Work Text:
A long time has passed, yet Lava’s skin still burns at Wave’s touch.
And he likes that. A lot.
He cups Davin’s face, one hand sliding down to the younger man’s neck, squeezing just a little—and he smiles.
“Prince…”
The smile drops instantly. His expression hardens as he steps back, away from Lava’s touch.
“You’re forbidden from calling me that.”
Davin… Wave looks annoyed, and Lava barely resists smiling at the sight. He steps forward, matching the steps Wave takes back, closing the distance again. He catches him off guard and steals a kiss.
Wave pulls away and hits him in the chest.
“I’m serious, Lava.”
Lava nods. His hands move to the younger man’s waist, staying there as he feels Wave’s breathing grow more uneven.
“Wave, do you remember our first kiss?”
Lava remembers it perfectly. Even if it had been an impulsive move back then, meant only to tease him, it’s something that keeps replaying in his mind… because sometimes he imagines what might have happened if—
Right now, hidden away in this room, Lava feels the same thing again and wonders what Wave is feeling.
Wave doesn’t answer. Instead, his arms slip around Lava’s neck as he leans in, starting the kiss they’d both been waiting for since the moment they saw each other.
“Prince.”
Lava says it again, unable to help himself. Wave bites his lower lip in retaliation, and Lava can’t stop smiling against his mouth.
This time Lava steps back, feels the bed behind him, and falls onto it with Wave on top of him. He feels the other man press tightly against his body, and a curse slips from his lips.
Wave breaks the kiss, a thin strand of saliva stretching between them. They stare at each other, breathing hard, both smiling at the sight.
It’s been a long time since they last saw each other.
“You like teasing me,” Wave protests.
“I love it,” Lava admits.
Voices outside distract them for a moment.
“The party is just getting started, young Lava. Don’t you think you’re missing it?”
Now it’s Wave trying to tease him. The comment is meant to make him laugh, but Lava lingers too much on the words.
“She’s out there, isn’t she? Don’t you feel like you’re the one missing out?”
Wave’s expression falls immediately—far more serious than when Lava had called him Prince. It’s not just anger; there’s sadness, betrayal. He looks like he’s hurting more than Lava, and that almost makes Lava laugh with cruel amusement.
Wave gets up, and Lava stops him at once, suddenly terrified of losing him so soon.
“I’m not leaving.”
He says it as if he’s read his thoughts. Wave gently takes Lava’s wrists and moves them aside, but instead of pulling away, he leans over him again. Then he sits on Lava’s hips, letting all his weight settle against his body, pinning him to the bed.
Lava’s erection is more than happy to feel Wave like this.
Wave’s hands move to the hem of his shirt, slowly pulling it off, offering himself to Lava’s gaze.
“Seems I’m not pleasing you very well, young Lava.”
Lava smiles at the sound of it, and unable to resist any longer, he sits up to start another kiss—more desperate, full of saliva and soft moans.
Wave’s hands slide down to Lava’s shirt, undoing it without breaking the kiss. He’s skilled, quick, and finishes in seconds before pushing Lava back onto the bed. His mouth moves to Lava’s neck; Lava can barely process what’s happening.
“Prince.”
Wave bites into his neck in response, and Lava smiles, overwhelmed with pleasure. His hands slide down to Wave’s shorts—he’s grateful he wore something so easy to remove. He pushes them halfway down, and Wave finishes taking them off himself.
Lava does the same with his own shorts, and soon they’re both naked.
“Fuck.”
The curse slips out the moment Wave touches his erection. Lava’s head falls back, his teeth sinking into his lip as he groans.
Lava stops him before Wave can start stroking him. He rises and pins Wave down on the bed. Wave spreads his legs, welcoming him instantly. Lava rushes to kiss him again in this new position.
Wave’s hands move to the side, and Lava doesn’t pay attention until the kiss breaks. There’s a bottle of lubricant and condoms in front of him. He grabs them without waiting for instructions.
He pulls back slightly and opens the bottle, letting some—too much—spill onto his fingers, then more onto Wave. Wave props himself up to watch, but under Lava’s gaze, he sinks back onto the bed. His chest rises and falls—not from nerves, but anticipation—and Lava decides not to make him wait any longer.
He starts preparing Wave, listening to his moans as Wave brings a hand to his mouth, biting down on it. Lava wants to stop him. He wants everyone to hear how he’s fucking his prince…
Her, especially.
“Lava… Lava…”
Wave’s voice pulls him back. His skin is slick with sweat, and he looks like he’s suffering. Lava understands what he’s asking for.
He grabs the condom he left on the bed, opens it, rolls it on, then leans over Wave to kiss him before the final act.
He lifts his prince’s legs, one hand guiding himself to align with Wave’s entrance. Wave moans, words tumbling out incoherently as Lava begins to push in.
So warm. So tight.
He lets go of Wave’s legs, and Wave hooks them over his back, drawing him in deeper. Lava hisses at the sensation.
“Lava… I—”
Fear grips him at the sound of those words, so he kisses Wave again as he pulls back just enough to start thrusting. Wave is lost between the kiss and his moans.
Lava loses himself inside Wave—in the feeling of being one with him, in the thought that he wishes he could keep him forever.
His thrusts slow. He wants to slow time, stop it, make Wave choose him. He breaks the kiss, hands sliding to Wave’s neck, holding him firmly. Wave yields without resistance.
“Wave.”
Just one word. His name.
Wave cries out as he clings to Lava, his body tightening around him even more than before.
Lava bites into Wave’s shoulder as they come together.
The next day, Lava bids farewell to Prince Davin and his fiancée at the port.
He knows everyone’s eyes are on them, so he tries to ignore it.
He hugs Davin like any other friend, then bows slightly to his fiancée. She studies him for a moment, then smiles.
“We’ll return soon.”
Davin says it after a long speech about his visit to the island and tedious diplomatic matters. Lava focuses only on the red of his lips—and on how those lips had sucked him off that morning before returning to his marital chambers.
And as he watches the ship sail away, he ignores the sense of abandonment growing in his chest.
He hopes soon comes quickly.
