Chapter Text
Shen Wenlang was the luckiest bastard in the world.
Looking out from his office at his favorite secretary’s desk, he couldn’t help but admire his beautiful Omega as he tidied up some papers before carefully placing them into a folder.
His Omega. His mate. The father of the child he was carrying.
Even from across the office, Shen Wenlang could faintly sense the comforting note of sage in the air — Gao Tu’s natural scent. It had grown slightly sweeter since the pregnancy began, richer and warmer in a way that made every Alpha instinct in Shen Wenlang purr with satisfaction.
Gao Tu seemed to glow under the LED lights. When people said that pregnant Omegas had a special radiance, they weren’t joking.
Shen Wenlang paused to look at his mate’s body. Beneath those work clothes, only he knew what wonders were hidden.
His inner Alpha growled softly with possessive pride.
The permanent mark at Gao Tu’s neck — hidden beneath the collar of his shirt — carried Shen Wenlang’s scent clearly enough that even the most oblivious Beta in the company knew the Omega was already claimed.
He glanced at the clock: 6 p.m. It was time to go home.
He stood up from his desk, making sure the documents were neatly arranged and ready for the next day. After turning off his computer, he stepped out of his office to join his Omega, who was gathering his belongings into his work bag.
Gao Tu sensed the iris scent of his Alpha even before his mate wrapped his arms around his waist and placed a protective hand on his belly.
“Baobei,” Shen Wenlang whispered, his lips brushing against the permanent mark he had left the night they conceived Lele, four and a half months ago. His scent instinctively deepened, a subtle Alpha pheromone meant to calm and reassure his pregnant mate.
“Let’s go home,” he added, placing a light kiss on his neck.
“President Shen,” Gao Tu said softly, “we’re still in the office,” he continued, stepping away to push his chair neatly under the desk.
Shen Wenlang grumbled. “No one would try to report me to Human Resources,” he said, lightly touching the back of Gao Tu’s hand.
“They might think you play favorites, President Shen,” Gao Tu chuckled, teasing him for the first time that evening.
“Of course I have favorites. Otherwise, how could I explain that you’re pregnant with my child while the rest of the employees aren’t?” he replied rhetorically, leaning closer to kiss him.
But Gao Tu dodged him and headed toward the elevator.
“Remember to be professional, President Shen,” he said with an innocent smile, though the sparkle in his eyes made it clear that the Omega was teasing his Alpha.
Shen Wenlang sighed and followed him.
Even in the elevator, he stayed close behind Gao Tu, instinctively placing a hand at his back — a subtle Alpha gesture meant to steady and guide his mate.
Pregnancy had made Gao Tu slightly more scent-sensitive, and Shen Wenlang had become careful to keep his pheromones calm and soothing whenever they were in public.
When they arrived home, the first thing Gao Tu did was stretch near the entrance… right in front of Shen Wenlang’s attentive, predatory gaze.
The motion tugged his shirt slightly upward, revealing the soft curve of his belly.
Shen Wenlang’s pupils darkened.
His Alpha instincts roared with pride.
“I’m going to take a shower,” Gao Tu said after placing his work bag on the couch.
He briefly turned back to give Shen Wenlang a quick kiss before smiling sweetly and heading upstairs.
The wolf inside Shen Wenlang had been restless all day. Having his mate beside him at work was both a blessing and a torment. His eyes were constantly drawn to the sight of his perfect Omega, while his hands longed to hold him and claim him lovingly.
After a moment of thought, Shen Wenlang decided to follow his bunny into the shower. He told himself it was to save water, conveniently ignoring the fact that he was rich and the bill was the least of his concerns.
Like a lurking predator, he quietly undressed in the bedroom while listening to the sound of running water from the bathroom.
The warm steam carried Gao Tu’s sage scent through the doorway.
It wrapped around Shen Wenlang like an invitation.
He stepped into the bathroom, trying to make as little noise as possible. Unfortunately, his iris scent gave him away immediately.
“I know you’re there, A-Lang,” Gao Tu called playfully from beneath the roar of the water.
Shen Wenlang paused in surprise.
“Come here. My back won’t wash itself,” his mate added from the shower.
Tempter.
Shen Wenlang grinned as he stepped behind the Omega, his lips brushing against his bunny’s skin.
“You smell delicious,” he murmured softly, breathing in the scent of sage.
“Wenlang,” the Omega warned gently, leaning back against his chest.
“All day I had to look at you without being able to touch you or adore you the way you deserve,” the Alpha said quietly. “You’re my favorite torture, baobei.”
His arms wrapped around his mate as he rested his chin on Gao Tu’s shoulder.
“I love every single part of you,” he continued softly, his hand drifting down to rest over the curve of Gao Tu’s belly.
His scent deepened again without him realizing it, instinctively soothing his pregnant Omega.
Their son kicked lightly, as if responding to his Alpha father.
“Knowing that you’re carrying our child fills me with pride,” Shen Wenlang whispered. “You’re so precious, A-Tu. So perfect.”
His voice faded into a quiet breath as he held the love of his life in his arms.
Gao Tu slowly turned within Shen Wenlang’s embrace and looked up at him. Without his glasses, his gaze was clear and sincere.
“I love you, Wenlang,” he whispered.
Shen Wenlang gently brushed their noses together.
“You’re everything to me, Tutu,” he replied softly.
As the warm water continued to run over their bodies, they kissed slowly while the scents of their pheromones mingled in the steam around them.
“Let’s go to bed,” Shen Wenlang said eventually, lifting Gao Tu into his arms.
“Don’t slip,” Gao Tu joked, stroking his hair and leaving a kiss on his forehead.
“I would never put you in danger,” the Alpha replied firmly as he carried him to the bedroom and gently laid him on the bed.
“We’re going to soak the sheets,” Gao Tu complained as his damp back touched the mattress.
Shen Wenlang grinned.
“Oh, I’m sure we will,” he said mischievously.
Gao Tu’s cheeks flushed bright pink. “WEN-lang~!”
What was supposed to sound like a reprimand lost most of its force when Shen Wenlang leaned down and captured one of his nipples.
“You’re impossible,” Gao Tu muttered, though the faint smile tugging at his lips betrayed him.
Shen Wenlang’s gaze softened as he looked down at him. His hand drifted naturally to Gao Tu’s belly, resting there with quiet familiarity.
“You’re beautiful,” he said, the words spoken with calm certainty, as if it were the most obvious truth in the world.
Gao Tu rolled his eyes.
“You say that every day.”
“And I’ll keep saying it every day,” Shen Wenlang replied, brushing a loose strand of hair away from his face.
Gao Tu shifted on the bed, wrapping his arms around Shen Wenlang’s neck as he looked up at him.
“Stop staring at me like that,” he murmured.
Shen Wenlang raised an eyebrow. “Like what?”
Gao Tu huffed softly. “Like you’re about to eat me.”
A quiet chuckle escaped the Alpha.
“Maybe I am,” Shen Wenlang said, completely unapologetic.
“Wenlang…”
But the warning carried very little conviction.
Shen Wenlang’s lips moved down Gao Tu’s chest, while his fingers made their way to the entrance of the Omega.
“So wet for me,” the Alpha murmured as he traced a line from the belly button to the nipple that he hadn't touched, yet.
“A-Lang~,” moaned Gao Tu. His eyes closed as he tilted his head back, reacting to the Alpha’s touch.
Shen Wenlang looked up briefly, enjoying the sight of his excited mate.
The Omega arched, panting at the sensation.
“Move, Wenlang,” his mate begged. The pregnancy had made him much more sensitive and restless.
Shen Wenlang rushed to kiss Gao Tu’s lips while his bunny wrapped his arms around his neck and legs around his waist, seeking contact.
“I want you in me, Wenlang,” the Omega said, breaking from the kiss and playfully teasing the Alpha.
Shen Wenlang growled as he tightened his hold on Gao Tu’s waist.
God, that waist.
He slowly entered in Gao Tu, releasing calming pheromones and pressing close, brushing his mate's collarbones.
“You feel so good,” he whispered, sighing and closing his eyes. “So tight and warm around me.” He gave a gentle push.
“Wenlang, please,” exclaimed Gao Tu, tugging at the back of his mate’s neck.
Shen Wenlang didn’t need to be told twice. He began moving steadily, lost in the rhythm with his Omega.
Soon the room was filled with their shared scent, the sound of skin against skin, and the moans of both.
Gao Tu clung to his Alpha’s back, leaving marks and kisses along his shoulders and chest. Shen Wenlang’s hands moved constantly over his bunny’s body, from thighs to waist, from buttocks to chest.
The gentle touch left shivers and warmth across the Omega’s skin. Shen Wenlang showed pure devotion, attuned to his mate’s responses. It wasn’t just biology; it was desire, connection, and love.
“I’m close,” Gao Tu moaned, eyes closed.
Shen Wenlang felt the intensity building. “Come for me, baobei,” he ordered.
Gao Tu called out his Alpha’s name loudly, overwhelmed by the sensation.
At that sinful and splendid sight, Shen Wenlang couldn't resist: he came, freeing himself in the body of his mate, while his knot swelled, blocking the hole.
Some time later, Shen Wenlang laid on his side, breathing slowly as the quiet returned to the room.
Beside him, Gao Tu rested against the pillows, clearly exhausted. His eyes were already half-closed, his breathing slow and steady.
Shen Wenlang glanced down and let out a quiet, amused breath.
“Well,” he murmured, “that shower didn’t help much.”
Gao Tu groaned softly, too tired to even glare properly.
“You’re the problem,” he muttered sleepily.
“Mm.” Shen Wenlang’s lips curved slightly. “I’ll take responsibility for that.”
He leaned closer and brushed a light kiss against Gao Tu’s temple.
“Was it good?” he asked softly.
“Mmm,” Gao Tu hummed, already drifting toward sleep.
“I’ll take that as a yes,” Shen Wenlang said with a quiet chuckle.
He carefully wiped them both down with a damp towel before changing the sheets as gently as possible, trying not to disturb his mate. Ever since becoming pregnant, Gao Tu had been sleeping more than usual.
When everything was settled again, Shen Wenlang noticed something that made his lips curl in quiet amusement.
The blankets around Gao Tu had slowly begun to gather toward him.
Not neatly.
But instinctively.
Shen Wenlang shifted slightly, looking closer. At some point, Gao Tu had pulled half the bedding toward himself, curling in the middle like a small animal preparing a den.
“Nesting already…” Shen Wenlang murmured under his breath.
It was common for pregnant Omegas. Especially when their scent glands were more sensitive and their instincts stronger.
The faint scent of sage had deepened, warmer now, sweeter. It carried that subtle undertone that only an Alpha would notice—the scent of home.
Shen Wenlang’s wolf stirred with quiet satisfaction.
Careful not to wake him, he adjusted the blankets around Gao Tu’s shoulders and gently rubbed the back of his neck where the mating mark rested.
The bond immediately responded.
A soft ripple of calm pheromones drifted through the room.
Gao Tu sighed in his sleep and instinctively pressed closer, one hand drifting over Shen Wenlang’s arm before settling again on his stomach.
“Needy bunny,” Shen Wenlang whispered fondly.
He didn’t mind.
Not even a little.
If anything, the pregnancy had made Gao Tu even more irresistible to his Alpha instincts. The protective urge sat permanently in Shen Wenlang’s chest now, heavy and warm like a second heartbeat.
Mine.
Mate.
Pup.
The thoughts were simple. Primitive.
But they filled him with an almost overwhelming sense of pride.
His fingers moved slowly over Gao Tu’s belly again, feeling the faint movement beneath his palm.
“Hey there, puppy,” he murmured quietly.
Another small kick answered him.
Shen Wenlang huffed softly in amusement.
“You’re already strong,” he said quietly. “Don’t give your baba too much trouble.”
Gao Tu shifted again, brow faintly creasing.
Even in sleep, his Omega senses reacted to the change in Shen Wenlang’s tone.
Immediately, the Alpha released a stronger wave of soothing pheromones.
The reaction was instant.
Gao Tu relaxed again, his breathing evening out.
“Better,” Shen Wenlang whispered.
Pregnant Omegas often needed more reassurance from their Alpha. The bond demanded closeness—scent, touch, presence. Without it, their instincts could become restless.
Shen Wenlang had already adjusted his entire routine around it.
Shorter meetings.
More time working from home.
And absolutely no business trips until after the pup was born.
His company could survive a few months without him traveling.
His mate came first.
Always.
His hand moved again, rubbing slow circles over Gao Tu’s belly.
“Your baba is stubborn,” he told the baby quietly. “But he takes good care of us.”
Another tiny shift answered him.
Shen Wenlang chuckled softly.
“Behave tonight,” he whispered softly, his thumb tracing slow circles over the curve of the belly. “Your baba needs his rest.”
He leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to Gao Tu’s hair.
“Goodnight, baobei. I love you,” he murmured.
Breathing in the familiar scent of his mate one last time, Shen Wenlang finally closed his eyes, holding his family safely in his arms.
