First Time For Everything

Summary:

Despite being together for several years, Madeleine and Espresso have yet to be sexually intimate with each other.

It’s something that’s been plaguing Espresso’s mind, enough to disrupt his work.

Tonight, that all changes.

Work Text:

Espresso had never thought of himself as a romantic. Even in his youth, he had been far too preoccupied with his studies to entertain anything so impractical such as relationships. His time was accounted for with near obsessive rigorousness - hours devoted to magical theory, annotated notes filled with corrections, evenings spent revising what others would have deemed already sufficient.

On the rare occasions he allowed himself a reprieve from dense instructional texts, it was never without intellectual merit. He was not the type to waste time on mindless entertainment. However, he did sometimes read fiction novels. More often than not, they were romances.

But could you blame him? The genre was filled to the brim in the public libraries. The mage has memories of sitting in the back corner, flicking through various pages. Too embarrassed to be seen borrowing such books, he opted to finish them all in one go at his little nook. Those were his breaks.

And even though he did classify those novels as his little break. His brain couldn’t help but analyze the patterns in each book. The most common motif he examined was the tension in subtle gestures before they culminated in something deeper. The way the authors would describe intimacy in such refined ways which intrigued him.

It seemed inefficient to be engrossed with romances. But they were just so compelling.

Sexual intimacy, in particular, struck him as an experience both deeply personal and strangely methodical. Two individuals choosing to close the distance between them entirely. The trust and vulnerability involved was significant. He could not dismiss such an act as mere impulse; too much intention seemed laced into it.

Espresso had never envisioned himself swept away by reckless passion. If anything, he assumed that when - or even if - he ever entered a relationship, physical intimacy would follow in a timely progression. That he’ll know when the times right when the “stars align” or whatever those sentimental books used to say.

And for the longest time, he had wondered what it would be like with Madeleine.

For research purposes, of course.

It had been in his mind much more as of late. The question of what would it feel like to be that close to someone who you’ve been domestically intimate with for several years now. Madeleine was expressive in ways Espresso himself was not - physically affectionate, unembarrassed by touch, inclined to spend every moment as they possibly could together.

Three years in particular have passed since their relationship started.

Several years of sharing a home, fighting alongside each other on missions, patching up wounds with gauze and sweet, affectionate kisses.

But not once, in all that time, had either of them initiated anything beyond that boundary. There had been opportunities, certainly. Privacy had not been a rare commodity. Yet the threshold remained uncrossed.

And even more recently, this has begun to seriously bother the Mage.

Espresso attributed this increased awareness to two possible explanations. The first was purely temporal: perhaps their relationship was still in the early stages. There was no mandated timeline for such developments. It was entirely plausible that patience was simply warranted.

The second explanation, and the one he preferred, concerned their occupations. His own research consumed hours with relentless appetite, while Madeleine’s duties as Knight Commander demanded equal dedication. Their days were structured, and their timetables were all over the place. Fatigue was commonplace. Under such conditions, indulgence of any kind - no matter how anticipated - could easily be postponed without malice.

Surely it was the latter.

There was also a chance he wasn’t looking at the bigger picture. Perhaps it is possible that Madeleine simply did not view him in that manner. That the devotion he expressed was confined to companionship, to admiration unconnected to physical desire. The thought was illogical when measured against observable behavior, but there's still always a chance…

Espresso concluded that he did not like that chance.

The Mage couldn’t help but revisit minor interactions from the past: the way Madeleine’s hands sometimes paused at his hips before retreating; the manner in which kisses deepened momentarily before being softened again; the absence of escalation where one might reasonably expect it. Were these signs of restraint? Of respect? Or maybe just disinterest?

The last option was the possibility which unsettled him. The distraction of all this had grown intrusive enough to affect his work, a fact he found far more humiliating than the cause itself.

When their relationship had first begun to deepen, they had established a compromise - at Madeleine’s insistence, though Espresso had ultimately agreed to it. The hours in his laboratory were his own to govern. However, within the confines of their shared residence, his private study would not become an extension of endless obligation. There would be time limits.

As of now, he was seated at his desk, quill placed in the inkwell as he read over his neat notes.

The hinges of the doorknob turning caught his attention. That’s funny. He could’ve sworn he locked it.

As the door was pushed open, the man of the hour stepped in, dressed in not his usual armor but casual clothing. Espresso’s eyes quickly flicked to the window. The sun was beginning to set.

“…What hour is it?” the Mage asked.

“Past the one where you should still be working,” Madeleine replied brightly, stepping fully into the room and closing the door behind him. “I’ve come to retrieve you from your ten-hour workday. As any devoted partner would.”

Espresso turned in his chair to face him. How sweet, the Knight looked cozy.

“Make it twelve,” he corrected. “I haven’t been particularly productive today.” His fingers tapped against the desk. “My mind has been… elsewhere lately…”

Madeleine didn’t entertain the idea. “Ha. No.”

Rather than pressing the point from across the room, Madeleine found his place behind the chair. He came to a stop just close enough for Espresso to feel the warmth of him at his back before calloused fingers caught a loose strand of dark hair and twirled it absentmindedly.

“I don’t believe either of us feels particularly inclined to cook tonight,” Madeleine continued. “I’ll retrieve dinner. Do you have a request?”

The contact made Espresso still for a split second. After all that time spent thinking about their intimacy and contact, the single touch caused warmth to spread throughout his body.

“You may decide,” he replied composedly. “I won’t be eating just yet.”

Without having to turn around, he could tell Madeleine had opened his mouth to object.

“Don’t fret,” he added, lifting his quill out of the inkwell to scratch out a part of his notes. “I’ll heat up leftovers.”

The Mage knew it was hopeless to say such a thing. Madeleine valued routine sometimes more than Espresso. He loved sitting down at the dining table and eating together, he loved when they both went on tangents about their day.

“Nonsense. Food is brain power.” Madeleine fussed. “And you have been lacking in it.”

Espresso made a soft, affronted sound and whipped around in his chair, eyes filled with amusement and scrutiny. “Excuse me?” he demanded playfully. “What precisely are you attempting to imply?”

Madeleine’s fingers quickly withdrew from his hair with a flush crept over his cheeks. “Not like that!” he corrected quickly, hands lifting in front of him. “I meant that when I am not present, you possess a rather concerning habit of forgetting to eat entirely.”

Espresso’s brows arched.

“Trust me,” Madeleine pressed on, clearing his throat, “your mind is extraordinary. I know that.”

Espresso’s eyes did all the talking as they narrowed in on the hurried defense. Then, he slowly turned back toward his desk, coming to a reply. “Good save,” he murmured.

Unfortunately the Knights words remained true. When left to his own devices, meals became optional inconveniences. Madeleine had discovered that flaw before they had entered a relationship. Out of what the Paladin undoubtedly considered the goodness of his own heart, he would show up to Espresso’s laboratory unannounced, barging in with a box filled with glazed donuts. It was annoying at first, but Espresso came to terms with appreciating the gesture.

With nothing more to say, Madeleine’s hands settled on Espresso’s shoulders, warm through the fabric of his shirt. His thumbs pressed firmly, massaging at muscle long tensed from hours spent sitting down.

Espresso sucked in a breath, continuing to refuse the faint shiver that traced down his spine. “Get out,” he said half-heartedly. “You’re a distraction.”

“Mhm,” Madeleine hummed. His hands slid downward, following the line of Espresso’s arms before sliding back upward. On top of that, he leaned forward, closing the distance between them. His chin brushed against Espresso’s shoulder, and moments later his face nestled into the curve of his neck.

“I’m only getting out,” he murmured in a profoundly felicitously manner against his skin, “if you come with.”

A cold rush of goosebumps found their way on Espresso’s neck, though the effect was softened by the warmth currently blooming across his ears.

“You’re being awfully touchy,” he stated.

“You’re letting me be.”

Espresso’s ears reddened further, a betrayal he could not conceal. “…Touché,” he conceded under his breath.

Madeleine lifted his head slightly, though his hands did not retreat. Instead, he leaned just enough to peer over Espresso’s shoulder at the notes spread across the desk. His eyes tracked the neat rows of script with interest. A hum vibrated through the Knight's throat.

Espresso looked up. “What?”

Madeleine’s finger extended, hovering just above the page, careful not to touch it. “It appears you have written the same line twice.”

Espresso’s gaze snapped downward. Undeniably, it appears that he has…

“Your mind really has been elsewhere,” Madeleine probed thoughtfully. “What has gotten you so distracted, hm?”

The warmth at Espresso’s back intensified as Madeleine's lips nearly brushed the shell of his ear.

“Thinking about little ol’ me?”

Heat climbed quickly rapidly from his collar to the bridge of his nose, spreading outward until the tips of his ears burned hotter. Why am I acting so flustered today? Curse this man!

Espresso turned his head away, embarrassed would be an understatement of how he feels right now. “Don’t be absurd,” he muttered swiftly.

The warmth coercing his body retreated as Madeleine straightened up. “Oh?” he teased.

Espresso swallowed, eyes fixed stubbornly on the window to the far left. “Don’t let it get to your head,” he grumbled, knowing it already has.

A grin bloomed audibly in Madeleine’s voice. “Too late!”

The Knights hands suddenly slid to his hips, fingers locked on as they gripped and spun the chair around in a single fluid motion. The sudden movement pulled a startled sound from Espresso’s throat, indignation dissolving into surprise as he found himself facing his partner directly.

“Madeleine—”

He did not get to finish the reprimand as strong arms lifted him effortlessly from the chair. The unexpected shift in height and balance triggered instinct as Espresso’s hands flew to Madeleine’s shoulders, and his legs wrapped around his waist instinctively.

“—put me down!” he snapped, though the command fractured less severely as he adjusted to the closeness. “I am busy!”

“Busy thinking about me?” Madeleine countered, his hold secure as though Espresso weighed nothing at all.

The audacity.

“Oh you—”

Unable to find the right words, Espresso hand shot upward, fingers tangling and tugging on long, silky hair, causing Madeleine to let out an exaggerated “Owwwww!”

“I hope it hurt,” Espresso shot back, though they both knew that statement held no truth or malice. Carefully, the Knight lowered him back to the ground. Yet even when Espresso’s feet touched the carpeted floor, the knight’s broad palms remained splayed at his hips, unwilling to let go.

Espresso wouldn’t have moved them anyways.

Madeleine fixed his face to something more coaxing. “Come now, dear,” he pressed. “Settle down for the evening. You have done more than enough for one day.” His grip shifted subtly, less restraining. “After dinner, we can continue our game of chess, if that will entice you.”

Espresso folded his arms across his chest. “Please,” he replied dryly. “We both know I am going to win regardless.”

Madeleine rolled his eyes, though the fondness within the gesture adulterated any genuine annoyance. “Oh Ess,” he sighed. “You are far too confident sometimes.”

“That,” Espresso returned squarely, “is extraordinarily rich coming from you.”

A faint laugh escaped Madeleine. He finally relinquished one hip, lifting his hand instead to adjust Espresso’s glasses, which had indeed shifted slightly during their impromptu elevation. His fingers brushed the bridge of his nose gently. “There,” he mused.

The Paladin’s hand loitered for a moment before drifting down again, this time resting lightly at Espresso’s waist rather than gripping it.

“Nothing unpleasant, I hope?”

Espresso gave a slow blink. “What are you talking about?”

“Your thoughts,” Madeleine clarified. “About me.”

Before Espresso could respond, Madeleine’s hands shifted from his waist to the small of his back, drawing him closer with steady insistence, closing what little space remained between them until the line of their torsos aligned and the warmth of shared breath became inescapable. One hand slid upward along Espresso’s spine, fingers spreading between his shoulder blades.

“Were they unkind?” Madeleine asked softly.

Shamefully caught off guard, Espresso’s breath hitched. He had not anticipated any form of insecurity from a man such as Madeleine himself. Boastful, confident, charismatic Madeleine.

“No.”

Espresso shook his head quickly, as if to remove any lingering doubt. “No,” he repeated, more composed. “They were not unkind.”

And if anything, that had been the problem.

He became acutely aware of the palms displayed on his body, it was hard not to with the seemingly unconscious thumb tracing going on.

Clearing his throat softly, Espresso angled his body away, turning towards his desk. “You are making silly assumptions,” he stated, striving for detachment. “I was merely distracted. Nothing more.”

The Mage only took one step before Madeleine closed around his wrist. The contact halted him where he stood. “Tell me something,” Madeleine said quietly.

Espresso glanced down at the hand on his wrist before lifting his gaze to meet his partner’s eyes. There was no usual brilliance plastered on, instead replaced with exposure.

“If I were to kiss you right now…” Madeleine continued, his thumb brushing absent circles against Espresso’s pulse point, “…would you consider stepping out for the night?”

Espresso’s first and natural instinct was to dismiss such a thought. He had unfinished notes to revise afterall. However, when the Knight says it like that…

“That is doable.”

Somehow, what had started as a sweet, gentle kiss turned far too passionate.

Espresso’s hands, which had initially hovered uncertainly at Madeleine’s chest, slid upward. His fingers tangled into long hair, tugging impossibly light, earning a soft sigh from the other. That action drew them closer.

The Mage is beginning to think Madeleine might like his hair being pulled.

The Knight's hands traveled to the sides of his neck. His thumb rested just beneath Espresso’s ears. He tilted his head slightly, adjusting the angle, and that is when the kiss turned intense.

Despite himself, soft sound escaped him. A weak whine escaped his throat, emboldening Madeleine. The Paladin’s grip tightened as they kissed, his lips moving with profound confidence. And when his tongue pressed against Espresso’s mouth, he was greeted with parted lips.

The sensations were so good they were disorienting. His fingers curled more firmly in Madeleine’s hair, breath mingling as the kiss turned slower. All that time today spent note taking seemed pointless when compared with this.

Madeleine’s hands quickly moved from his neck, to his spine, before settling again at his waist. This time, Espresso did not object when his feet left the floor. Once again, his legs reacted instinctively, finding their place around Madeleine’s waist, arms tightening around his neck for balance. The new position did not diminish the kiss. If anything, the altered angle intensified it.

Before Espresso could register it, his back made contact with the cold surface of the study wall, there was only mere seconds before Madeleine’s body followed, keeping him braced there. The contrast between Madeleine’s warm mouth and the cold wall heightened every sensation. His breath came in little puffs, glasses skewed and fogged up, dark hair already disheveled from wandering fingers.

After what felt like forever, they pulled apart, solely for the need to breathe. They parted only enough to draw air, foreheads nearly touching, and their chest rising up and down rapidly.

By the time they reached the bedroom, whatever remained of their earlier restraint had disappeared entirely.

After some more kissing and some embarrassing confessions. The pair had found their way from the study to the bedroom, hands and lips refusing to be separated. At some point they had both laughed softly against each other when they nearly collided with the doorframe.

The bedroom was spacious enough for both of them. A large bed dominated the center of the room - dressed in dark, neatly pressed sheets that contrasted sharply with the pale wooden headboard carved with subtle patterns of the Divine Light. Two matching nightstands flanked either side, one stacked with a variety of books and a sturdy lamp, the other bearing a polished hand mirror. Heavy curtains framed a window, now drawn partially aside to reveal the moonlight glow. The room smelled faintly of coffee beans and fresh laundry, with a slight tint of something stronger - it was Madeleine's cologne, obviously.

The Knight guided them to the edge of the mattress. Espresso sank onto the bed, Madeleine followed instantly, bracing himself above him, hands planted on either side before gradually lowering his weight.

The mattress creaked when Madeleine leaned down, lips pressing kisses against Espresso’s neck. Each press of his mouth sent sparks of heat straight to the Mages head. The Knight moved his lips lower, then slightly higher, eager to get any reaction out of his partner.

Espresso’s hands found themselves resting on Madeleine’s shoulders, tightening when his mouth paused beneath his ear. “Wait,” he gasped out breathlessly.

Madeleine stopped his motions instantly, shifting himself to look at Espresso. “Are you okay?”

Espresso met his eyes, uncertainty plastering his face. “Are we really going to do this?” He quickly corrects himself before Madeleine could misinterpret his words. “I mean… do you also want this?” His hands loosened at Madeleine’s shoulders, though they did not fall away. “You aren’t just saying yes to satisfy me?”

The Paladin caught his breath before speaking, one hand leaving the mattress to cradle Espresso’s jaw. “Respectfully,” he began, something fragile moved behind his eyes, “you have no idea how long I’ve wanted this.”

Espresso studied the sincerity in his voice. “…Likewise,” he admitted, the word nearly lost beneath his breath. “Then why have we waited so long?”

Madeleine's face turned sheepish, all his confidence being stripped away. “I suppose,” he said slowly, eyes flicking away momentarily before returning, “I was just… shy.”

Espresso couldn’t help the grin that spread across his face. “You?” he repeated, nodding at him. “Shy?”

Madeleine puffed fondly at his words. He shook his head, and leaned down once again, claiming his mouth in a softer kiss than before, clearly trying to distract his partner from his reddening face. Wandering fingers brushed up underneath the fabric of Espresso’s shirt, heat surged through the Mage and the contact, startling him. The Knight broke the kiss, lifting his head just enough to search Espresso’s face. “Sorry,” he said. “Too fast?”

Espresso’s lips parted. “Not at all,” he replied quickly. “I just… well…” the admission was lodged in his throat, unable to squeak the words out. Slowly, he removed and folded his glasses, placing them on the bedside table next to the lamp.

To be candid, Espresso couldn’t see all too well without them, but he could see Madeleine’s features clearer than anything else in the room. The light illuminating from the lamp came out in a soft orange, highlighting the man in front of him. He looked angelic.

“I just…” Espresso tried again. “I’ve never done this before.”

Understanding dawned instantly across Madeleine’s face. “Ah,” he said softly, bringing a hand to brush away a stray lock of hair from his forehead. “That’s quite alright. Do you wish to continue?”

Espresso didn’t need to be told twice. With a single, decisive nod, he shifted slightly beneath Madeleine, steadying himself before acting. One of Madeleine’s hands still rested beneath the fabric of his shirt. Saving the Knight the trouble, Espresso started to undo the buttons on his shirt.

When the final button slipped free, and the fabric parted fully, exposing the smooth plane of his chest to the lamplight and the quiet spill of moonlight from the window. He did not look away.

“Have you?” he asked suddenly.

Madeleine blinked, unapologetically staring. “Hm?”

“Ever had sex?”

Bluntness had always been his preferred method of inquiry. “Yes,” Madeleine’s composure faltered in the most endearing way. “Years ago. When I was deep into my Knight training.”

Espresso realises he should have expected that answer. “…I see.”

Madeleine seemed to notice the change of mood. His hand began to shift into a simple caress on exposed skin.

“It’s not what you think,” he added softly. “I was never… romantically involved with any of them. I was simply exploring, per se.”

The faint tension in his shoulders eased at the touch. He moved his own hands to reciprocate the gesture, slipping his fingers beneath Madeleine’s own shirt. The Knight’s body heat was pleasantly warm, perhaps from all the muscle he sports. He curled his fingers lightly into the material, drawing him closer by mere inches.

“How scandalous,” Espresso remarked, seizing the opportunity. “Engaging in such… questionable behavior. Under the watchful gaze of the Divine Light.”

Instead of falling for the bait, Madeleine efficiently sits up and strips off his own shirt, tossing it uncharacteristically carelessly to the foot of the bed. Espresso purses his lips, taking in the sight of Madeleine's bare torso - it’s nothing he hasn’t seen before. The man sleeps shirtless almost every night. But in this scenario, it’s different…

Noticing Espresso getting lost in thought, Madeleine leans down to capture his partner in a mouth in a deep kiss. Espresso sighs contently into it, his hands coming up to tangle in Madeleine's hair, now knowing he probably likes it. The friction of their bare chests against each other is mouth-watering, and Madeleine can feel Espresso's heart pounding against him.

Madeleine pulls back when cold air hits his exposed skin, he looks out the window, somehow only now just noticing the sun has fully set. The bedside lamp is a bright one afterall. He glances back at Espresso. "Is this okay for you?" he asks softly, nodding towards the lamp. "Or would you like the big light on?"

Espresso shakes his head, still blushing. "No, this is fine," he says, voice breathy. Madeleine seems pleased. He leans down again, this time nuzzling into the crook of Espresso's neck. He inhales deeply, taking in his scent of soap, slight sweat and freshly brewed coffee. His tongue darts out, licking a stripe up Espresso's throat.

The Mage gasps, hips bucking up involuntarily at the contact. The friction of their boxer-clad erections rubbing together sends a jolt of pleasure through them both, and they moan simultaneously.

Madeleine slowly rocks his hips down to meet Espresso's upward thrusts. He continues to lavish attention on Espresso's neck, nibbling and sucking. Usually, the Mage would playfully push him off when he’d normally do this to tease Espresso, saying that he was ticklish. But obviously now, in the heat of this moment, all that ticklish feeling has turned to something more pleasurable.

Espresso's legs come up to wrap around Madeleine's waist, heels digging into his lower back. The change in angle allows their cocks to rub together even more firmly, and Espresso whimpers are music to Madeleine’s ears.

With a surge of confidence, Madeleine picks up the pace of his thrusts. He can feel the heat building between them, and can sense that they're both, admittedly, approaching their peaks.

Not wanting to climax like this, the Knight stops his movements all together, much to his partner's dismay. He slips a thumb into the waistline of Espresso’s boxers, looking at him for the green light, when the Mage gives him it, he quickly strips them both out of their boxers.

They both gasp softly as cold envelops their fully exposed bodies. But the cold doesn’t last for long as Madeleine wraps a large hand around both their cocks, he strokes, and Espresso's back arches slightly, furthermore, he moans when a thumb is swirled around the head to gather the leaking precum.

For Espresso, this position is far too stimulating, with Madeleine’s hot and sweaty body over him. He lets out a low groan, his body trembling as he grips Madeleine’s biceps tightly. The sensation of their slick and their sweaty skin sliding against each other is just too much to bear - each thrust of Madeleine’s hand sends jolts of pleasure ricocheting through Espresso's core.

"Wait," Espresso gasps out, voice strained. "Stop... I need... need a second..."

Madeleine immediately halts, concern etched on his face. "Ah, sorry," he panted, tenderly brushing sweat-soaked hair off Espresso's forehead. "Are you alright? I didn't mean to-"

"No, no," Espresso cuts him off, shaking his head. "It just... feels really good. As in, way too good.”

The Knight seems to understand what Espresso was trying to say. He didn’t want to finish just yet, much like himself prior. He strokes his hands up and down Espresso's sides in soothing circles, waiting patiently for him to collect himself. The Mage takes a deep breath, centering himself.

After a few short moments, Espresso begins to feel a bit steadier. He sits up on his elbows, looking up at Madeleine's longing gaze. "Okay," he says quietly. "I'm ready. But maybe we could switch positions?” He asked timidly. “This position is far too intense…"

Madeleine's eyes light up at the suggestion. "Oh, absolutely," he purrs. "I'd be more than happy to have you on top of me.”

Espresso flushes harder at the words, but he can't deny that the thought is incredibly appealing. With a shaky breath, he braces his hands on Madeleine's chest and begins to push himself up.

Madeleine assists him, easily flipping their positions so that he's now lying on his back with Espresso straddling his waist. Espresso takes a moment to steady himself, gazing down at Madeleine with lust-filled eyes.

Espresso runs his hands over the expanse of Madeleine's chest. Madeleine whines softly at the predatory gleam in Espresso's eyes, desire sparking through him as his partner eyes him down. It’s clear to Madeleine that Espresso has never wanted something more than at this very moment. And it’s incredibly arousing.

The Mage rocks his hips experimentally, groaning at the friction of their cocks rubbing together. He does it again, picking up speed as he begins to grind down against Madeleine.

The Paladin’s hands come up to grip Espresso's hips, fingers digging in as Espresso’s movements get more desperate. "Yes," he hisses through gritted teeth. "Just like that, Ess. Oh my Divine..."

Espresso moans in response, head falling back as he loses himself in the sensation. He's never felt such pleasure before - and the knowledge that he’s the one bringing Madeleine with the same immense pleasure is dizzying.

As he continues to grind down, Espresso decides to test his little theory. He tangles one hand in Madeleine’s hair, tugging down sharply. The former cries out, the sharp sting mingling with pleasure coursing through his veins and sending him even closer to the edge.

"Haah!," he gasps out, half-lidded eyes flying open to meet Espresso’s heated gaze. "Keep doing that… please…"

Espresso obliges, continuing to pull and twist Madeleine’s hair as he grinds against him. The added stimulation is almost too much for Madeleine to handle - and he can feel his orgasm building rapidly.

In the few short seconds that followed, Espresso comes hard with a strangled cry, his release painting their stomachs as he moans in ecstasy. The sight of Espresso lost to his pleasure is enough to send Madeleine teetering over the edge as well - with a guttural moan, he follows Espresso into bliss, his own orgasm ripping through him relentlessly.

The Mage collapses onto Madeleine's chest, both of them panting heavily as they struggle to catch their breath. Espresso's hands tremble slightly as he braces them against Madeleine's heaving chest. Madeleine, meanwhile, has one arm slung over his forehead, the other wrapped tightly around Espresso's waist. He's still trying to process the intensity of his orgasm.

As they lay there, catching their breath, Espresso begins to rock his hips almost subconsciously. The movement causes their sensitive tips to rub together, the friction just enough to send jolts of pleasure zinging through both their overstimulated bodies.

Madeleine tenses beneath him, hands tightening on Espresso's hips as he lets out a strangled cry. "Ahh," he gasps out, voice ragged. "Espresso... too much..."

After finally catching his breath, Madeleine, ever the attentive partner, notices Espresso squirming beneath him with unmistakable eagerness. With a gentle roll of his hips, he flips them over so that Espresso is once again lying on his back. Espresso's chest rises and falls rapidly with each shallow breath, his skin flushed and damp.

Madeleine takes a moment to drink in the sight of him, spread out beneath him - chest heaving, cock hardened again and leaking against his belly. He looks absolutely fucked out... and Madeleine can't wait to make him look even more rakish. He leans down against his partner's ear, asking if he’s ready and wants to go further. When he gets his breathless answer, Madeleine sets himself between Espresso’s quivering thighs. He takes a moment to admire the sight before leaning in to press open-mouthed kisses along Espresso's inner thighs, working his way slowly upwards. Once he gets to the Mages chest, he snakes an arm beneath his back, lifting his hips up. Getting the hint, Espresso wraps his legs around Madeleine’s waist, with his hands resting on his shoulder blades.

Madeleine can’t wait to feel him stretched around his cock… but first, he needs to prepare him properly.

The Knight uses his spare hand to suck his own fingers wet, swirling his tongue around the digits until they're slick with saliva. He knows it’s not the best substitute for lube, but knowing they don’t have any in the house, and aching to make his partner feel good, it’ll have to do.

Slowly, he begins to circle the tight hole with a finger, feeling it clench and flutter beneath his touch. He murmurs soothing words to Espresso, pressing kisses up his neck to distract him. Espresso moans softly beneath him, head falling down against the Knights shoulder as he pushes down against the digit. He gasps at the intrusion and grips onto the back of Madeleine’s scalp. The Paladin hums as he feels Espresso tense up at the unfamiliar sensation, quickly easing off until he's just barely inside.

Madeleine soothes the other, murmuring soft praises which in any other scenario, would’ve embarrassed Espresso. He waits until he feels Espresso relax slightly before pushing forward again, slowly working his finger deeper until it's fully inside. He gives him a moment to adjust before pulling back slightly, setting up a gentle rhythm as he scissors the digit. The Knight takes his time preparing Espresso, wanting to make sure he's fully ready for what's to come. He pulls back just enough to watch his partner's face, searching for any signs of discomfort.

After adding the third and final finger, he feels him starting to relax more fully, deeming Espresso stretched enough. Gently, Madeleine pulls his fingers free, he wants their first time having penetrative sex to be something special - something that the Mage will remember. And so, instead of simply flipping Espresso over and taking him from behind like some sort of animal, he decides to switch things up a bit…

“Ohh… ngh.. haah!”

The moon was still out, shining bright in the night sky with all the stars twinkling beautifully around it. A vast difference to what it was shining down onto.

Espresso and Madeleine had lost count after maybe the third round, and it was then they both realised the Mages stamina and sex-drive was years beyond the Knights.

As Espresso sank down onto Madeleine’s cock for most likely the fourth time tonight, he couldn’t ignore the shift in the way Madeleine’s thrust had grown weaker, his breaths more laboured, while Espresso was much more fiercer.

They had been in the same position for all those rounds due to Madeleine’s request, with Espresso straddling his hips, his thighs flexing as he rode with persistent energy. Madeleine lay beneath, chest heaving, and his hands loosely gripping Espresso’s waist instead of the firm hold from earlier. Each downward plunge drew a deep, throaty moan from the Knight, his voice cracking into whimpers as the Mage rode him. Madeleine would gasp and throw his head back against the pillow, whining his lover's name. His cock twitched weakly within the heat, still hard but pulsing with the strain of being overused.

Espresso’s stamina surprised even him - dare even say impressed him. His high sex-drive pushing him on, hips snapping faster, chasing that building pressure in his core. He leaned forward, hands planted on Madeleine’s sweat-dampened chest, feeling the rapid thump of his lover's heart. Madeleine whimpered again, a soft, broken sound that vibrated through them both as Espresso lifted and slammed back down, his body trembling beneath the onslaught, muscles spent from the earlier rounds. Now, he was utterly drained, cock throbbing sensitively with each ride, his moans turning to pleading whines that only fueled Espresso’s pace.

The realization hit Espresso mid-thrust: his endurance outstripped Madeleine’s by far, this insatiable hunger leaving his partner wrecked and blissful. Madeleine’s fingers dug feebly into the Mages thighs, clinging as another whimper escaped his lips. Espresso’s own cock, rigid and leaking, hit against Madeleine’s stomach with every movement, the friction adding to the overload. Both their moans borderlining on sobs of overstimulation.

Finally, the coil in Espresso’s gut snapped. He cried out, body arching as he climaxed, his walls fluttered wildly around Mad's cock, milking it through the aftershocks, but Madeleine didn't follow this time - too spent and wrung out from the night's marathon. With a gentle, shaky hand, Madeleine reached up, easing Espresso off him carefully, his cock slipping free with a slick pop.

Espresso let himself fall back onto the mattress beside Madeleine. The sheets were warm, tangled, and definitely in urgent need for a clean. He simply stared up, chest rising and falling with a ring in his ears.

Madeleine was doing the same beside him, flushed and glowing. Safe to say he looked completely dazed.

“...Ah.”

The Mage dragged a hand over his face and then rubbed at one eye. “I…” He exhaled slowly, pushing himself up to shift closer. “I apologize.”

Madeleine made a faint hum sound in response. Espresso shyly hesitated before curling in, seeking warmth despite already being hot and steady, his forehead brushed Madeleine’s shoulder.

“I don’t quite know what came over me,” he admitted quietly. “That was… considerably less restrained than I intended.”

Madeleine let out a breathy laugh that almost dissolved into another pant. “Restrained?” he managed.

Espresso looked over. “You appear… overstimulated.”

The Knight tilted his head to rest his cheek on the mess of his partner's hair. “I love your observations.”

Espresso appeared guilty. “If I misjudged your limits—”

“No. No no no—”

Madeleine sat upright, the room tilting as he did so, blinking hard, he planted one hand into the mattress for balance while the other reached - stretching across Espresso’s chest and over the edge of the bed. He fumbled until they caught the edge of the extra blanket that had long since slipped to the floor. With a shaky but triumphant huff, he dragged it up and over them both, tossing it loosely across their tangled legs.

The Knight settled back down beside him, still flushed and panting lightly. “Don’t apologize. I believe I am… seeing stars.”

Espresso huffed a laugh. “Is that so?”

“I’m serious.” Madeleine gave a weak laugh, eyes half-lidded. “The ceiling has not stopped spinning.”

Espresso adjusted the blanket more properly around them, tucking it in at Madeleine’s side with careful hands. “…I will moderate myself next time.”

Madeleine turned his head to press a kiss to the tip of his nose, not missing the chance to tease him.

“Already planning next time, hm?”
