How it all started
You and steve harrington had always meant to be since you had been 5 years old.
Your mothers knew each others and you had seen him at nursery but you had not talked to him before the day that changed eveything.
you were in the playgorund tommy was messing up with jonathan byyer and you had pushed him off the swing and helped jonathan up as they had run away.
Steve stood there petrified looking at the scene
You got on the swing seating down and swinging as you noticed him
'you want to be pushed too?' You asked him eying him
'no' he simply replied looking at you as if he had just found a misterious creature
'then what you want?' You asked him not understanding
'be your friend?' He asked tentatively. You smiled from ear to ear and he did too
'yah! I'm y/n' you said jumping of the swing
'I'm steve' he told you. You took his hand and run to climb the castle
That day steve became your best friend, you were joined at the hip for the next 10 years
As soon as you reached highschool you grew apart from steve. You hanged out much less, he wanted popuality and later would admit he had been a d1ck. You were instead much less 'ambitious' on popualirty and focusing on your passions and on building a future
In those years you became friend with Jonathan (one year younger) and eddie (one year older) , you knew robin but you weren’t still friends, just chatting, she did not like you much for beign close with steve. (you would later discover she had a crush on you)
You knew the rest of the kids as by hanging around with joanthan you saw sometimes dustin and lucas and mike at byers house.
steve was nice with you when alone but instead at school he used to avoid you as the others, his so called ‘friends’, considered you a nerd or weird as you hanged out with Jonathan and eddie.
You hated it and steve hated it too that you were treated like this but he did not stood up for you until junior year (he apologized later but still it hurt). Still he tried to invite you over at parties etc but you knew what his friend though and did not want to go. But sometimes did as the day that Barb was taken
You drifted apart, especially when he started dating nancy. Steve did not date. Steve had fun with girls and then came back to you, you were his 'emotional' partner. And when he fell for nancy you discovered the hard truth.
You loved him, but you could never tell him. Your friendship was already strained. But then the upside down happened, Will got taken, Barb died, you disappeared, and that changed steve for good
'84 was the point of no return, he understood his mistake, he and nancy moved on. Demodogs almost killed you and him, pretenses dropped
And you two finally became what you were always meant to be: a couple

You are in a stolen camper with robin, nancy, eddie, dustin, max , lucas and erica when you drop the truth on steve
Steve is driving you are shotgun , as he talks about his van dream
‘ when I pictured that dream and then starting dreaming of it at night. You were there, you always have been there. Because in that dream I saw you, it had always been you, that is how I realized I was in love with you. Because I kept having that dream and in the time the person I pictured next to me from someone without a face or the actress I was in fixation in that moment it slowly became you. it didn’t matter if I was dating someone else of If I was believing we were just best friends, because I saw you with me and our kids, it has always been you. And I would not want anyone else in the seat next to me than you’ He says, your heart melts at his confession
‘I never pictured myself with kids, not after the example mine and yours parents gave us, but when I fell in love with you and I saw how you care for those six kids back in this van, the idea didn’t sound so bad, actually it sounded nice until that child was a mini-harrington’ you replied looking at him as his face turned into a awe
‘then one day we could make that dream true baby’ he replies ‘I would kiss you, but you know I’m driving’ he adds as you laugh
‘You know maybe that dream is not that far away’ you say shily and hosnelty scared. You discovered the truth three days before and have wondered how to tell Steve. Witj this vecna thing you almost forgotten jt, too focused on saving Max
‘What do you mean?’ steve asks you as he keeps driving
‘the day after our engagment, The day Dustin entered in the family video searching for eddie, that morning I had discovered something.’ You say fidgeting with your hands
he hums prompting you to continue
‘ You remember when we were at movie night with robin two weeks ago and the next day I threw up?’
‘Of curse robin sucks at cooking’ steve replies as he takes a turn
‘ well it wasn’t that..’ you reply as realization does not hit him
‘and then what was it?’ he asks still oblivious
‘steve…’ you say looking at him, he looks at you too
‘What?’ he asks still not understanding as you give him the come on look ‘almost two months ago after our date night you remember that I told you afterwards I thought I felt something and you said not to worry as we used protection as always and it must have been just a feeling? Well I think the dam thing had broken’
‘ohh’ he says as wheels start turn in his mind ‘OHHHH’ he repeats as you see realization slowly creeping on him
‘Are you serious?’ he asks eyes wide looking at you while trying to drive safely
‘I am.’ You reply nodding
‘We are starting the Harrington brood?’ he asks in disbelief and excitement as you have never seen him before
‘we are, four years before our original plan but we are’ you say nodding, he smiles as he had never smiled before and then he lets out a happy laugh and you can do nothing but laugh at his happiness
He goes forwards to kiss you ‘steve! You are driving!’ you tell him and he realizes that and goes back to it mumbling a ‘sorry you are right’
‘I can’t believe it, I’m going to be a dad’ he continues giggling happy ‘how are you feeling? How is the baby feeling? Oh my god we put them in danger!’ he says his mind traveling miles
‘I’m fine, the baby I’m sure is fine, I mean they are so small still’ you reply as he gives a breath of relief ‘I’m a bit scared honestly, you aren’t?’ you ask him
‘well yes and no. I love you, you love me, we had planned this for the future but Well we had a lot of practice with those six back there. So we are going to be just fine even if its before your perfect life schedule’ he says sincerely
‘You are right, but You are crazy if you think I’ll give you six kids’ you tell him eyeing him
‘One is enough no worries. for now’ he replies ‘I don’t care I need to kiss you’ he says as he suddenly stops on the side of the road abruptly as you lean towards him he takes your face in his hands and gives you a passionate kiss as you both smile through it
‘what the hell steve!’ dustin shouts at him as the others had almost fallen from their seats at the abrupt stop,
steve turns with the greatest grin ever and shouts smiling and excited to the rest of the gang in the back of the van ‘I’m going to be a dad!’ as you smile next to him
‘What?!?’ the kids behind and nancy and robin and eddie shout in shock looking between you two, as robin’s map falls from her hands, max and lucas go wide eyes and dustin’s jaw is on the floor while nancy looks between you two and eddie is kind of freaked
‘I knocked y/n up!’ he replies cheering like an idiot thinking they had not understood it instead they were just in shock
‘steve!’ the others shouts in disbelief and seriousness as You just laugh shaking your head at the picture in front of you.

Spring '86
When the fight with venca happened you were with max and lucas, steve did not want you on the front line as you were pregnant
'you stay and protect max and our baby okay?' he begged you, your head in his hands as he kissed forehead goodbye
'be careful, please' you begged back. He nodded before kissing you and disappearing in the upside down
when the douchabags of hwkins high arrived they striked you, you fell through the house hitting your head. you layed unconscius, head bleeding on the pavement as vecna took max
It was miracle you did not die or loose the baby because of the concussion but you brought your guilt with you. You had failed to save Max who was like a little sister to you
When You woke up in the hospital Steve was next to you holding your hand. You woke in panic
‘Im here. im here. you are okay’ he tried calming you, his touch steady as it grounded you
‘You are okay sweetheart, you are okay , and our baby is okay too. you had a concussion’ he explained to you caressing your face with a sad smile
‘Where is max?’ You asked
Steve's eyes lowered
‘She is alive but In a coma’ he told you
Your heart broke
‘No, no I should have protected her - I should have’ you cry shaking your head
‘Sweetheart it’s a miracle you and our baby are okay. Max will wake up, she is strong, like you’
He told you kissing your head as you cried
‘Dustin ? Robin. ? Eddie?’ You asked wiping yoir tears
‘ they are fine’ Steve said swallowing hard
But you knew him, better than you know yourself
‘You are not telling me something. I know you steve harrington’
He swallowed hard, he could not lie to you even if it was to protect you from further stress that could harm the baby
‘Eddie di not make it’ he told you swallowing hard.
You started sobbing, Eddie had been yoir friend for years. Not as close as Jonathan but you knew him well. He did not deserve this
‘No , no!’ You cried shaking yoir head
As you sobbed steve held you on the hospital bed
'shhh is going to be okay. I got you honey, both of you' he told you caressing your hair as he held you sobbing in his chest

The in between: Sping '86 – Fall '87
After the fight with vecna and the heartquake Steve’s and yours parents were locked out of Hakwins as had been out at that time so were not allowed back in, not much that either cared.
You then officially moved in with steve living in his house. Although you had been basically doing so for months. And depsite all that was happening around you, max in coma, the military and Dustin’s rage thise were amazing months. Steve was overbearing but out of love
Steve built the nursery immediately, jonathan your best frined helping him as you had forced him to, to make them bond and bury their incomprehensions
Steve insisted on getting married as he had proposed to you the day before you had found out you were pregnat, but you wanted to wait as you wanted Max to be present. You felt so guilty, you had a baby on the way but the world was ending and the girl whch was basiclaly your little sister was almost dead.
Steve found a job with Robin at the radio station, a cover up for also the activites of the crawl. You were not allowed to go back to univrsity as hawkins was quarantined. so you started taking care of the Harrington businesses in town, Steve's parent had known you all your life and considered you better thna their own son in this matters, so they agreed.
The rest of the days you helped at the station as you and steve parented 50/50. And life was good, apart from max in the hospital you had all you needed
7 months later your baby was born, between your screams and steve's tears, and Vicky helping the nurse while Robin rumbled as she had a crush on her, and in all of this
Alex Bonnie Harrington came into this world.
Steve cried. You shouted to Robin to shut up and to Steve that he was not getting you to do this other five times. The pain all stopped when they placed your daughter in your arms
The world was still ending but you and steve did not care. Alex Bonnie Harrington was perfect and made Steve the happiest man alive
you wanted her name to resembles Max's, and Bonnie came from Bonnie Tyler who sand 'holding out for a hero'. Yours and steve first official date was 'Footloose' and you told him when he was fighting demo dogs in the park trail that song played in your head.
Your daughter was happy and healthy as you juggled life in Hawkins Still the upside down was still active and you could not get away the idea that it was coming for you as it had done in 1983. You could not even leave Hawksins with your family
paranoia corrupted you that the upside down was coming for your little girl as it had come for you. So you focused on the crawls and saving max
You had to get rid of vecna no matter the cost, for hawkins, your friends, steve and your daughter
