Work Text:
The club is crowded, sweaty bodies moving on the dance floor, like drops of water in an ocean; small particles connected into one big mass. Strobe lights blinking so fast it makes everything move in slow motion. Music blaring from the speakers, so loud the sound reverberates through bones.
Boom wants to go home. The only reason he is here is because he promised his friend Phuwin that he would keep him company. Be his wingman, to be more specific. But now, Phuwin is openly flirting with Pond from marketing, and Boom is left alone at the bar, nursing a piña colada.
He should have stayed home. He could be sitting on his couch right now. Watching his favorite series, a bag of popcorn on his lap and a drink in his hand.
He’s about to leave when someone sits on the stool next to him.
“If it isn’t the God of accounting,” a cheerful voice exclaims, and Boom wants to punch him even before he turns around.
He knows this voice.
Aou, from the sales team.
He’s always so loud. Lively, some would say. Annoying, if you ask Boom. Every time Boom goes to eat lunch, all he can hear is Aou’s voice booming through the cafeteria. When he goes to the rooftop for a break, he knows Aou is there even before he opens the door.
It annoys him. Aou annoys him.
“Don’t you have any friends to sit with?” he asks him now.
“Are you not even going to pretend to be happy to see me?” Aou retorts, mock pout on his lips.
Boom sighs. He forces the fakest smile he can muster on his lips.
“Aou, it’s so great to see you here.”
Aou laughs. His whole body shaking. His head tipped back. Like he’s having the best time of his life.
“What’s funny?”
“You.”
Boom rolls his eyes.
“But, you know, I’m quite happy right now.”
Boom knows he’s baiting him. He shouldn’t ask.
“Why?”
“You know my name.”
Fuck.
“Don’t you know mine too?” he asks.
As soon as the words leave his lips, he regrets saying them. It sounds like he’s trying to flirt with Aou. He doesn’t want to flirt with Aou.
“Of course, I know your name. Who doesn’t know the great Boom, the God of accounting?”
“Can you stop calling me like that?” Boom asks.
“Why? Isn’t that your nickname?”
“Is it? I’ve never heard anyone call me like that.”
Aou chuckles.
“Everyone in sales calls you like that.”
“Why though? Because I’m good at my job?”
Boom knows he’s good at what he does. He has worked hard to be where he is today. And while many people hate anything related to mathematics, Boom has always loved working with numbers.
“Well, yes.” Aou pauses. He lets his eyes go down Boom’s body slowly before bringing his gaze back up. “And also, because you look like an Adonis.”
Boom scoffs.
“You do know Adonis was not even a god, right?”
Aou just waves his hand dismissively at Boom’s words.
“Whatever. You’re hot, like a god.” He points at Boom’s shirt. “And by the way, red looks really good on you.”
“Are you hitting on me?”
Aou grins.
“Maybe?”
Boom shakes his head. He doesn’t even know why he is entertaining the other man’s nonsense.
“Did you have something to tell me or are you just here to annoy me?”
Aou leans close to him, letting his hand rest on Boom’s knee.
“You looked lonely, so I came to keep you company.”
Boom wants to tell him he is fine on his own. He doesn’t need his pity or whatever this is. But, when he turns his eyes to look at Aou, he stops. His eyes are attentive. Focused on him. Like he can read his mind.
Then the bubble bursts.
Aou leans even closer, his mouth close to Boom’s ear, like he is about to tell him a secret.
“You know, they made a bet on who could fuck you first.”
He leans back, gesturing vaguely to a table on the other side of the club, where a few people from the sales team are seated.
Boom freezes. He doesn’t know whether he should get angry or just laugh.
“And who did you bet on?” he asks, challenging.
“Myself, of course.”
Boom raises an eyebrow at the reply.
“Aren’t you too confident?”
Aou leans forward again, until he’s so close that Boom can smell his cologne. It’s sweet. Warm. Spicy. It makes Boom’s head spin.
“We can share the money.”
Aou is smiling confidently. His eyes never leaving Boom’s face. Like he’s assessing him.
“Do I look like I need money?”
“Honestly, you don’t.”
“At least we can agree on something.”
Aou laughs at Boom’s words. A real laugh. Not like the ones Boom has heard so far, the fake, flirty ones.
“But do you want one of them to win?” he asks, tilting his head to the group on the other side of the club.
“What if I don’t want anyone to win?”
The teasing grin is back on Aou’s lips.
“Not even yourself?”
“I haven’t made a bet, thank you.”
“I’m not talking about the bet.”
“Then what are you talking about?”
“Me.” He points to himself. Then points to Boom. “You. Us, you know, on a bed. Or a couch. Or in a car.”
He laughs at Boom’s offended look.
“I’m not picky.”
Boom almost chokes on his drink.
“About your partners?”
“About the place,” Aou retorts.
Boom scoffs again.
“You’re enjoying this,” he says.
“What? The banter?” Aou chuckles. “I am. But you know what I would enjoy even more?” His lips brush against Boom’s ear. “Less talking and more… Touching.”
“You’re insufferable.”
“You like it.”
Boom feels his face heat up. He lifts his glass to take a sip, hiding his face.
He hears Aou gasp.
“You do like it, don’t you?”
“I don’t,” Boom retorts, whipping his head so fast he almost loses his balance on the stool.
Aou steadies him, his hand clasped on Boom’s arm.
“Careful,” he says. “Or are you trying to sit on my lap?”
Boom closes his fingers around Aou’s hand, about to take it off his arm. But then he stops, an idea forming in his mind.
Two can play this game.
He lets his fingers travel up Aou’s arm, until they rest on his shoulder. He leans forward, invading Aou’s personal space.
“Do you want me to? Sit on your lap, I mean.”
Aou chokes.
Boom grins.
He downs the rest of his drink before standing up, leaving a stunned Aou behind.
He sends a text to Phuwin to tell him he’s going home and heads out of the club.
***
While Boom is sitting in front of the club, waiting for his ride, a car pulls up.
“Do you want a lift?”
He doesn’t even look up.
“I’m fine. My ride should be here any second.”
Just as the words leave his lips, a notification appears on his screen. He curses under his breath as he realizes that his ride just got canceled.
“The offer’s still on the table.”
He pauses, pondering his next move. He could book another ride, but who knows how long he would have to wait. He has already been approached by two drunk guys in the five minutes he has been sitting here.
He stands up, getting in Aou’s car without a word.
“Your place or mine?”
Boom rolls his eyes as he buckles his seat belt.
“I’m going back to my place. You can go wherever you want.”
“Great. Then…”
Boom already knows what Aou is about to say.
“Except my place.”
“You’re no fun.”
But Aou is grinning. Like he is indeed having fun.
They drive in silence for some time. Aou focused on the road. Boom watching the illuminated buildings in the distance.
“You know, I see you looking at me sometimes, at work…” Aou trails off, shooting Boom a glance. “I think you like me.”
Boom scoffs.
“Just because you’re hot doesn’t mean I have to like you.”
He only realizes what he just said when he hears Aou’s smug laugh.
“So, you do think I’m hot.”
He can feel his whole face heat up, to the tips of his ears. But he just shrugs.
“I’m not blind.”
“Then what’s the problem? You think I’m hot, I think you’re hot. We can fuck.”
Boom doesn’t reply. He considers the situation. Maybe he should accept Aou’s offer. After all, his friends always tell him to loosen up. Plus, Aou is hot.
“Is it because of the bet? Because I told you about it. I’m not trying to fool you or anything...” Aou is rambling by that point. “… I can give it all to you if you want.”
“Okay.”
“Huh? You want all the money?”
Boom shakes his head.
“No. I mean, okay, let’s fuck.”
Aou does a double take, his eyes wide.
“Huh?”
Boom hums.
“But not in your car.”
Aou clears his throat.
“Right, right.”
He keeps driving. Silently. Boom thinks it might be the first time he has seen Aou not being a chatterbox.
He glances at him. He’s focused on the road, eyes staring straight ahead. Hands holding the steering wheel steadily, almost relaxed. But there’s some tension in his jaw. And a faint blush on his cheeks.
Huh?
“You know I can feel you staring at me, right?”
Boom shrugs.
“Can’t I?”
Aou stops at a red light. He turns his head, staring at Boom with his mouth open in shock.
“Are you flirting with me?”
Boom laughs.
How the tables have turned.
“Well, might as well make the most of it, right?”
Aou shakes his head. Like he can’t quite believe it.
“Change of plans. We’re going back to my place. It’s closer.”
When the light turns green, he speeds off. Fast. Impatient.
They arrive at Aou’s place in no time. Aou pushes Boom against the front door as soon as he closes it. His lips are on him in a second. It’s rushed. Awkward.
Boom pushes his shoulders, just to get some space between them.
“Can you at least give me some time to take off my shoes?”
Aou doesn’t answer. Instead, he drops to his knees.
Boom freezes.
Aou bends down, his hands on Boom’s shoes to take them off. Carefully. Gently. Almost reverently.
Once he’s done, he presses his face against Boom’s leg, nuzzling against the fabric of his pants. He lets his head travel up slowly. Teasingly. On the knee. Over the thigh.
Before he can go any further, Boom grabs his collar, making him stand up again. He pushes him against the opposite wall.
Aou is looking at him intently. There’s a glint in his eyes Boom is not sure he can decipher. Lust? Fondness?
Aou moves forward to kiss him again, but Boom stops him. Pushes him back against the wall.
“Aren’t you too eager?”
He closes the distance between them slowly. His lips land on Aou’s cheek first. A soft press. Then he lets his tongue brush against the skin teasingly. Aou’s hand goes up to his chin, turning his head to kiss him properly. It’s slower this time, but just as hungry.
They make their way to the couch. Mouths never separating. Hands roaming each other’s bodies. Aou sits down, pulling Boom on top of him. He lets his lips trail down Boom’s face. His cheek. His chin. Down his neck. Sucking gently. Nipping teasingly. Grazing the skin with his tongue.
His hands lift to Boom’s shirt. Unfastening the buttons one after another. Leaving kisses on the uncovered skin as he goes down. He slides the shirt down Booms’ arms, taking it off his body as he stares at him with hungry eyes.
“You know, red really is your color.” He looks up, his mouth on Boom’s chest. “And I’m not talking about the shirt.”
Boom looks down, startled. His chest is adorned with red marks, like a constellation of small stars.
He huffs.
He grabs Aou’s collar once more, lifting his face until it is close to his. Kisses him once.
“Stop leaving marks,” he whispers against his lips.
Then he bites down, pulling Aou’s lower lip between his teeth. Not hard enough to draw blood, just enough to make Aou flinch. He leans back, a proud grin on his face.
“You’re feisty.”
Aou doesn’t look bothered; rather, he looks even more turned on. He stands up, lifting Boom in his arms, and takes him to the bedroom. There, he tosses Boom on the bed, taking off his own shirt fast before climbing on top of him.
He pins Boom’s arms over his head and dives back in. Like he needs to kiss Boom more than he needs air.
He trails one hand down Boom’s chest. To his stomach. Then to the waistband of his pants. He wastes no time unbuckling his belt, his hand slipping inside to stroke Boom over his boxers.
Boom moans, his head thrown back.
“I knew your voice would be sweet,” Aou teases, his mouth attached to Boom’s neck, leaving wet trails on the skin.
“Do you ever stop talking?” Boom retorts.
Aou lifts his head. Winks at him.
“Only when my mouth is occupied with something else.”
“Then what are you waiting for?”
The words make Aou chuckle. He moves back, removing Boom’s pants and boxers in one swift motion. Leaving him naked and flushed on the bed.
As he starts crawling back on top of him, Boom stops him, a foot on his chest.
“Wait. Why am I the only one naked?”
Aou doesn’t answer. Instead, he shuffles out of his jeans, naked in no time.
“Better?”
Boom nods, satisfied. He leans forward, taking Aou’s arm to pull him back on top of him.
This time, Boom dives in first, his lips capturing Aou’s mouth in a languid kiss. He puts his arms around Aou’s neck, pulling him even closer to him. His legs open wide to let him lie between them; one ankle hooked around his back.
He moves his hips slowly, thrusting up against Aou’s abdomen, both men groaning at the gesture.
“Now look who’s eager?” Aou whispers against his ear, taking the lobe in his mouth. Sucking on it gently.
“Aou.”
It was supposed to be a warning, but it ends up as a cry because of Aou’s ministrations.
“Wow, and I thought your voice was sweet before.”
Boom kisses him again. Just to shut him up.
Suddenly, Aou flips him over, his stomach landing on the mattress with a soft thud. His face pressed against a pillow. He feels Aou lift his hips, pushing a pillow under them.
“Tell me if you’re uncomfortable.”
He hears Aou rummaging in a drawer, then he feels his hand on his back. Warm and soft. The first push into his heat is uncomfortable, making him flinch.
“It’s cold,” he whines.
“Sorry,” Aou mumbles, the hand on his back drawing soothing circles on his skin to help him relax.
Aou opens him slowly. One digit after another. Until Boom is ready. Until he’s moaning in the pillow, his knuckles white from gripping the sheets too tightly.
Boom inhales deeply as he feels Aou push himself inside him. He’s slow. Careful. Controlled. Making sure he doesn’t hurt him. When he starts moving, it’s just as careful, each thrust slow and measured.
Boom pushes his hips back, meeting each of his thrusts eagerly. Hungrily.
Then, Aou pulls out suddenly. He flips Boom over and pulls him onto his lap. He thrusts back in with more fervor.
“Like this,” he says, pressing a kiss to Boom’s neck. Almost tenderly. “I want to see your face.”
If Boom were thinking straight, he would pause at the gesture. So different from what he would expect from Aou. But he’s not thinking straight. The pleasure is making his mind hazy.
He moves on top of Aou impatiently, chasing his release.
He whines when Aou tightens his hold on his hips, slowing him down. Aou’s hands lead his hips as they move. Slow. Burning. Pure torture.
“You like it slow, don’t you?” Aou whispers against his lips.
Boom wants to deny it, but he can’t.
It’s the most delicious torture he has ever experienced.
He lets Aou set the pace. Meets each of his upward thrusts, the pleasure building up fast. In no time, he’s on the edge, seconds away from falling over the precipice.
Aou moves his hands from his sides to the small of his back. Pulling him closer. Thrusting deeper. His lips attached to his chest. Sucking at a nipple. Mouthing at the skin.
It’s too much for Boom.
At a particularly deep thrust, his back arches. A wave of pleasure shoots through his spine. So strong it makes him see white for a second. His hands grasp Aou’s hair, pushing his face against his chest. He climaxes with his name on his lips.
He can feel Aou’s thrusts slowing down, like he’s restraining himself. He lets his hands fall to Aou’s hands, pushing them firmly against his hips. Holding them there.
“Don’t stop,” he whispers, his lips brushing against Aou’s ear.
He nibbles at the skin, trails his lips down to Aou’s neck before going back up to press them against his mouth.
“Aou.” He moans his name against his lips. “Come for me.”
That’s enough to push him over the edge. Boom kisses him through his orgasm, swallowing the sounds that come out of his mouth.
After he comes down from his high, Aou flops back on the bed, pulling Boom down with him. His arms around his waist. Holding him close. Like he doesn’t want to let go.
“I should get going,” Boom tells him after a few minutes, rolling on his side to get out of bed.
Now that his thoughts are clear again, he’s embarrassed. He’s afraid to face Aou. Afraid he might make fun of him.
“Just stay the night,” Aou answers, pulling him back in his embrace.
He snuggles close to him, his chest against Boom’s back.
“My place is closer to work anyway.”
Boom doesn’t fight back. He sighs, resigned, and adjusts his body to rest more comfortably against Aou.
Just as he falls asleep, he feels the soft brush of Aou’s lips against the back of his neck.
“Goodnight, Boom.”
***
The next morning, Boom wakes up nestled in Aou’s arms. For a second, he stays still. Savoring the warmth coming from his body. The weight of his arm around him. The soothing sound of his calm breathing.
Then, he panics. He crawls out of Aou’s arms as sneakily as possible, then gets up, taking his clothes with him as he tiptoes out of the bedroom.
He’s at the front door, ready to leave unnoticed, when he hears Aou’s low chuckles coming from behind him.
“Are you trying to leave like a thief?”
He splutters, trying to find an excuse.
“I need to go back home to change.”
“You can borrow my clothes.”
Boom knows he can’t.
He can picture Phuwin’s face if he saw him arrive at work dressed in Aou’s clothes. The wheels turning in his head as he’d try to guess who the clothes belong to. Then, his teasing grin as understanding would dawn on him. And Boom knows, Phuwin would be able to guess.
He wouldn’t be able to survive even a day at work.
“What are you going to do with the money?” he asks Aou to distract him, bending down to tie his shoelaces.
For a moment, Aou doesn’t reply. Like he is confused.
“The bet,” Boom reminds him.
“Ah… I’ll take you out on a date.”
Boom looks up, his eyes wide.
“Huh?”
Aou is staring at him. A big grin on his face. Playful eyes. Proud.
“What if I say no? Aren’t you too confident?”
Aou chuckles.
“Wanna bet?”
