen.
“Oh wow, this is really happening!” Aiden said with his inner fanboy showing as Hunter found that to be a little amusing.
“And for the rest of you, please gather by the red mat. Topher. Richard. Rosa. Bowie. Fiore. Yul. Dawn. Raj. Sammy. Ivy. And Lightning. From now on, you will be known as the Killer Bass!” Kristal announced, as Oliver passed an identical flag to the Gophers; only this one was red in color with a bass logo on the center which Richard caught as he and his team gathered to give it a look.
“I have to admit I didn’t expect you to go the extra mile with the team names and flags, but I think it adds a little charm to things.” Richard admitted with a smile.
“Eh, I felt the names on Chris’ last show were more inspired.” Topher mused, as Kristal shot the young man a death glare and he was quick to shut up.
“Anyway. One thing to keep in mind is to always expect to have eyes watching you. We have cameras set up in pretty much every key location on this island, ready to film you all 24 hours a day to capture any juicy material to make it to each episode’s airing. Though, for legal reasons, we should outline that certain spots such as the communal bathrooms or inside your own cabins will not be filmed for a degree of necessary privacy.” Kristal outlined to the cast.
“And, as a little cherry on top, we have what I like to call the special little confessional areas designed for you to share your innermost thoughts and private feelings with our audience, but keep them out of your peers’ ears.” Kristal said as Gwen seemed to raise an eyebrow at this.
“And you define "special" as?” Gwen asked as Kristal had this knowing little smirk on her face.
Confessional: Gwen
Gwen sat in what seemed to be an old outhouse, one that seemed to reek of smells Gwen did not even want to figure out where they came from and with flies buzzing about the Goth’s head as she seemed to fight the urge to gag while she glanced at the camera head of her and cast a glare to it.
“Yeah….day one here, and I already hate this show.” Gwen said with dry disdain.
Confessional: MK
MK sat in the same old, dirty outhouse as she seemed to hold back some vomit, but as she tried to adjust to things she took note of the camera ahead; almost silently inspecting and seemed to be thinking something.
“Well, this show is already trying to gross us out. Not even on this island for ten minutes, but hey, might not be so bad…~” MK admitted, though seemed vague by what she meant with this.
Confessional: Grett
Grett seemed to be disgusted with this place, feeling something wet on her hand just trying to adjust her spot on the toilet before the camera and stuffing some tissues up her nose to shake off the stank of things.
“Just so…disgusting! The fact this show expects me to air my grievances in a place like this. I have half a mind to..focus, just focus Grett. The money will make this worth it.” Grett tried to remind herself in spite of his misgivings.
_____
“Alright, any further questions?” Kristal asked, with a couple of hands raised but as she glanced at her watch, she seemed to smirk.
“Perfect! We are already running a little behind schedule. Gophers, you will be staying at the east cabin. Bass, you will take the west. Oliver will be generous enough to lead you to the cabins’ destination.” Kristal explained, as Oliver seemed to nod and took position in the front of the two teams.
“I’ll pay your cabins a visit soon enough to outline some more guide rules. Good luck~” Kristal explained as both teams set off on their journey.
_____
Oliver led the 22 campers through the woods till eventually they arrived at a clearing, where two identical sized sets of cabins had already been prepared as the intern turned to the cast.
“Alright we made it! Gophers you’ll take the East cabin, and Bass you’ll settle into the West. Kristal should be here shortly for final reminders once wrapping some other business at her end.” Oliver explained, as members of both teams each headed to their designated cabins.
Heather led the way for the Gophers and opened up inside the Girl’s Cabin of her team, inspecting the cabins and seeing that there were multiple pairs of bunk beds on each side as Heather could not help but roll her eyes.
“Bunk beds? Seriously, I get the title but do we really need to be treated like we are summer kids.” Heather mused, though her complaining right at the doorway prevented anyone else from getting inside. An issue solved when Gwen brushed past Heather to enter much to the former’s annoyance.
“Hey! Watch it Goth…” Heather complained.
“Sorry but not all of us were gonna be so eager to wait for you to get your whining out of your system.” Gwen mused with dry sarcasm setting her bag by one of the beds. Other ladies began to arrive as the tension between the two did not go unnoticed.
“I think we need a little positive aura in this cabin, so maybe a more spiritually pleasing aesthetic can help with that~” Julia smiled, setting a pot with a pretty set of pink flowers as she bent over by the desk between the cabin sides to set it just right.
MK, seated by a lower bunk close to Julia, eyed something in her back pocket and had a sly smirk, reaching for it.
“Oh yeah, my “aura” is already quite pleased~” MK smirked, quickly stuffing something in her jacket pocket as Julia turned with an eyebrow raised as MK played it cool.
“How exciting! This is like one big sleepover, are you girls excited!?” Gabby suddenly called out, hanging upside down from a top cabin spooking both MK & Julia.
“I’ll…be excited to sleep on this side of the cabin.” Grett said, taking a seat on the lower bunk on the opposite side from Gabby. As it seemed the girls naturally settled in their chosen beds as they were as they all adjusted to their new “home” of sorts.
Over by the boys cabin of the Screaming Gophers, Trent led the guys inside having their own identical set of bunk beds and the bare necessities one could call it.
“Bloody hell, to go from a luxury resort to this feels like a slap to the face.” Nick complained, as Trent seemed to shrug.
“Gotta roll with the punches here. Sometimes down to earth isn’t the worst vibe.” Trent argued, as Aiden seemed to admire a more positive voice.
“Yeah, besides, at least these beds seem comfor….agh!” Aiden said, laying down on one of the beds but it suddenly sprung up and squished him like a folding trap as Hunter & Trent quickly worked to straighten out the bed and Aiden’s back.
“Yeah, I think I’ll wait to see which of these beds isn’t a death trap before I pick one.” Noah mused with dry snark though as they got settled, as Hunter seemed to notice something on Nick.
“Uh, Nick right? I think there’s something…” Hunter said with a point as Nick raised an eyebrow.
“What? Got something to say spit it…shit!?” Nick cried out, as a large spider seemed to crawl on his cashmere jacket as he immediately cried in a panic trying to get it off. The noise and panic amid the guys attempt to help caught the girls attention next door as they stepped outside seeing Nick running around in a panic.
“Day 1 and we’ve already lost someone. Has to be some record.” MK mused with a slight grin as the spider fell off on the ground and Nick raised a boot.
“This migning little…!” Nick cursed, but before he could stomp Gabby saw the spider on the ground as she got in a panic.
“NOOO!” Gabby cried out jumping and tackling Nick to the shock of just about everyone.
“Bloody hell what is your problem!?” Nick cried out only for Gabby to ignore him as she scooped up the spider to hold safely.
“There there little one, you are safe with me, let’s find you a nice and quiet area of the forest to call home.” Gabby spoke sweetly, ignoring more than a few confused onlookers at the scene.
Confessional: Noah
Noah sat within the disgusting outhouse as he tried not to pay that mind, focused on the camera as he had that bored look that seemed to be his default expression. Soon enough, he addressed the audience watching.
“Yeah…I don’t see a world where the Bass can be a bigger mess than this team.” Noah bluntly mused, not exactly vibing in the early going with his teammates.
_____
It cut to the Bass’s cabin, showing the guy's side of the cabin first as Bowie dropped his bag on a bunk, glancing to see Richard taking a ball out of his back.
"Oh Sha-yeah! You brought a ball!" Lightning cheered.
"It was a game winning ball from a championship in my youth." Richard chuckled, spinning the ball gently.
"Oh a champion. Intresting." Bowie walked over, most ignoring Yul who seemed just annoyed.
"What team was it?" Raj asked with a smile.
"Oh! The Winnipeg Wombats!" Topher grinned as he hopped off his bead.
"You know sports?" Bowie asked.
"Yeah, my dad is a sports announcer, I know all about sports teams." Topher grinned.
"So a retired basketball player. A hockey player.... and a football player. THis really is the sports All-Stars team." Bowie chuckled.
"The lightning doesn't do just football. The lightning does everything! Sha-WOO!" Lightning cheered.
"How many trophies have you won?!" Raj asked Richard who looked surprised at the question.
"Three. Not a lot, but I'm proud of it, and I'm training the future generation." Richard chuckled.
"I think our team's pretty stacked." Topher tapped his chin.
"We got a forest freak and a gremlin. We're not gonna win anything." Yul said standing up.
"Hey. Just because we have a young one, doesn't mean we should instantly throw her as the weaklink. I tell my husband and daughter that all the time." Richard smiled as everyone glanced at him.
"Intresting." Bowie smiled a little, he wasn't expecting another gay guy here as Raj blushed, surprised at this too as Yul scoffed.
"I don't need life advice from a pile of bones past his prime." Yul said as Lighting got between him and Richard.
"Listen Rule. The Lightning doesn't judge, he agrees with the superstar here. A team needs to keep strong, lose dead weight." Lightning said.
"That's not what I meant." Richard blinked.
"I think a team needs to work together. Like me and Wayne. We're a great team for the Snow Owls!"
"Quiet mop top, this doesn't involve you!" Yul snapped.
"Calm down Yul!" Richard said, an argument growing.
"And that's my cue to leave." Bowie said as he walked out the door, ignoring the argument heating up, missing Raj watching him go.
Walking over to the girls side, he opened the door, seeing another kind of chaos.
"Are you sure you want the top bunk?" Bowie saw Rosa ask the child..... Fiore if he's right as she was taking a few things out of her bag.
A bear..... and a pink journal.
They really casted a kid for this.
Glancing around, he saw Dawn meditating on a bed as Ivy was humming gently as she was organizing her stuff.
He smirked slightly, and sat by Sammy who looked surprised to see this happen as he looked at her.
"So, why are you super hesitant to share anything?" Bowie chuckled as Sammy laughed a little awkwardly at this.
"Well...... usually when I try to.... my sister bursts in so..... guess i'm waiting for her to show up any second."
"We'll on an island that's a summer camp. I think you're good." Bowie said.
"You really think so.... they said she was originally gonna be on!"
"Girl, that host's dad sounds to be unhinged. Just be you. What's the worst that can happen?" Bowie chuckled.
"I can be the first one out." Sammy quickly said before they heard something hit the ground, both turning to see Fiore had jumped off her bed.
"You could have hit your head!" Rosa worriedly said as Fiore gave an innocent smile at her.
"My parents don't mind.... never say anything." She paused for a second before climbing back up to jump again.... to Rosa's horror.
"If you're first boot when she's here, I question what everyone's thinking." Bowie added.
"Well it's gonna be something. Never the pretty one, smart one, athletic one..... and a bunch of other stuff."
"You're away from that, use this chance to show who you are." Bowie said. As Sammy blinked at him, before smiling a little.
"Hey....... why are you on the girls side?" Ivy asked as she sat by Bowie, curious in her question.
"We have not only Lightning but Yul. I could only take so many of them." Bowie said as Ivy laughed gently.
"That's fair. Yul seems.... extreme." Ivy laughed.
"I'm used to people being salty and bitch, I mean winning prom king and queen will do that. But he is all of those people combined." Bowie chuckled as Sammy stared at him.
"You.... did that?" Sammy asked as Bowie nodded.
"Damn. I respect that." Ivy smirked.
"Please teach me how to do that!" Sammy said as Bowie held laughter in.
"What’re friends for?" Bowie smirked, none of them seeing Dawn open her eyes to look at them, smiling gently.
Confessional: Dawn
Dawn sat down, ignoring the disgusting outhouse as she tilted her head, staring at the camera as she was gently thinking about what she was feeling.
“I can feel everyone around the Bass cabin has colored auras…….. But that Yul….. Bowie’s right on him being nothing but trouble….. It felt cold and dark when I looked at him on the dock.
_____
We cut over to the main lodge of the camp, where all 22 campers of both teams were gathered in what seemed to be a cafeteria hall. Noah, Heather, Gwen, Nick, Grett, Trent, Aiden, Hunter, Julia, MK and Gabby of the Screaming Gophers were at the front of the line, while Dawn, Rosa, Fiore, Lightning, Bowie, Raj, Ivy, Sammy, Topher, Richard and Yul of the Killer Bass were in the back of the long line. They had been told this is where they’d get their lunch for the day before the first challenge, but at the moment nobody seemed to be in the kitchen itself to some annoyances.
“Oh fantastic, not only did I end up behind the reject line but whatever cheap cook they got can’t even be bothered to show up on time.” Yul complained, as up ahead Heather couldn’t help but pass an unamused look back.
“God, his whining is insufferable.” Heather complained as Gwen didn’t so much as bat an eye before her retort.
“Yeah, I can’t imagine having to share space with a complainer with attitude.” Gwen mused sarcastically as Heather turned her glare to the Goth.
“I mean hey, look at the bright side. We get our own summer chef here so food should be good.” Hunter said with some attempted optimism.
“I wouldn’t get ahead of yourself, even if it is his daughter calling the shots I know what McLean shows are like. Trust me food is probably not the comfort type here.” Aiden explained to a few raised eyebrows.
“Oh come on, I doubt they’d get him for the McLean kid’s hand me down show.” Topher said to Aiden with a hint of salt as Sammy was even more confused.
“W-what do you guys mean?” Sammy asked the pair, concerned. But a new noise from the kitchen took all the attention.
In what almost sounded like boots marching against the metal floor, a figure emerged from behind the counter that separated the dining hall from the kitchen and made his presence known. A tall, muscular man with visibly dark skin who was wearing a yellow-green shirt with folded short sleeves, dark green pants, black pointed boots, white apron, and white puffy chef hat. More than appearance, he seemed to have this angry demeanor about him that was visible from the jump.
“I’m sorry, I was busy preparing today’s food when I couldn’t help but hear someone I swear give me some lip. Care to come up to the front so I can be sure I hear your complaints clearly?” The man asked, as he “set” a large kitchen knife he seemed to have by slamming it, cutting into the counter table to the alarm of a few faces here. Even Yul took a memo to keep quiet about this.
“Yeah, that’s what I thought. My name is Chef Hatchet. You will refer to me from now on as just Chef or sir with no in-between. I will be the one to provide daily meals for you so you better be grateful. I am only gonna explain this once so listen up: I serve the food three times a day, and you will eat it three times a day! So each of you will grab your trey, get your food and sit your butts down. Are we clear?” Chef asked the cast, and when he got at best a few mumbles and such he seemed to frown in annoyance.
“I repeat: Are we clear!?” Chef asked with his tone raised that raised some hairs here or there.
“Yes Chef!” The cast called out in unison, as they began to gather their treys as Chef nodded, satisfied as he had a large pan with what seemed to be this red slop of sorts that he began to stir. The “meal” itself, if one can call it that, seemed to be some custom burgers with the “meat” being that red colored slop and a side of mashed potatoes along with a cup of water. Needless to say as the campers began to be served their lunch, many was less than impressed.
“Is this you guys pulling at our legs? Is this crud even edible?” Nick questioned as he eyed his trey as Chef’s eyebrow seemed to twitch as he raised a spoon at the British lad.
“Oh trust me, you’ll learn to love what I have cooking for you. Now sit your butt down!” Chef yelled out which was enough to quell this complaint and move the line along. It eventually got to Julia and MK as they were given their splash of slop that neither of the women seemed impressed with.
“Look, life is all about maintaining good health and positive vibes. This meal doesn't help with either…” Julia mused sadly, though attention turned to MK’s patty which seemed to twitch a bit for a moment to mutual concern.
“Okay I am not one to try to make a fuss but I swear this thing just moved.” MK noted, and Chef responded to this complaint as he took out a little wooden hammer and slammed it into her slop patty as bits of meat splashed on the two girls with Chef not even flinching.
“There, problem solved. NEXT!” Chef called out as the pair took their quick leave and it came up to Dawn and Gabby, who had their own conflicted looks at the food much to Chef’s annoyance.
“And what is the complaint now? I do not tolerate holding up the line.” Chef said flatly.
“W-well it is just, I…I can’t! This is meat and I can’t eat this, this was once a beautiful creature of nature and it just is wrong!” Gabby spoke passionately, with Dawn quick to echo the sentiment.
“I am in a similar position, meat is just not something I can in good conscience enjoy as a meal.” Dawn said, with a more quiet rejection as expectations for Chef to lash at the pair were there…only for Chef to sigh as he revealed two prepared treys.
“Kristal did tell me before that at least a couple of you would require vegan friendly meals. Should’ve had this out earlier so take it and sit down!” Chef said, as the two treys seemed to be a salad course with an orange as a side along with cups of water. The girls seemed to light up at this and happily took their treys modest as the offering was.
Both teams all gathered their food and seemed to group up by the two tables, the Screaming Gophers eating together on one, and the Killer Bass likewise on their own table. Not many seemed to actually “enjoy” their meals, sans Dawn and Gabby on their respective teams. Ivy seemed to poke at her food with a fork at the Killer Bass’ table as her face nearly paled at what she saw before she tried to force an awkward smile.
“W-well who knows, maybe a little diet would go a long way for me. Going hungry for eight weeks can’t be that bad right?” Ivy asked around with an eyebrow twitch.
“Girl, you can try all you want but don’t think you can put a positive spin on this dish.” Bowie mused back as Ivy frowned in defeat.
“Oh come on guys, this stuff might not look the best, but I am sure it can’t be that bad to eat.” Richard said, taking a bite of his burger, which seemed to make his eyes widened a moment as he did manage to force a swallow though it was clear this was an acquired taste.
“S-see, looks can be deceiving.” Richard choked out not that it seemed to sway many on the table. Though at least one person seemed to be digging in as it seemed in no time Raj had cleared his trey as he seemed to sigh in content. Much to a few shocked looks.
“Aw, that hit the spot~!” Raj said, a slight burp escaped as he seemed to notice a few eyes on him and he looked more confused than anything. “What?”
Confessional: Raj
Raj seemed to sit in the confessional outhouse, not visibly bothered by the smell or the buzzing flies like some of his peers as he faced the camera.
“Honestly I don’t get all the complaints about the food, I thought it tasted pretty good! Sure it may not look like much but I can practically taste the flavor~!” Raj said with a rather alarming sincerity.
_____
Lightning seemed to see this and had a bit of a shock at how easily Raj was able to wolf this down, but also felt his own pride as he seemed to grab his trey and just swallowed all the slop he could in one go before chugging his cup of water as he shook his head and attempted to put on a proud grin.
“Y-yeah this stuff is nothing for some real athletes, She-boom!” Lightning declared, though not a second later he seemed to fight the impulse to gag. Elsewhere on the Killer Bass table, Rosa seemed to be picking at pieces of her food to try and force in, wasn’t the best thing to eat but for Rosa used to lower quality items she was able to better handle it. Though as she ate, she noticed Fiore seemed a touch hesitant to start her own and seemed to mill this over.
“I know this stuff isn’t the most ideal meal, but you probably should try to eat. Can’t let this show force us into bad habits.” Rosa advised as Fiore seemed surprised at this as she put on an innocent if sheepish little smile.
“O-oh it’s okay! I know that they are nice enough to give us food here, just guess trying to figure out the best place to start.” Fiore chuckled a bit awkwardly as Rosa seemed to think this over before sliding her trey closer to Fiore’s to give the younger girl a view.
“Well, this stuff is a lot to look at, and some of the meat around the edges is…a bit firmer, but there is some softer meat in the middle…” Rosa said, cutting into her patty to show the more “appealing” offerings of the patty slop which Fiore seemed to widen her eyes a bit at.
“Oh hey that is handy~” Fiore smiled, but then she and Rosa got a surprise as a couple of orange slices were passed to their treys by Dawn who had sat in a meditation pose while eating and seemed to smile at the duo.
“Perhaps a little fruit can help a balanced diet.” Dawn offered, as a cute “yippie” sounded which warmed Rosa’s soul as the girls tried to enjoy their meals along with their team. Over by the Screaming Gophers table such enjoyment was not shared by Grett who looked at her trey in disgust.
“This is just, disgraceful! How this show expects its future winner to eat anything here is beyond me…” Grett grumbled.
“Glad to know we just have the most humble people on this team.” Noah mused with his deadpan as Grett cast him a side glare.
“I mean hey, the food isn’t that great but sure there is some protein to get out of this. That’s worth something…” Trent tried to muse, taking a bite of his patty but even as he threatened to gag he managed to beat his chest to force it down as he sighed out. “...s-see, once you get past the first bite or two, it isn’t that bad…” Trent said as Grett raised an eyebrow.
“Riiighhht, quite the sell there.” Grett chuckled as Trent rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly.
“I mean yeah, I won’t pretend this stuff is good, but hey, show ain’t gonna get me to quit over some bad food. And hey, given the drive you seem to have, I sense you won’t give them the satisfaction of letting some lunch get the best of you.” Trent smiled, as Grett was taken aback by that comment, but did seem to find odd motivation as she and the others kept eating.
Confessional: Trent
Trent seemed to sit in the outhouse confessional booth, of course not exactly in love with the smell or the flies as he waved some before his face but tried to focus on the camera with a smile.
“Haven’t gotten to know my team so far that much, but so far I think things are pretty chill here. Sure, gross lunch is whatever but I’ve stuffed down worst before and gotta say the company mostly seems pretty nice here. So take the good with the bad.” Trent said with a shrug.
_____
As it panned across the mess hall, showing all twenty two players eating, Kristal walked in, grinning at the camera.
"Welcome to the main lodge. Where the campers will eat, and sometimes have a challenge here...... but what said challenge is.... always changes. Can be something that's easy or more taxing"
"Yo, host lady. Can we order a pizza or something? I seriously not sure any of us are gonna be eating this-" Nick started to ask, before a cleaver went flying past his head, slamming into the wall by Kristal, who raised a brow at Chef, who was glaring a hole into Nick's head who looked like his soul left his body.
"Joking Chef! It's cool! Red mystery meat is okay! Right, lads?" Nick laughed nervously as he glanced around at everyone who some laughed nervously nodding or giving thumbs up as Chef gently growled, making a watching motion with his hands as he disappeared into the kitchen, Kristal gently chuckling at these events.
"Well with that over with. And seriously, chef spent hours cooking that food. At least show some appreciation. Anyway! Your first challenge begins in one hour. Be ready!" Kristal grinned as she left the mess hall.
"What.... uh.... do you think they'll make us do?" Sammy asked gently.
"Our team will win, because we're sha-awesome!" Lightning cheered as Bowie rolled his eyes.
"Don't worry Sammy. It's our first challenge. How hard can it be?" Richard chuckled.
Right after saying this, it cut to all twenty two campers in their swimsuits on top of a cliff, looking down over a hundred feet down to the lake.
"Oh, Shit."
