His New Favorite

Summary:

Jealous of how quickly Robby seems to treat Dennis the way he used to treat Frank, Frank decides to confront Dennis in the locker room. It doesn't go the way he expects.

Notes:

My third time ever attempting to write fanfic, the last two were short and bad lol. So I welcome constructive feedback, but be gentle.

Also I know it's not realistic that no one walked in on them but this is porn world logic.

Work Text:

July 4th, 3pm

Frank watched from the triage desk as Robby once again clapped Whitaker on the back, his hand lingering there just a moment longer than appropriate. Not that anyone else seemed to notice, Frank seethed.

His eyes burning just a bit as he turned back to the paperwork in front of him. How long did he know Robby before he started looking at him like that, touching him like that. How long did it take Frank to prove himself worthy of it, because as hard as he tried to remember it couldn't have been this soon.

Dennis only knew Robby 10 months, less than a year. What was so special about him? Frank stewed in his thoughts a bit longer. He needs to stop thinking about it. Eventually Robby will see he's serious about being clean, about being better. It'll just take time, it's not going to happen immediately. He was done thinking about it today, he resolved to himself.

...

2 hours later he gave up on trying not to think about it, how could he? Robby was so brazen, Frank sighed to himself. Hearing and seeing flashes of the bay, it was nonstop, the touches, the looks. How was no one else looking? He looked at Mckay, Dana, anyone that was nearby, no one made a face. This must be how it is now, it's just normal. That last thought had finally occurred to him and now he had a pit in his stomach. He had been gone 10 months, when did it start?

It was almost the end of day shift now, the handover in full swing. Frank finally stood up, stretching, the ache in his back immediately making itself more known.

"Ow." He muttered it quietly, but still Dana, suddenly nearby, looked at him.

"You alright, kid? You've been quiet today." Dana said, looking at him kindly. It was one of the few good things about his first day back, Dana's immediate forgiveness and kindness. He wished Robby's lack of it when he had first came in that morning didn't still sting so much.

"Yeah I'm alright, just my back, y'know how these chairs are." Frank replied, looking down at it.

"Don't I know it." She chuckled before saying in a lower tone, "Hey, you have ibuprofen or something right? Why don't you take one and get some water while I look at these real quick." She directed her eyes at the stack of paperwork infront of Frank.

"Huh? It's not that bad really, I'm about to go home anyways." He said quickly. He did have some, but he didn't want to take it immediately. It was one day of sitting in a chair, how could he get back to what he was doing before, actually in the pitt, if he needed ibuprofen for this?

"Oh I don't even wanna hear it, get out of here and take a breather, stop being so harsh on yourself. Don't think I won't notice." She gently moved around him to grab the paperwork, forcing him to back up and go towards the door.

"Alright, alright." Frank sighed, glad for the distraction nonetheless. He walked to the locker room, staying on the outskirts of the heart of the pitt, trying to avoid looking towards where he knew Robby would be.

He sighed a breath of relief when he walked in, no one else in sight, thank god. He couldn't stand the idea of someone watching him take anything now. He was digging through his bag as he heard the door swoosh open, then close.

He turned his head a bit and saw him. Dennis. He held himself back from sighing again, couldn't it have been anyone else? Dennis caught his eye while fiddling with his lock, smiling politely before looking away again.

Frank wasn't sure what it was but suddenly, he was angry, really angry. It was like all the stress of today, no, the last 10 months, had just caught up with him. He gave up on finding the ibuprofen, slamming his locker closed before leaning against it, his arms crossed. Dennis jumped slightly, flicking his gaze towards Frank.

"So, what's it like?" Frank spit out, looking at him.

"What?" Dennis hesitated a second before replying, his eyebrows scrunched together.

He wasn't sure where Langdon was going with this but he doubt it was good. He hadn't seen the man much today after Robby dismissed him, Dennis thought to himself. He didn't agree with the harsh treatment Robby was giving him but he knew it wasn't his place to say anything. He had just hoped Dana would say something to Robby to get him to chill out a bit.

Frank scoffed, before straightening again from his leaning position, then he turned and looked at the glass door, not seeing anyone that seemed to be heading towards the locker room.

"What's it like being Robby's favorite?" Frank finally replied, crossing his arms again before taking a couple steps towards Dennis.

"Oh. Well, uhm, I don't know if I'm really his favorite or anything." Dennis replied, his face turning a bit red at the thought of it. He then closed his locker and started to walk past Langdon.

Impulsively, Frank stuck his hand out, landing on the lockers and blocking Dennis' way. Dennis stopped suddenly, almost bumping into him before looking up at him confused. Frank then stepped closer, making Dennis back up until his back reached the lockers, then Frank put his other hand up, blocking Dennis in completely.

"Really? You don't know? You think he touches anyone else the way he touches you? You see him pull aside and talk to Mel or Santos as often as he does with you?" Frank looked down at Dennis, who was darting his eyes back and forth from Langdon to the door.

"I-i'm sorry? I don't know what you want me to say." Dennis felt a little thrill going down his spine, his face flushing more now. He doesn't know what's happening but he's trying not to think about the angry man's strong arms on either side of him, the heat of his body so close. Wasn't it hard enough, trying to look normal with how often Robby touches him lately? He had noticed, but he didn't think telling Langdon that was a smart idea.

Frank slammed one of his hands hard next to Dennis' head, shaking him from his thoughts. A pool of heat was starting to form deep in his stomach, he felt a bit panicky, he needed to get out of here before he embarrassed himself or pissed off Langdon even more.

"I want you to admit it, you know exactly what I'm talking about Dr. Whitaker." Frank said heatedly, putting his hand on the space between Whitaker's scrub collar and neck.

"Am I refreshing your memory yet? Do you know how-" Frank stopped speaking all of a sudden. Dennis looked at him, he was looking down at something.

Oh no.

Panic in full swing now Dennis realized it was too late, he was hard. After months and months of successful avoidance of this exact situation, it had finally happened.

Frank deflated a bit, all the anger and annoyance draining out of him. It was replaced with confusion. After what was probably just a few seconds of silence, but felt much longer to Dennis, Frank spoke.

"Why are you hard?" He said bluntly, what could possibly be turning Dennis on right now? Was he really that infatuated by Robby that even the mention of him made him hard? It couldn't be, surely Dennis must have more self control than that.

"I am so, so, sorry Dr. Langdon." Dennis said anxiously while Frank just stood there looking at him. Dennis was surprised he hadn't gotten much angrier, or even stepped back. He shuffled his feet a bit, uncomfortable, still knowing anyone could walk in suddenly. Langdon's warm large hand was still on his neck, he shuddered a bit as a finger twitched.

For Langdon, it had finally clicked. It was him, Whitaker was hard from Langdon, his touch. Conflicting feelings swelling in him, Frank decided, why not, he'd already put them both in this fucked up situation, why not see it through. Maybe he'd find out why Robby liked this scrawny sad eyed man so much after all.

Frank tightened his hold slightly, moving his hand up to Whitaker's neck, rubbing his thumb softly against his Adam's apple. Dennis whined softly, one of his hands coming forward to grab at Frank's shirt. Frank then let go of Whitaker's neck, and he sighed slightly in relief before startling again as Frank put his hand on his hip instead, fingers just barely under the edge of the top, touching bare skin. Then he leant down, putting his mouth on Dennis' neck softly.

"Dr. Langdon!" Dennis yelped, both hands tightly gripping Frank's shirt, pressing himself harder against the lockers.

"Has he ever done this? How far has he gone with you?" Frank mumbled against Whitaker's neck before pressing his teeth down softly. Dennis squirmed in his grasp, one hand still on his side, Frank's other hand was now holding the shorter man's head in place as he tried to pull away.

"Wh-a, what?" Dennis gasped, his head swimming, he hadn't been touched like this ever, unbeknownst to Langdon. He barely kissed a girl in highschool before realizing he didn't like them, then he never really got the chance to explore dating men, too busy with medical school.

"Don't tell me he's just been touching you like that and you haven't done a damn thing about it." Langdon growled out, his anger returning, only slightly.

"I don't know, I, I never- aaAH!" Dennis tried to reply, before yelping, as Frank finally pressed his entire body down against Whitaker. He ground his own hard on against Dennis, pressing him against the lockers before pushing his knee between his legs, spreading them apart slightly. Frank then put the hand that was on Whitaker's head and pressed it against his mouth as Dennis whined and shuddered.

"I can't believe it, are you just waiting for him to make a move? He's not going to, if you haven't noticed yet he's pretty repressed about that stuff." Frank sighed, not really angry anymore the hornier he got. He's starting to see the interest in this guy.

When Frank pressed against him Dennis was forced to move his hands from the front of Langdon's shirt, now loosely draping them around his waist instead. His hands started gripping the shirt again as Frank ground down, he thought about if they didn't get caught now then what explanation could he give for his suddenly wrinkled top. His thoughts drifted lazily as he pressed his knee harder up, making Dennis lift himself on his tippy toes while leaning against the lockers.

"I wonder if he'll be jealous when he notices the marks on your neck, wondering who got to have you first, just because he's too cowardly to tell you he wants you. What do you think?" Frank whispered into Whitaker's ear before pressing a soft kiss on the skin under it, then taking the earlobe into his mouth, sucking softly on it. Dennis whimpered quietly.

He hadn't really comprehended anything Frank had said in the past few minutes, his thoughts going a million miles a minute, his eyes clenched, occasionally opening to sneak a glance at the door or Frank's head. He never felt like this before, he thought he could imagine what something like this would be like. But he was wrong. He felt like that moment on a rollercoaster before it went down a huge hill, anxious and thrilled, but hot, so hot he had to be sweating through his scrubs. He never felt this hard before either, painful almost as he rubbed against Frank's thigh. Feeling Frank's own erection on his leg, through the layers of soft worn scrubs.

"Hey? Are you even listening to me?" Frank said, as Dennis whined and moaned quietly under his hand. Frank took his hand from Whitaker's mouth and then instead grasped one of the little curls on the back of his neck, pulling it sharply.

"AH!" Dennis moaned suddenly, just a bit too loud. Wrenching his head back, Dennis slammed it into the lockers while shuddering.

"Oops, sorry about that." Frank laughed lightly, holding his hand up to shield the back of Whitaker's head.

"Please, please, can we stop talking about him. Would you.." Dennis said quietly, drifting off before ending his sentence, he opened his eyes and glanced up at Frank, eyes darting between his eyes and his mouth.

"What?" Frank stilled, one hand fiddling with the curls still, the other on Dennis' bare hip, fingers wiggling and skirting under the edge of his pants.

"Uhm, would you, yknow, uh.." Dennis stammered, feeling shy now that he was suddenly expected to ask for something in this exchange, instead of just letting Frank do whatever he wants.

"God, you're like the girls I'd fool around with in high school, so shy." Frank laughed quietly before finally relenting, pressing his mouth against Whitaker's.

The comparison made Dennis' face burn, moaning softly into Frank's mouth, clenching his hands on his shirt. Frank's tongue entered his mouth when it opened from the moan, making Dennis jump once again, not expecting it.

Back in Frank's head, he thought back to his few experiences with girls before he got married to Abby right after graduation, then his first encounters with men after they started the divorce process. This felt strangely similar to those high school experiences, like every move Frank made was completely unexpected to Dennis. He knew Dennis was younger but not that young, 27 right? A small hint of guilt was starting to sneak in the back of his mind, but Frank shook his head. Dennis made the first move here, there's nothing to worry about, he's a grown man, not a blushing virgin that's being taken advantage of. Frank reassured himself while exploring Whitaker's mouth with his tongue. Sure wish he'd at least lighten it with the shirt grabbing, he thought fleetingly, beginning to rhythmically move his knee against Dennis' hard on again.

Dennis hesitantly moved his tongue against Frank's, not entirely sure how this went. Then Dennis began to move his own thigh against Frank's length, in tandem with him, that felt like the right move.

Frank moaned into Dennis's mouth now, the sound higher and more strained than before.

"God, if you were a girl he definitely would've made his move already, and I wouldn't get to have such a sweet pretty little thing all to myself" Frank said, resting his forehead against Whitaker's.

"Jesus" Dennis whined, the praise going straight to his groin.

"Now that I know, everytime I see you in a room alone again, I'll have to hold myself back from coming in and locking you in there with me. If it wasn't for the fact that someone could come in here any minute I'd pin you down and start fucking you into the floor right now." Frank said heatedly as Dennis writhed against him.

"Jesus!" Dennis yelped before moaning and shuddering, he pressed his face tightly into Frank's shoulder and tightened his hold on him, before stilling, then sagging back against the lockers. His hold on Frank's shirt at last, loosening, his hands aching slightly now.

"Oops" Frank said quietly as he too, stilled. Looking down at Dennis, he slowly straightened his raised leg, before reaching towards something on top of the lockers.

Dennis stood there, breathing, reality slowly coming back to him. Oh my god. The daze he was in was suddenly ending.

Frank pressed something into his hand before leaning back, taking a step back from him. A napkin. Frank was back at his locker now, just to the side of him.

"I've never done something like that before." Dennis said quietly, turning away from Frank as he quickly tried to clean himself with the napkin. He tossed the napkin in the trash can before turning to a small sink.

"What? Hooking up at work? Yeah I don't really make a habit of it either, Den." Langdon chuckled lightly, finding the ibuprofen and a water bottle, taking it quickly, then offering the water bottle to Whitaker after he dried his hands.

"Uh, yeah, well." Dennis hesitated again, his mind mostly cleared, the lust dissipating, he wasn't sure if he should tell Frank exactly what he means. He took the offered water bottle and took a big drink, his mouth now dry. He gave it back, then Frank started pulling his jacket on, raising his eyebrow at Dennis expectantly.

"I meant, I haven't done anything like that before, with anyone, ever." Dennis said quietly, turning to his locker, pulling his own bag out of it.

Frank stilled.

"Oh. Shit, man." Frank immediately started thinking back on the situation that had just transpired. How it started and how Dennis had reacted to each new action. That hint of guilt was sneaking back in.

"Just so you know, the storage room by trauma bay 4 has a lock that works from the inside. I noticed it by accident a few days ago." Dennis said as he closed his locker, walking towards the door and past Frank successfully this time. He reached the door and looked back at Langdon, who was still standing at his own locker, and shyly smoothed his ruffled hair back into place.

"See you tomorrow, Dr. Langdon." Then he left, leaving Frank alone in the locker room.

Frank stared at the door.

He thought about that storage room Dennis mentioned. He put his baseball cap on, slung his bag over his shoulder, then closed the locker. Then he left.

As he walked back through the heart of the pitt, he looked briefly towards trauma bay 4, then went through the double doors into the waiting room.

Then he left the building.

...

Robby was about to leave, another long hard shift behind him, but he had to double check a chart first. He leaned against the desk, glasses slipping down his nose, trying to concentrate. He heard the locker room door open and close, he glanced up.

Whitaker left the locker room, smiling, oddly flushed, speed walking away almost after the door had shut.

A bit strange.

He went back to his chart, a few moments later, he heard the locker room door open and shut again. Langdon this time, Robby narrowed his eyes, the undercurrent of anger towards the man on his mind nonstop today. But Langdon too, was smiling slightly, and oddly flushed. Robby watched as he glanced across the room at something, before seemingly spotting it, his face reddening, before quickly walking away, out of the pitt.

Definitely strange.

Robby's eyes lingered on the door Langdon had left through for a few moments. Before Dana suddenly spoke up, apparently having been standing right next to Robby.

"What's that face for?" Dana said, stopping to look at Robby before she finally could go to the locker room, she had been held up helping Emma with Digby once again.

"Nothing, hopefully." Robby sighed, going back to his charting. Whatever Langdon and Whitaker had been talking about with eachother in there didn't concern him, so he put it out of his mind.

For now.
