All of you, All of me (Intertwined)

Summary:

Katsuki Bakugou moves in with the love of his life, proposes marriage, says 'I love you', and accidentally knocks her up. In that order.

Notes:

This was my first MHA ship. I missed them so much. It was so much fun writing about them again after years :D (that's why the taylor swift lyric title seems so fitting LOL) Idk if i'll ever write about them again. But have fun reading <3

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

They were standing in Ikea, for god sakes.

It wasn’t supposed to be this time consuming right? Picking out house decor so they could, and he quotes in his head, make the place feel more “homey”. More “theirs.” He didn’t get it though, it was already theirs. Always has been. But if she wanted to move things around and rearrange his very manly, cool home, She can. She absolutely fucking can.

“I think this looks nice, right? What do you think?” she said, holding up a very light pink colored picture frame. Katsuki just starred. This definitely wouldn’t go with the kind of vibe he had going on at home.

“Doesn’t matter what I think.” he says. It’s fucking hideous, he wants to say. Instead,he just looks at her big brown eyes. Everytime he looks at her, he forgets the exact color of it sometimes. So when she isn’t looking, he tries to picture it in his head, promptly failing.

“Kat.” she insists, in the sternest voice Ochako can muster.

“If you like it, I like it.” he says, like the perfect, practiced boyfriend that he is.

Bakugou Katsuki was not the asshole he used to be, (Not to her, at least. Gotta learn from your mistakes at some point right?), because after 6 months of steadily dating Ochako, he’d asked her to move in with him. If she wants to. If she would find it so agreeable to occupy the only space he’s always called his but was now willing to call theirs.

“I LOVE it.” she says, eyes gleaming as she carefully puts it into her cart, apparently very happy about turning their house into Barbie's dream house.

He was wrong. It was her house now. Katsuki did not know why he was deliberating so much on the terminology. It genuinely, honestly, truly did not matter. Because when he asked, she said yes without even thinking about it. Like without thinking about how far away her office would be or how much both their lives would change. For good though, if he wasn’t clear about it.

Katsuki pushed the cart full of items behind her as she strolled through the aisles. Thankfully it wasn’t too crowded and he could watch her fawn over ugly home decor in peace. In private.

“Should we get a new TV for the bedroom? I like having one in mine. It’s very weird that you don’t.” she said, just looking at the alarm clocks and lamps section.

“I don’t like watching TV.”  he said, shrugging simply. In truth he’d always been too busy for entertainment and social media. Hero work and running his own agency kept him busy.

“Oh then, we don’t have to-”

“But we can have one in our room. I’ll watch with you.” he said, in final judgment, just pretending to look through the things they’d picked up. He couldn’t afford to be subjected to her intense scrutiny right now.

“Really? You’re gonna start watching TV for me, such a romantic, Katsuki.” she said, rolling her eyes and he just snickered.

“Yeah, I’m gonna watch your stupid reality shows and everything. How’s that sound?” he said, putting his elbows on the cart’s handle.

“Splendid.” she smiled, kissing his cheek as she chuckled, gripping the zipper of his jacket.

“Did you get that from your new boss? He’s so fucking british, It’s crazy” he said, laughing at her, wrapping an arm around her.

“He’s not that British." she says defensively, pouting immediately. Her hair’s done up in this perfect, perfect, pony tail, and it’s his favorite color of brown and she’s wearing his sweatshirt from U.A  and her yoga pants. She was too pretty to be standing in Ikea shopping for furniture so she could move in with him. Katsuki, of all people.

“Don’t even try that shit, I’ve heard him say water on the phone” he said anyways, ignoring his pathetic inner monologue. Because when you’ve been a mean piece of shit all your life it’s hard to unlearn it all in 6 months. He’s trying though. But it always seems like he doesn’t have to because apparently that’s part of his “charm” she says. She fell for this guy, why would she want parts of him to change. The parts he desperately tries to screw open and mend, are the parts that should just be left alone. So maybe she can fix it, or some shit.

He gets a pillow thrown at his face for that little smart ass quip though. He deserved that.

While they wait to bill their things at the counter, Ochako just checks through everything in their cart.

“We have everything we need mostly.” she said, going over her mental checklist in her head as Katsuki just watched.

“Chako. Relax. We’re good. If we forget something we can always fucking come and get it. We don’t live that far.” he assured her.

“I like the sound of that.” she said, beaming up at him.

“The sound of what?” he asked, not really pretending to be dumb but actually losing his thread of thought when she smiled. It was going to be hard to carry on conversations like this.

“You know. When you said, We don’t live that far. I liked that. Now I can refer to our living in terms of, you know. We.” She explained, just leaning into his arm.

“Yeah? Isn’t that convenient. Nerd.” he said, laughing. He only ever laughed in her company. Isn’t that supposed to mean something?

“Shut up.” she said, but hypocritically kissed his cheek again. Rude. That’s not how you make someone shut up. But it works with him. Like a little incentive.

When it’s their turn to bill he loads their things onto the counter before he realizes something and just blinks.

“Wait. Roundface. You were holding onto that lamp you wanted. It was pink and purple or some shit and had some small cats on it.” he said, trying to describe it. He was floundering but she seemed to understand what he was saying.

“Yeah, I put it back.” she said, putting the other things on the counter. The cashier wordlessly billed their things. Katsuki starred in silence. It didn’t last very long.

“What the fuck? Why? You idiot, let me go get it, then.” He said, already ready to turn around and go find that lamp section even if it took him the whole night (It probably would, considering how big Ikea was.)

“You didn’t like it. And it’s our house, we should get things we both like.”

“Chako. I’m only going to say this once. You can get anything you want and you can put it anywhere you want. You can throw anything out. Even me.” he said, kissing her head. He didn’t like public acts of affection but it was necessary when his girlfriend was being an absolute idiot.

“Katsukiii, that’s so sweet. So I can throw your ugly couch out and buy a new one?” she asked, her eyes going all wide with the prospect of more changes.

“Yes.” he said, putting his hands in his pockets, trying to seem casual. There wasn’t a single casual thing about the way in which he would get on his knees and ask this girl to marry him right here. Nothing fucking casual about it. Yet, he pretends.

“And I can get my baby a cat tree?” she asked, intently. Her face scrunched up in full seriousness. He stifled a laugh. He hated that cat. The only good part about it was that everytime the cat came near him Ochako would take a million pictures of them together. It was her phone’s lock screen.

“Yeah. As long as she doesn’t come to our bed.” he said, smiling a little.

“I can kick you out?” she said, laughing. He was acutely aware of how insufferable he looked to the other people in the store and the cashier who was just judging them. He couldn’t find it in himself to care though.

“Yes. You can. You can do whatever you fucking want, Just do it at that house.” he says. He’s never said anything truer.

“Now go get your stupid ugly lamp.” he said and she shoots him a look that you wouldn’t call a glare in a million years but runs ahead to go get her lamp anyways.

Katsuki turned to the cashier to see her staring at him in disgust.

“Yeah, fuck you too. Start billing.” he said, crossing his arms.

They’re painting the walls on their own.

Katsuki wasn’t kidding when he gave her the reins to change everything and she took it upon herself to renovate most of the place. They’d made a couple of more trips to Ikea, pissed a few more onlookers off. It’s not his fault. He was in love. He just wishes he could say it though. Wishes his heart wasn’t stubborn enough to not let him word his feelings so he could just spit it out, instead of swallowing it down. He’s done enough of that for a lifetime. He wants to stop. Has to, if he intends on keeping this girl.

The girl who’s now covered in this pale beige paint that she said was supposed to make the room look brighter and give it life. Doesn’t need any fucking life, if you ask him. You could paint all the walls black, fill this place up with grim things and darkness and it’ll have life anyway. She’s the life in it. And she doesn’t even realize that. Yet. Katsuki will find a way to tell her one day. When he’s brave enough.

“This color looks like dog shit, I swear. Are you sure this is it? Don’t change your damn mind once we start painting it.” he said, checking the paint color after peeling new cans open. She’d already poured one all over herself when she was trying to take it off the shelf.

Stupid idiot. Didn’t need to do it on her own when he’d taken his whole day off to do this. Not like it was a big sacrifice anyway, he’s ready to do this his whole life. A day is just a ripple in that ocean.

“This is the color, Stop worrryinggg.” She says, dragging the word out. Katsuki just shakes his head in disappointment but grabs them both rollers and dips them in separate paint cans.

“Do you even know how to paint?” he asks, mockingly as he starts rolling it over the walls in perfect whips.

“Uh, No. Figured you’d just teach me.” she chuckles. Katsuki isn’t that surprised. He liked teaching her things.

“Or did you just figure I’d do it myself and you could sit pretty and watch?” he said, hard at work painting the wall. It was their bedroom wall and she didn’t want them to be gray anymore. Which was fair. Everything she said sounded fair, honestly. Sometimes he thinks he’s more pathetic than Deku.

“Wow, does Mr.Bakugou think I’m pretty?” she asks, just tickling his bare shoulders. He wasn’t wearing a shirt. He had to learn from her mistakes, he can’t afford to get paint on perfectly good clothing. (Plus, he liked flexing his muscles whenever he could. Sue him.)

He playfully, (very carefully, for all intended purposes) pushes her off him, in an attempt to look disgruntled when he was everything but.

“Dunno, you see me painting goddamn walls for any other wide-eyed girls?” he asks, still focussing his attention singularly on the horrendous walls. This house is going to look so bad, she might just be the best thing in it.

Ochako just blinks at him, he catches, and just smiles.

“No I haven’t. But was that a yes?” she asks, grabbing her own roller and trying to mimic what he was doing as best as she could. He knew she was a quick learner and she’d pick it up fast. Damn her fucking brain.

“Don’t ask me stupid questions.” he said, flicking her forehead.

“Shut up and get to work painting.” she said, her eyebrows scrunched up in a perfect arch as she concentrates or at least attempts to.

“Yes Ms. Uraraka.” Katsuki mutters dutifully. She just laughs.

“You never call me that name.”

“What?”

“You don’t use my last name.”

“We’re not on last name basis, why would I fucking call you Ms.Uraraka like i’m your fumbling assistant?” he asked, staring at her. Ochako shakes her head.

“No I mean, I call you Bakugou Katsuki sometimes and when people ask me your name I say your full name, you know. But you avoid my last name, I don’t know why though. Not like it’s, bad or anything though. I like Chako better anyway.” she explains, like Katsuki might have lost a few brain cells and needed an in depth analysis of why she thinks he Avoids Her Last Name (™).

Katsuki never thinks before he speaks. He bites down on his tongue and worries about the bleeding later. Because whatever comes after cannot hurt as bad as the biting, even if it was unwarranted for.

“That’s because I hate your last name,” he says. She just drops her jaw a little, for the dramatic effect he assumes. He doesn’t know why she’s surprised though he’s never hid that fact.

“What?! Why? It’s a perfectly good name.” she says, turning her attention to him fully. He inhales deeply and looks at her too.

“I don’t really fucking know. I don’t like that you have a different last name. I’d rather you just… take mine or something.” he says, without really thinking much about it.

Ochako stares, her eyes widening.

“I’m sorry, what?” she says, absolutely unhinged. Oh, shit. He said that out loud.

“Yeah. If you want to, you can. You fucking should, actually.” he says again, to drive the nail straight into the coffin.

Ochako keeps blinking, mouth agape before she breaks into laughter.

Holy shit. A guy imagines getting shot down, or being rejected but this was his actual worst nightmare. She was laughing at him, like this was all funny. It wasn’t funny, what the hell. He was starting to get angry just at the prospect of her thinking that his unconfessed stupid feelings could be the cause and effect of a badly landing joke. It can’t be.

“What, did I say something so disagreeable or-” he starts, puffing his chest out so he didn’t feel as small, basically but then she-

But she just puts her head onto his chest, wrapping her arms around his neck.

“I’m not laughing at you, Kat. I’m just thinking how it’s the most you thing to propose marriage before you’ve even said you know. That you love me.” she said, grinning wide.

Katsuki just stirs into realization, but still wasn’t happy about the whole thing.

“Not like you should fucking care anyway, since you just laughed right in my face.” he says, pretending to be shot down.

She could never shoot him down. He’d bring her the gun to shoot him instead, if she decided she was going to. Was that what kids called toxic these days? Anyways, he can’t really tell. He just knows she holds his heart in her hand like it’s fragile and special and says so much nice bullshit about him that sometimes he thinks he’s actually going to start believing them. Will just become that person she already thinks he is. And isn’t that the sweetest thing ever? He certainly thinks so, at least.

“Aw, come on. That wasn’t a no. When you do ask, for real. The next time, when we’re both ready, I promise I’ll say yes. Pinky promise.” she says, holding her pinky finger out. Katsuki feels like a kindergartener waiting for the love of his life that he met by the swingset to promise him she’ll come back right here tomorrow. And every other day, for as long as he’s here.

“Next time, you’ll say yes and won’t laugh in my face?” he says, making sure his heart was in the right hands.

“Yes sir.” she says and he just begrudgingly, (not really), reaches out his pinky to do the stupid promise. It hurts his masculinity and every single good thing he is to say that it actually helps.

“Next time, get a ring. And get on one knee.” she reprimands, side-eying him as she picks her roller up.

“Wow, so many fucking rules. You’re going to be an insufferable bride. People may just not attend the wedding baby.” he says, way too fondly. God, what made him like this?

“Shut up, you’re not going to want to invite anybody anyway” she tuts, like she knows it all. She does. God, she really really does.

“Yeah. I hate everyone.” he said simply, splashing more paint on the walls before smoothing over the bumps.

“Except me.” she clarifies. Like it even fucking needs clarification. It won’t be enough even if he whispers it to her every breath of this lifetime.

“Yeah, except you. I love you.” he says it all in one breath so he wouldn’t hesitate again. Doesn’t want to hesitate when he could just. Fall into her arms and hold her.

“Shit. You finally said it.” she muses in awe.

“Were you waiting for me to say it?”

“I mean, yes. But I already know. Like you said, you don’t go around painting walls with any other girl, do you?” she smiles, like he’s always been this obvious about loving her. He probably was. Everyone at school knew before he did. For fuck’s sake, even she knew before he did.

Katsuki loves Ochako, and it’s never been this easy to say anything before. Not for someone with his history.

“Better late than never.” he says, smiling at her.

“Took you long enough. Kept me waiting.” she pouts again. He used to want to wipe it off with a punch but not anymore. He wants to do better things now.

“I’m so fucking sorry. What a huge sin. How do I make up for this?” he says, tone laced with heavy sarcasm.

“Make up for lost time. Say it another few times. Maybe even kiss it better.” Ochako suggests just tiptoeing closer to him. He grabs her smaller wrist in his to drag her closer unceremoniously.

“I love you.” Katsuki says, for the second time.

“I love you, Katsuki.” she says and before she can even finish, he just mutters a hurried, I know, shut up, against her lips and just kisses her. Finally.

When he pulls away, she’s smiling. He’s pretty sure he is too, like an idiot.

“Speaking of getting on one’s knees” he murmurs, teasingly pulling at her skirt.

“Hey! Perv, we’re not done painting the walls yet.” she says. Not like neither of them were that focused. They’re definitely going to have to hire a guy to do this. Katsuki had done a decent job but Ochako’s side was a mess. That was going to need professional help to fix and make it look livable.

“Tell you what, we take a break. I’ll break your back and then you can rest while I break my back painting these shitty walls. Sound good?” he says.

“Well. Don’t have to tell me twice, come on.” she says, weaving her hand into his and pulls him away from the half finished walls. He’s probably going to get the paint on her clothes all over them both. Neither really seems to care right at the moment though. Much more important, ahem, affairs to get to.

 ★ ★ ★

Katsuki and Ochako had been living together for a year now. It was a severe understatement to say it might have been the best year of his life. They took little road trips and vacations whenever they could catch a break from work. Everyone at his agency was surprised at how often Katsuki utilized his time off nowadays. Guess love did cure his workaholism.

For once, his life wasn’t moving too fast. It was steady, in one place. Stable. He could come home from work to her every night and she’d always be here. They’d cook dinner together on days they weren’t too lazy to get takeout and they’d just. Talk.

Some days got a little hard when the pressure of work got on top of him, or whenever he smoked one too many cigarettes and he felt himself getting dragged back to his old ways. Ochako would always be there for him when he did but he’d always been too rough on himself. He hadn’t done enough decent acts to deserve the only good thing in his life but. He worked his way up with each passing day.

Right now, he walks into his penthouse apartment, slamming the door shut. He loved his job. He’d earned enough money from it and not to mention, he did come from wealth but he’d always wanted to be a hero, for as long as he could remember. The most special part was knowing Ochako shared this dream with him. She cared about the world, cared about saving people. She saved him.

He’s in a bad mood when he comes home. He just looks around for her before going to change out of his suit, knowing full well she wasn’t here. She didn’t get off work for another few hours. He pops open a cold beer, unscrewing the cap with his metal fingers and just sips.

It was always quiet when she wasn’t around. He didn’t invite many people over, but when they did. It was always Shitty hair or Deku, and the other girl who was Ochako’s friend from work. They were a pretty good fit in his and Ochako’s lives but Katsuki was greedy. He didn’t like watching her spend time with them when he would just quietly sit next to her. It’d be like that for a bit and then Shitty Hair or Sparky would do some stupid shit that would just distract him. And then it’ll go back to being just them two.

Katsuki sits on the couch, just reading the newspaper and then is just about to fire their X-box on, but the door swings open, without the keys turning. It’s Ochako and she’s dressed in some formal clothes for today. From what he could remember about her schedule, it was just meetings and paperwork today, no patrol. She was wearing a skirt up to her thighs and this collared white shirt. And some boots because it was rainy weather. She takes her glasses off, (she only wears them for her paperwork because she thinks she looks too much like a nerd otherwise) and then comes over to him.

Katsuki eagerly shoots up to greet her, wrapping one arm around her waist and kisses her.

“Hey. You’re home early.” he notices and she nods eagerly.

“I have something to show you. Very important.” she says, and Katsuki just tries to read the mood. He didn’t want to get excited about the wrong thing.

“Spit it out then.” he said, crossing his arms, waiting for what was coming next. Ochako seemed quieter. She was definitely talking about something serious but she seemed… unsure?

Katsuki had never before cared about discerning facial expressions. He was no mind reader and honestly, thank fuck for that. He did wish he could read her mind now though, because she was worrying on her bottom lip like her life depended on it and he hated seeing her stressed. Or whatever this was. She still smiled as bright as the fucking sun, at him.

She puts her girly briefcase on the couch and takes his hand instead.

“Come with me.” she says, taking the lead.

“Come where? he says but doesn’t voice out more complaints as she takes them out of their house and leads them down the stairs. She seemed to be in a hurry. Wonder why that was.

Katsuki follows her blindly as she just takes them to the apartment’s parking lot and begins walking them over to his motorcycle. Even from a distance he can see something ugly stuck to it, something that wasn’t there when he just parked his motorcycle after work.

He jogs up to it faster and reaches there before her as he examines the bumper sticker. It’s an ugly shade of yellow and written in big bold black were the words –

Baby on Board.

Ochako’s about to speak but Bakugou interrupts her.

“No, No, what the fuck! Who does this to somebody else’s Motorcycle, this isn’t fucking funny!” He speaks to nobody in particular, sounding more than a little pissed as he tries to scrape it off, sounds of metal scratching ringing through the empty basement.

“I just uh, found it like this. What do you think it means?” she says, trying to prompt a conversation.

Katsuki just shakes his head, too pissed for one, “I don’t fucking know, probably some teenage jerks thinking it’s some prank. I swear I’m gonna kick their asses!” he yelled again, leaning down on his knees and just looking at the hideous sticker.

“Well, maybe you shouldn’t because it wasn’t some teenage jerks, it was-”

And that’s when Katsuki notices. The parking lot was dark, and his motorcycle doesn’t really have an allotted space so he just parks it anywhere. He distinctly remembers not parking it next to Ochako’s car. And his motorcycle doesn’t have red highlights like this one does.

“Chako. Baby. You freaked me the fuck out, but this isn’t my motorcycle.” he said, just standing up and dusting his jeans off.

“Wait, what?” she says, freaking out now. Katsuki just raised an eyebrow.

“Yeah. Mine’s all black, Couldn’t see it right in the dark. This is some other asshole’s. Same model, same make. Impressive right?” he says but she’s not listening. She’s just staring at that abomination of a sticker.

“But I… I thought it was yours, who's is it then?” she asks, looking around.

Katsuki has never been more confused in his life. Why was she acting so weird and fidgety?

“What? Who fucking cares, let’s just go. Also who takes a baby on a motorcycle, that’s fucking nuts even for my standards.” he says, shaking his head, sitting atop his high horse judging this terrible terrible parent.

“Really? Do you think- Do you think you’d be a good parent?” she asks and Katsuki just squints.

“I’d sure as hell be better than this guy. Also why are we having this conversation in a badly lit parking lot baby, let’s go home.”

“I can’t leave it like this, ah, shit, what have I,- It looks exactly like yours!” she says, trying to scratch at the sticker like he was doing ten seconds ago.

What in the everloving fuck.

“Hey, hey!” he says, grabbing her wrists and pulling it away, making her look at him.

“Chako. What’s fucking going on?” he asks, just starring. They’ve done this song and dance enough, Katsuki hated being left in the dark.

“I just, I-”

“Chako.” he says again.

“It was my sticker. I was trying to stick it on your motorcycle, I think I was — trying to be funny, or something. To. To like, take the weight off the situation.” she says, vaguely.

“What? Your sticker? Why do you have a baby on board sticker?” he asks, incredibly, foolishly stupid.

“Because. Katsuki. You know.” she says, just looking up at him, her eyes turning glassy. Even in the dark, dingy parking lot, he could see it.

Oh.

Realization sets in waves. Ochako had a baby on board, so she tried to tell him like. Like this. Predictable of Ochako. What wasn’t predictable was this.

Katsuki’s eyes widen and for the first time in his life he was speechless. He’s fumbling for the words because he doesn’t know whether he should scream in excitement or cry in fear but he doesn’t do either and he just stands there looking, making Ochako worry about all this herself.

“I’m so sorry, I don’t– I don’t know why I thought this was uh, uhm, acceptable way to say it but. We’ve not been that careful lately and I just, didn’t mind and it was okay because it was you. I didn’t think it would happen.” she says and seems to be choking back a sob.

Katsuki’s black, cruel, filthy heart breaks for this. He doesn’t want her to cry. He wants to say something but before he can find the right words, (the perfect proper words because everything from now on has to be perfect), she starts speaking again.

“And I’ve been feeling tired and nauseous and I chalked it up to just the flu or something, but Kyoka asked me to just get a test. And I did at work, and I wanted to tell you.” she said.

Katsuki looked at her, carefully pushing a strand of her overgrown brown hair behind her ear. He smiled softly.

“Say something.” she says, nudging him, pulling at his collar.

He doesn't though. Katsuki was a firm believer in actions trumping words so he just pulls her in by her waist, leans down and kisses her, softly, pulling her impossibly closecloseclose.

“I love you.” he reminds her as he kisses her head.

“I know but,” she worries over her lip again. “What will we do?”

“Whatever you wanna do. Did you think about it?” he asks, patiently.

“I did and. We’re old enough for it, age wise. It’s just. Are we there yet?” she looks up at him.

“I’ll be here either way. Tell me what you want and I’ll do it. If you want us to raise this kid, I’ll fucking do that too.” he says, giving her a hug. Ochako looks like she needs one as she hugs him back, toying with the collar again.

“You will?” she asks, sniffling now.

“Spoiled brat, ‘course I will. You’re never getting rid of me that easily.” he says, just rubbing her back.

“Okay then. I want it. With you, I want to do this.” she says, always so strong willed, so determined. So brave. Everything that he wasn’t.

“Yeah? Want what baby?” he asks, because she hasn’t really said it yet. He wants to hear it coming from her mouth and then wants to kiss her right after to check if it tastes as sweet as it sounds.

(Will their kid be this sweet?)

“I want to have our baby, Katsuki” she says, with certainty. He grins, licking his teeth. That sounds like something he’d get used to.

Our apartment. Our room, Our cat, now Our baby. Seems like the right order of things if you asked him.

“Then we’ll do it, everyone else be damned.” he said, smiling, pulling her in for another kiss and this time ends up lifting her off the ground which had her giggling.

When her feet touch the ground he just looks at the pitiful motorcycle.

“Just to get shit straight, you did this to someone else’s motorcycle?” he asks, laughing a little at how her plan got side tracked in the worst way possible.

“Yeah.” she says, feeling a little attacked. To be fair, he was.

“I’m going to fucking laugh my ass off about this later but I’m going to get this sticker off first. There’s WD40 in the car, I’ll take care of it.” he said, kissing her cheek. She just smiles.

“That’s very convenient, thanks baby.” she says, giving him a quick hug and pulling away.

“You can go upstairs. Maybe get started on dinner.” he says and she nods. They were both starving. Plus, she was eating for two, so.

“I will, I will.” she says, just tugging at his jacket so he’d take it off. He does, without much nagging and just gives it to her so she can put it on. It was cold outside.

“Also, why didn’t you just stick it on our car, would’ve made so much more sense.” he says, laughing at her.

“Because I hate your motorcycle and didn’t care about ruining it with that ugly sticker.” she says.

He just smiled at her unabashedly. He wants to say his whole world revolves around that one apartment and her and now their soon to be baby, but he’ll find better times for it.

“I’m going to call Kyoka. And Izuku.” she says, all excited like a little kid as she waves to him and walks off.

Katsuki already knows the fuss they’d all make over this. Is it bad that it kind of makes him happy?

Katsuki and Ochako were sitting at the doctor’s waiting room, waiting for their first ultrasound appointment with a gynecologist (Deku had recommended this doctor after strenuous research on the topic) and they were certifiably nervous. Well, obviously, this was all very new.

It's been 15 weeks, 3 and a half months and they were a teensy bit late for their first ultrasound. They’d just been spending so much time soaking and reveling in the fact that we're having the baby itself that they’d kind of forgotten about everything and everyone else. They didn’t tell their parents until last month and the once a few of their close friends knew, the news started to spread like wildfire. The clock was ticking on the time that it’ll take for it to pop up in some gossip column of a magazine.

They were already being responsible though. They were clearing out their guest room for the baby to paint it into a nursery. Katsuki was being forced to sell his motorcycle and get a car that’s not a convertible so they could drop their baby at school.

Katsuki was worried though. He hated hospitals. Every time he came here someone he loved was getting fucked over. He’d broken several of his bones, his mom almost died in one and he had to frequent this place everytime a mission put one of his friends here. He hoped she was healthy enough for this. Hoped he hadn’t burdened her with something that could affect her physically.

“Kat, I can hear you worrying.”

“Like you aren’t.”

“Really? It’s a competition now?”

“Yes, and I fucking win.” he says, just pulling her closer, wrapping an arm around her. They were sitting in separate chairs so there’s only so much he could do, but he wished they were sitting on some bench so it was easier.

It’s easier to just let their anxiety stir than to talk about it. Certainly easier to just kiss and touch her instead of saying, I can’t lose you or this baby, I think it might kill me.

“I’m hungry.” she says and he springs to his step to go to the cafeteria and get her something to eat. And to drink. And something for the car ride. He didn’t even need to ask what she wanted anymore, he just knew.

“Don’t go anywhere.” he says and she just cackles.

“If I did , I wouldn't get too far.”

Ochako’s belly had distended significantly, even though they weren’t too far into the pregnancy yet. She was more tired, had more morning sickness and it wasn’t overall a great experience for her, he assumes. The whole thing seems like such a hassle.

When he came back with her favorite wrap and some gummy bears (Only the damned red ones, god), she was missing from her seat. He’s about to turn around and yell for her before the nurse just comes up to him.

“Mr. Bakugou? Your wife’s inside, she’s waiting for you. The doctor too.” she says and Katsuki wants to ask her not to assume things that weren’t true because Ochako Uraraka was not his wife but he didn’t want to correct her. Just wanted to pretend that he was her husband if they were making the assumptions anyway.

“Yeah.” he says, throat dry, trying to swallow around nothing. The white walls felt too restricting, ominous. Like something bad was waiting behind it. When he was let in, the room was dark and Ochako’s shirt was up and they were moving some wand probe thing over her belly. It looked like the doctor was pressing down a little because he could tell Ochako was not that comfortable. He just held her hand, kissing it, standing beside her.

“Is everything fine?” he asks, expecting nothing but yes, yes, it is. It has to be.

The doctor’s very concentrated, and seems to know what she’s doing. He kisses Ochako’s head and then looks at the monitor. He can’t make anything out clearly, the room wasn’t that bright but. He could hear it. He could hear the heartbeat.

The doctor smiles.

“Well, everything’s perfectly fine. You’re healthy, the baby’s healthy. Actually,” she says, with a coy smile. Seems like she was very practiced in delivering good news.

“You see how there’s 2 heads on the screen. This is one, and this is another.” she says, practiced and clinical.

Katsuki stupidly blinks. This is one and this is another, what the fuck.

“So, what does-”

“So that means —" They both began but the doctor just smiled. Probably thinks they’re a cute couple and loves the look of shock on their faces.

“Congratulations, it’s twins.” she says, writing something down on the clipboard after giving them a flashy smile.

“Oh.” Ochako says, because.

Katsuki gets it. It’s not like he’s not excited, it's just new, all over again. He pictured one kid, now there’ll be two. Twice the amount of kids they were expecting. The young couple just look at each other, and Ochako squeezes his hand tighter.

He didn’t like the doctor here, as much as she was helping. This was a private intimate moment in their lives that he felt like she was intruding. He wanted a minute alone and he was about to ask her to rudely step out but she spoke again, Holy hell, can’t take a hint.

“And, I can tell you the gender too, if you want to find out. You can keep it a mystery if you want, or we can just put it in a document and give it to a bakery if you want to make an event out of it.”

Ochako looks at him. He so desperately wants to talk to her but he just nods, giving her the go ahead. Whatever she wants, like always.

“We’d like to find out, so we can be prepared.” She says and Katsuki beams. Shit, she’s so perfect.

“That’s great! Once again, congratulations!” she smiles, “They’re both boys.” she announces with grounding assuredness.

Ochako’s lips twitch upward into a bright smile, her eyes shiny with tears. Katsuki just kisses her head.

“I’ll let you two have a moment alone. It’s a lot to take in.” She says, after cleaning off the gel on her belly, Ochako pulls her (Katsuki’s) hockey jersey down and just smiles all sweet at the doctor.

“Thank you doc.” she says and he just nods at her, waiting for the door to shut.

Ochako leans into him.

“2 boys. It’s going to be hard.” she says, sniffling already. She was so emotional these days. He wanted to just put her in his shirt pocket so nobody ever hurt her.

“Yeah. Let’s hope they don’t take after me.” he says, lightening the mood. Trying. Failing.

“Not funny. I’m worried.” she says, wiping her eyes.

“Tell me what you’re worried about.” he says, sitting on the doctor’s chair and rolling it closer.

“What if we don’t – what if we don’t like them?” she says, not a hint of joke in her tone. Katsuki tries not to laugh so he doesn’t offend her delicate sensibilities.

“That’s very , very stupid baby. They’re our kids, we’ll like em just fine. Besides, I don’t fucking know about you, but I like everything that’s inside you. If they come from you, I’ll love em.” he says, just wiping at her cheek.

“What if we can’t take care of them? What if we’re just, t-terrible?” she asks him, aggressively wiping at her eyes, He catches her wrists in his hands.

“What the fuck are you saying? You take care of everyone. You’re already a mom. We have nothing to worry about, okay? Let’s go home, I want to go home.” he says, kissing her forehead again, softly.

“I think you’re going to be a good dad.” she says, gripping his bicep, looking at him seriously.

He wipes her tears again.

“Yeah? You’re going to be a great mom.” he says. That seems to comfort her. She calms down and the sniffling stops.

“I don’t think we can stay at the apartment. It won’t fit us.” she says. Katsuki is inclined to agree to that.

“Yeah. We should get a house or some shit. With a yard, by the beach. Kids like to play, right?” he asks her. Just checks if he’s right.

“Yeah, they do. I like the beach.” she says, pleased with the prospect. He’s done something right today, he can rest easy.

“And I like you, but please let’s go home. I fucking hate it here.” he says, walking out with her and giving her the food he bought her.

On the drive home, Ochako calls Kyoka to tell her and Katsuki  just contemplates how his life ended up here. All domestic and sweet and soft and not just a comfortable home to come to, but with 3 other people who he’d call his whole life too. It seemed like too much.

 ★ ★ ★

It’s been a few weeks since they found out they were having twins. They were looking for a new place now, and trying to get their lives in order so they could do this right.

The doctor had given them meticulous orders to make sure the pregnancy went by without a hitch and Katsuki would make sure Ochako was fine like his life depended on it. It probably did.

They spent about a week researching baby names and landed on two. Two parents, two kids, so they figured they’d each name one kid.

Ochako chose “Kaito” which meant to fly or soar. Katsuki picked “Ryuji” which meant dragon. Pretty neat names.

They decided to call them Kai and Ryu and when they went out to buy baby things they bought them separately for each. Already started calling them Kai and Ryu.

While they were navigating through one of the most special times of their life, the people around Katsuki were on a special mission to piss him off. By reminding him how they’re not married, not even engaged, actually.

When you see a couple their age expecting a child, you’re bound to assume they’re married. So everyone just does. And then Katsuki gets so mad he could kill them so Ochako laughs nervously and explains they’re not. He hates it so much.

He wants them to be, but this was a bad time. Even if he asked today, he knew it’d take months to plan a fancy wedding, if she wanted that and she wouldn’t fit into the dress she’d want and he knew her enough to know this wouldn’t be how she wants it.

But If Katsuki waited 9 months, his sons would be here and he didn’t want them thinking their dad was a cowardly bastard who couldn’t even marry their sweet mom before they were here. Can’t afford any kind of room for thoughts like this. So he does have to do something about it.

Ochako’s waiting for him in the car right now while he’s getting them both ice cream after a huge mall run. They’d bought everything she wanted but she had to walk so much and she got tired. (He would’ve carried her right then right there, but Ochako was too prim and proper to handle the stares or the subsequent flash photography that would land them in the front page the very next day.)

He brings her the ice cream (bubblegum pink) and lets her eat it. He has to drive so he just gives his to her too. Ochako just looks at him, rubbing his hand. When they make eye contact, her eyes are just boring into his, questioningly.

“Uh, what do you-”

“Kat, are you upset?” she asks him before he can even say anything.

“What?! Why would I fucking be upset?” he asks, even though he was upset. Upset that he didn't have the opportunity to ask her what he wanted to ask her. But he didn’t want her to think she’d done something wrong.

“I don’t know, you look upset.” She says, drawing circles on his wrist, distracting him from driving.

“Pinky, I’m fine.  ‘M not upset.” he says.

“There, you’re mumbling, you are upset!” she says, like a detective having just figured out murder, and like it wasn’t just her boyfriend pouting about their non-existent marital status.

“I'm fine, I promise. You just made me walk 5 fucking floors, can’t a man be tired?” he asked, trying to avoid the whole thing.

A month after finding out that Ochako was pregnant, Katsuki went back home, spoke to his parents and had gotten their family’s ancestral engagement ring. It was passed down over generations of Bakugous. But if she didn’t like it, he’d gladly go out and get a new one that she would want.

Kyoka helped him get her ring size while she pretended they were going shopping for some other things. He got it resized at the jewelers, put it in a dark velvet pouch and it’s crammed into his wallet, right this very second. If he was this mad, he could propose right now.

“I know why you’re pissed. It’s because people keep asking us if we’re married.” she says, kissing his clothed shoulder as she holds his hand. He was driving, for god sakes.

“Ochako-”

“No, listen. Listen, I get why you feel obligated. All your gentlemanly duties and what not, but I ‘m not worried about what other people are thinking and you shouldn’t be either.”

Obligation? What Obligation, the fuck?

“What are you- I don’t give a flying fuck about any one else, you listen to me-”

“Hey, I’m not done, okay? Shhh.” she says, and has the audacity to slap his knee. Wow. A few years ago his hands would’ve sparked and he would’ve burnt someone for this. Now he just grunts and tries not to get on his knees and say marry me baby. He was so weak, goddammit.

“Fine.”

“I love you. There’s no rush. Our time will come. I can wait, I have no problem waiting. I don’t care what anyone else thinks.” she says, squeezing his hand in assurance.

Katsuki has had enough of this. He parks his car on the side of the road. It’s 2 pm, a random Thursday morning and it’s the middle of nowhere. There’s nobody on the streets and there’s an apple orchard in view. But he knows what he has to do.

“Why are you-”

“Get down.” he grits out, unlocking both their car doors and steps out, closing the door.

“Wait, what?” she says, still sitting inside.

“Outside, now.” he says, tapping his fingers on the car.

Katsuki is currently being very mean and volatile but she doesn’t look scared. As if she knows with every fiber of her being that he wouldn’t do anything to make her upset. Yeah, she was right. He wouldn’t.

She just gives him a challenging look and crosses her arms and walks to his side. He looks at her, and reaches for his pocket. He grabs his wallet, takes the familiar pouch out and then gets on one knee.

“Kat- I- What are you-”

“You said next time. Get a ring. And get on your knees. Here I am.” he says, taking his ring out. He just smirks at her because she lets out a gasp of surprise and cups her face in her hands and cries.

“I wanted to ask you when we could have a lavish wedding, cuz i figured you’d want something like that, and I could, fucking. Dance with you before the wedding toast before you get tired and nauseous. I can’t do that now, but marry me anyway. Come with me to city hall, wear your favorite clothes and just do it. Marry me.” he says.

She wipes her tears again, wiping at her nose.

“Marry you?” she asks, jokingly.

“Yeah, Marry me. Don’t make me ask a fourth fucking time, my knee hurts.” he smiles and she nods, before crying again, tears streaming down her already wet cheeks.

“Yeah. Yes, I’ll marry you.” she says, pulling him up to stand and kisses him. Katsuki smiles into the kisses, throwing the pouch away and just wraps his arm around her waist. He pulls off, feeling incredibly happy.

“Don’t even think for a second that you’re escaping a proper wedding. We’re doing that, when the twins are here.” She says, wiping her tears on his shirt. He just cackles.

“At least they’ll be in the photos right? Worked out well that way.” he says, kissing her again.

She wraps her arms around him, holding on. Katsuki carefully rubs her belly before pulling away.

“Are you happy?” he asks, because he has to make sure. It was his job, probably till the end of times at this point. Wants to keep her forever, wants it to be official.

“I haven’t even looked at the ring yet, that’s how happy I am.” she says. Katsuki smiles, nuzzling his head into her cheek.

“Look at it now. It’s the family ring.” he tells her, waiting for her reaction.

“Oh. Oh. You gave me your mom’s ring.” she looks up at him.

“Knew you’d like it.” he says, smirking cockily.

“You’re such an asshole.”

“Is that you wanna talk about your fiance in front of the boys?” he guilt trips her easily. She pouts easily too.

“I hate you.” she says, crossing her arms and just tries to get into the car. He goes behind her, grabbing her and slams the door shut, kissing her again. She giggles into his mouth as she fights his hands off playfully and he swears it’s the best thing he’s ever heard. Better than his son’s heartbeats.

They only start the car again when the police come badgering at them for having parked it in a no parking zone.

                          ★ ★ ★

The following week is full of new found joy. They’re engaged. They don’t really have the excitement of wedding planning upon them but they’ve got better things to look forward to. Katsuki spends his time doting and running after her and giving her impromptu kisses and it’s like they’re back to being 25 and stupidly dumb in love. They always have been, this just renewed it.

Then they picked a day, drove to city hall just the two of them. Ochako was wearing a pretty blue dress (the only dress that fit her at this time of pregnancy) and Katsuki put a nice suit on. It was an occasion, even if it was hurried.

Naturally, the people working there and the man who registered their marriage thought they were hurrying because of the pregnancy. They didn’t want people speaking, and other things. Maybe the first part was a little true, but the second hardly was. Katsuki would’ve bit peoples heads off if he sensed judgment any other day but today wasn’t that day. Today was about them. About her, mostly and how she said yes, and how she’d be his wife in like ten more minutes.

He stands there sweating through his black suit and his hair’s a mess from when she pulled on it to kiss him earlier but she looks absolutely stunning, a perfect angel, HIS perfect angel.

She stands there in front of him, smirking and gets on her tiptoes to kiss him while he just looks in awe like a sweaty idiot.

“Ready Kat?” she asks, giving him a sly smirk.

“Bring it.” he beams.

The “ceremony” happens. They exchange platinum bands and look into each other's eyes while the man recites some standard stuff. They’re allowed to say their vows to make it feel more special. Ochako has sheets she’s prepared but doesn’t even look at them. Just clutches them in her hands like a lifeline and says her vows.

“I promise to take care of you, love you and be here even when it’s difficult. I love you, and our sons. So much. You’re my favorite person and I.., I’m so grateful to have you. You take such good care of me and everything and I just. I love you.” she says, eyes glassy with tears, along with other things he doesn’t want to say. He wishes the register guy would just leave. He already paid everybody here a good chunk of money to keep their mouths shut about this. The public assumed they’d gotten hitched before the pregnancy in a private ceremony and he wanted to let them believe it. This was just for them and nobody else.

When it was his turn he just stared blinking before she nudged his jacket.

“Right, you’re just very fucking pretty. Thank you for saving me. And letting me be with you and the twins. You’re just… everything. My everything. I’ll take care of everything, as long as I’m here.” he says dramatically and just kisses her, interrupting the guy saying, you may kiss your wife. He hears it anyway, and smiles into the kiss.

He walks out of there after she stomps her foot and he buys her a bouquet. Pink lilies. They load into the car with their overnight bags packed and The shiny new Mr and Mrs. Bakugou drive to a five star hotel so they can have a makeshift honeymoon. (and a wedding night)

“Feeling hopeful because you are my wife, are you going to be Ochako Bakugou?” he asks as he slings an arm around her and walks them into reception, carrying both their bags in one hand.

“Ochako Bakugou. That does sound kind of cool. You do also hate my last name." She reminds him. He gags at the thought but shakes his head, going up to the reception and getting their hotel room key card. He puts a hand on her back and guides her to the elevators. He’s been here plenty of times before. They return to conversation again, naturally.

“Well. I just like my name better. Why, Don’t you?” he questions, raising an eyebrow. She’s wearing his suit jacket over her dress. She pulls it further onto her and puts her head into his neck when they’re in the elevator. Her hair tickles his neck.

“Kaaaaat,” she says, in the best rendition of his name he’s ever heard but still continues, “You’re a Bakugou, and the twins will be Bakugous. Then I want to be one too. Don’t want to be left out.” she says, feeling a little more vulnerable, today, of all days.

“You were a Bakugou the day you insulted me with my mom after I stepped out of line.” he laughs.

“Oh. Then I’ll just stay, Ochako Bakugou I’ll keep the name.” she says as the elevator takes its sweet time riding to the top. Katsuki cannot seem to care.

“Okay then Ochako Bakugou, let’s go, come on.” he says, as the doors open right on cue and he throws an arm around her, and walks them to the room, checking the number on the card. He opens it swiftly, throws their bags on the armchair and Ochako beats him by crowding him against the door and kissing him. Dammit.

Katsuki flips them, crowds her against the door as she leans into him for the kiss. She’s still wearing her navy blue heels and he doesn’t want to tug them off because even with the heels on there was a significant height difference. It just boosted his ego.

He’s already half hard from just having his tongue down her mouth and her arms around his neck. But she pulls away, breathlessly, her lip gloss smudged on his cheek and she wipes her mouth primly.

“It’s our wedding night. I need like 10 minutes to do something.” she whispers, like it’s a shared secret. Thank god. If she said it out loud he’d quickly pass out and then die.

Oh, then I’ll take a shower or some shit, Take your time.” he winks and kisses her again, cupping her jaw before letting go. He wants to hurry up and just grabs a towel and runs inside.

He runs the water hot and stands under it until his boner goes down (well, kinda. He didn’t want to blow it with 1 thrust, so this had to do.) He starts aggressively scrubbing at himself and goes to sink to shave his stubble and puts aftershave on himself. He sprays himself with cologne (the only one she likes), does something to his hair (he can never do it like she does it for him) and just puts his boxers and shorts on and walks outside.

He’s been in there about 15 minutes and when he comes out, his jaw drops a good few inches. Katsuki has to stitch it back onto his bones, at this point.

Ochako, his wife, his wife, his wife, is wearing lingerie. And it’s black, and it fits her perfectly and made with intricate lace patterns and looks very very hard to undo. It doesn’t matter honestly, he likes that it’ll take time to get to what’s under all this.

“Stop staring.” she says shyly, but she doesn’t look the least bit shy. Katsuki knows exactly how much her husband is drooling over how hot she is and she’s proud about it.

“Remind me fucking why, it’s for me, isn't it?” he says, stalking closer and closer and closer. He’s feeling ravenous, like he hasn’t felt in months. He licks his teeth.

“It is, what are you going to do about it?” she says teasingly, biting her lip.

Katsuki takes one more step and his walking wet dream and the love of his goddamn life, is an inch away from his eternally damned fingers and then —

And then –

The phone fucking rings. Sudden noises don't perturb Katsuki but Ochako had been on edge these days (motherly instincts) so she jerks and just takes in a deep breath. Katsuki’s hard on’s having a really hard time today.

“Terrible fucking timing.” he murmurs and Katsuki gets her phone off the night stand and gives it to her. It reads, “Izuku” with a broccoli emoji. Damn stupid nerd.

Katsuki grunts and sits on the bed and Ochako gives him an apologetic smile.

“Sorry baby, he’s calling this late, must be important. Just 5 minutes.”

“Just take it, dummy.” he says, lovingly and just looks at her as he watches her attend the call.

“Hey Izuku, listen, I’m a little— Oh. Oh, shit, really? So you’re going to– Oh my god. You might lose your job over this? Are you serious, that’s so – ugh, I’m so sorry. Yeah, yeah, I know. No, keep going —” she says and Katsuki isn’t listening to any of it but all he knows from Izuku’s face is that it’s probably important.

She makes a face at him and Katsuki waves his hand off as if to say it’s okay. She just smiles and continues talking, still in her lingerie and his dick physically hurts from watching her pace back and forth the room so he wordlessly makes her sit. To make his life a little easier. Her brown hair is in a ponytail with a few strands out and her makeup is redone. He can see it this up close.

“Yeah, yeah, No, I know. It’s fair. I get it. Did you try..” she keeps yapping and he just sits next to her on the bed, watching her. He feels a smile on his face because she’s smiling at him, running a hand through his hair, messing it up a little.

When there’s a break for her to stay quiet she leans in to kiss him and he kisses her back too, holding on to her cheek. But she has to pull away, as soon as she finds an opening to speak. Katsuki just rolls his eyes.

She gets comfortable on the bed and starts yawning mid conversation. It’s been 20 minutes now and it doesn’t look like Deku’s letting up anytime soon. He can hear sobbing from the other end. It makes no fucking sense, he should be the one sobbing after he ruined his wedding night with his goddess wife. So unfair, this world. But Ochako’s too good for the world, so she’s still on the call.

It goes on for a little while longer and Katsuki gives up hope that he’d fuck his wife tonight. Clearly Ochako does too because she’s promptly falling asleep ten seconds after Ochako hangs up. Not so much as a sorry to his poor dick. Katsuki can only laugh. She could never stay up very late, this was already way past both their bedtime’s.

He gently removes her heels not wanting to wake her and undoes the tight straps of the lingerie, pulling it off. He just sighs to himself. Katsuki was removing her lingerie but it’s not the way he expected he would be doing it tonight. It’s okay though, he’d take just about anything when it came to her.

He puts his T-shirt over her after digging it out of the bag, (granted, he didn’t have clothes for tomorrow but, still), and kissed her forehead for good measure. Katsuki put the phone away, turned the lights off and goes to bed right next to her, holding her hand.

They had the hotel for another day, so. Maybe tomorrow he’d have some luck.

(Katsuki fell asleep thanking god for making him the luckiest man alive.)
