Agatha

“Lilia, what am I going to do?” Agatha groans.

Lilia points a spoon at her all the way from the kitchen as she makes her afternoon tea, “I already told you Agatha, you’re more than welcome to take the couch if worse comes to play.”

Agatha stares straight ahead in order to hide the scowl that forms in her face at the idea of sleeping on Lilia's couch. A couch that stands next to Lilia’s psychic table for one of her many random side jobs. “I couldn’t… I’ll figure something out soon enough.”

Agatha was in her second year of grad school for her English program at Westview College and losing her job two weeks ago as a receptionist at the elementary school five blocks away from her was not how she thought the year would go. Barely being able to afford rent with the pay was more manageable than having no job and no money for rent soon enough.

“Well, you know you’re welcome here if need be.” Lilia says with a motherly tone as she sits next to Agatha on the couch.

Agatha has known Lilia since Agatha started moving into the apartment three doors down and Lilia came over insisting she read her palm to sense out the energy she was bringing into the complex. Agatha found herself drawn to Lilia’s energy and personality and found herself at Lilia’s apartment more times a week than she ever thought were possible.

“Lilia,” Agatha sighs, “You know I love you, and I appreciate the offer more than you could know, but I’ve walked in to you and many of your lovers more times than I could count with my hands and I wasn’t even living here.” She groans. It’s true. She and Lilia would set a time to meet up in Lilia’s apartment for dinner or tea a few days before said time, only for Agatha to walk in to Lilia and that week’s mystery man (or woman) making out on the couch. A few times she had even heard noises coming from Lilia’s room that Agatha will never be able to erase from her brain.

“Well you could always return to Porn Hub.” Lilia shrugs, taking a sip of her tea.

“Only Fans, Lilia, Only Fans!” Agatha groans into a pillow.

“Same thing. You show your body, you get paid, potato potato.”

“Definitely not the same thing… and speaking of jobs, I asked Jen to let me know if she hears of any parents in need of a babysitter, that’ll get me a head start in saving some money again at least.” Agatha tells Lilia, and it’s true. When she worked at the Westview Elementary a lot of parents would casually ask if they knew of any babysitters looking for a job for their kids, hopefully they start asking jen again soon.

‘Oh how is Jen, by the way? You should invite her over for dinner soon, I miss her. Oh, but yes a babysitting gig will do you well I agree, hopefully you hear back soon.” Lilia says as she gets up to head back to the kitchen and cleans her cup.

“She’s good. I think she’s seeing one of the teachers there though she won’t tell me which one but I think it’s going well if I had to guess.” Agatha says as she gets up to get ready to head out, she has an assignment to finish up before tomorrow and she’s just about done. “Well, I should head out, I have an assignment to finish up and if I stay here any longer I’ll end up here all night talking about Jen and her mystery teacher. Dinner Friday at seven?” Agatha says as she leans over to kiss Lilia’s cheek.

Lilia slowly became a mother figure for Agatha, even if neither of them voices it aloud, they know the truth. They were both who the other needed for the past five years.

“Yes sweetie, I’ll text you when dinner is almost done. See if Jen wants to come over would you? The more the merrier.” Lilia asks as she's drying up her cup.

“Sure, I’ll let her know, see you Lilia.” Agatha waves one final time before heading out the door and back into her own place.

Agatha
Hi! My name is Agatha Harkness, I am a friend of
Jen’s from Westview Elementary? She mentioned you were looking for a babysitter for your son and I was interested
in the position if you were still looking.

Maybe: Rio Vidal
Hi, Agatha. My name is Rio Vidal, and yes I
am still looking for a babysitter. Are you free
to meet for an interview, say tomorrow at 12?

Agatha
Yes I’m free! Let me know where and I’ll be there.
Rio Vidal
Perfect! It’ll be at my place I’ll send you
the address. I look forward to meeting you.

Agatha
Thank you, sounds good! See you then.

______________

As Agatha pulls up to the address that this Rio Vidal gave her, she can't help but feel the first day jitters all over again. It’s always nerve wrecking going to a job or interview for the first time, and the size of this house is not helping her case. Seriously, this house is double the size of her childhood home, a home she would not like to think of right now, thank you very much. She quickly gets out of the car and starts making her way up to the door to not think about it anymore than she has to or she might drive away and go work at Sonic or something.

She quickly knocks on the door and takes a step back as she hears feet across the floor to the door. A gorgeous woman, who she can only assume and hope is Rio, opens the door with a smile on her face. Accompanying the smile on her face is a bit of flour near her forehead as if she was in the middle of cooking when she rubbed her forehead right before Agatha knocked on the door.

Agatha finds herself staring at this woman, unable to tear her eyes away from her arms, as they grip the door.

“Hi, you must be Agatha! Please come on in.” Rio says as she stands to the side to make enough room for Agatha to pass through and enter the home.

All Agatha can think is, fuck me.
