The Adventure Begins

Summary:

This story is inspired by, and could be considered an Omake of, "Harry Potter Witch" by Silverfawkes, on FFN.
I attempted to "Gift" this to SIlverfawkes, but the author does not accept gifts.

It isn't absolutely necessary to read "Harry Potter Witch" first, but I would strongly recommend it.
After a life time in which Harry had suffered more than any human should have to, good things which have started, continue, and improve.

Work Text:

It wasn't anything like King's Cross this time. In fact it looked quite a lot like the family room of the oversized farmhouse Harry had had built on his farm, where he raised Teddy.

Oh, correction, her farm, since that was after the failed assassination attempt had turned Harry Potter into a witch. A physically complete and fully functioning witch.

Teddy was grown and married with children of his own, and his first grandchild on the way.

Normally Harry would have several decades more life expectancy, but she had died peacefully, in bed, of "natural causes", or for a witch was that automatically "supernatural causes"?

She had remained "Harry Potter" to the public, though she signed herself Harry Iverson, quite proudly. She had married Ike, an American squib with enough love in his heart to fill even the empty cisterns of one Harry Potter, the boy/girl who craved love as addicts crave their fix.

Ike had passed only a few months before she did, and an honest death certificate would have listed "a broken heart", she had no desire to live without him.

For some reason, she and Ike had never been able to have children of their own, so none were left behind to grieve them. No Healer could find any medical cause and it certainly wasn't for lack of trying.

There was quite a crowd filling the largest room in that house, which seemed to have been expanded quite a bit to accommodate the crowd. There were lots of Potters, most of which Harry knew from paintings or the Mirror at Hogwarts, or both.

Her parents, Lily and James, stood beaming at her, and a teenaged girl whom she suddenly realized must be Iris, the baby sister she never got to have in life, stood there too.

Beside James and Lily stood Hermione, not a day older than the day the assassination had struck them all down. The girl Harry would have married, had he not been potioned away from her to fit evil people's plans. Ron was missing, as it had turned out he was one of the evil people with a plan.

Beside Hermione stood Ike, looking the age they first met, when Harry had fallen on top of him.

After the immediate hugs, she shyly introduced Ike and Hermione to her parents as her two soul-mates. When Hermione had been snatched away from him/her, Fate itself had found the only other perfect match on Earth for Harry, in a squib history teacher from the American west, and bent the fabric of reality until they had met, and married.

Harry's period of 'experimentation', after her involuntary sex change, had proven she was more than "bi" enough to have a witch as a lover, and now she had both of her soul-mates at once, together.

Lily had whispered in her ear that no one on the plane they inhabited, would have anything negative to say about her troika. Hence the obvious absence of Molly.

Ike and Hermione both smiled at her, with smiles that promised that, for the rest of eternity, Harry would be the boy/girl-who-loved-and-was-loved.
